Chapter 99: It Really Went Wrong

It was only after asking did Qin Ruo discover that something dire was going on at Devil’s Swamp!

The Citadel group’s attempted raid had been discovered by another Clan that was coincidentally doing a quest at Devil’s Swamp so the party of over two hundred people was being quietly stalked.

After the Overlord Gargantuan Demoncroc was found, a small team from the Clan suddenly launched an attack, ambushing this makeshift party that did not have any Clan supporting them.

This had caused the Citadel group to be open for attacks, which disrupted their plan. The Gargantuan Demoncroc then launched a counterattack with hundreds of Tier 3 and Tier 4 Devilcrocs, which killed more than half the party.

Even though the group that sneakily attacked also died at Devil’s Swamp, this despicable action angered two hundred of Qin Ruo’s co-workers. Hence, when a Clan party with hundreds of people appeared afterward, the resurrected players split into dozens of small teams and took turns to continually get their revenge by using the same tactic...

Although the Clan party was very strong and there were more and more of their men coming, the number would eventually reach two hundred. If left alone alive, the opponent would be in huge trouble. It would be chaos that organizing would be almost impossible. Worst, they would be left unchecked as they roam around, looting dropped equipments, taking advantage of the situation.

And so, the two parties fought till the world turned upside down deep inside Devil’s Swamp because of a Level 35 Overlord. They even remained calm in order not to let other Clans and players discover the battle here.

After a few hours, Gargantuan Demoncroc was still fine, and yet the fight between over two hundred people from Citadel and the other party had become more and more intense!

At last, as the number of men from the other party rapidly surged and they began repeatedly provoking, insulting, and launching vicious against Citadel players, a malignant battle started... The Infamy Points of some players from both parties began to rise.

This situation was extremely disadvantageous to Citadel group which consist of a small group of people! Each time a player was tagged red, that player would be killed by the people from the other party and be sent to the dangerous Underwater Prison which had limited resources...

Brother Da told him that if it not for some people who did not keep a cool hold like him refusing to be tricked by the other party, they might have already killed the Gargantuan Demoncroc.

However, Qin Ruo could still sense him being disgruntled through his words...

Although the force formed by the company’s workers was also quite large, they were still biting off more than they could chew compared to the strong Clan. Their preparations for this raid were thorough, yet others benefited from their efforts, making it hard for them to yield to the situation. Worst of all, those assholes used such despicable means to snatch their efforts away!

“So what are you gonna do now? Carry on?”

Sensing Brother Da’s foul mood, Qin Ruo felt helpless too. Even if he wanted to help, what could he do? He would at most die after entering—the strength of one person was negligible in the face of a Clan. This was also the reason he had been cautious with his words all this while, not wanting to offend Netherspirit’s Claw because of Crackpot.

“Ugh, screw this! The Priests have all been killed. F*ck, we’ll have to give them our equipment if we keep on playing. All right, go offline and sleep, we still gotta to wake up early for work tomorrow.”

Upon hearing what Brother Da said, Qin Ruo let out a sigh of relief. It was good that he could think like that, the Citadel’s capability was after all just the scale of a party, which was far more inferior to a Clan.

After bidding each other goodnight, they ended the call.

Qin Ruo walked around the market and realized that there were very few players selling things at midnight. Also, he could not find any equipment he liked at the shops. He was bored after a while and so decided to return the next day.

Just when he was about to log out, an unexpected system voice message came in. It was Gold Digger Babe.

Qin Ruo patted his head that was feeling a little heavy and smiled bitterly to himself.

‘Don’t tell me this girl is going to skip classes again tomorrow?’

After receiving the voice message, Qin Ruo tensed up upon hearing the crisp voice from the other side.

“Big Brother Qin, where are you? How come I don’t see you at Devil’s Swamp?”

“What are you doing at Devil’s Swamp?”

Qin Ruo suddenly paused for a moment. With a wave of uneasiness creeping over him, he hastily asked her for details.

As expected!

Gold Digger Babe quickly disclosed the bad news that could not get any worse. It turned out that the battle did not gradually cease as Brother Da had claimed but started developing into a much more horrible situation. All their party’s Priests were killed. When they returned again they were once again ambushed, while a Citadel group that was waiting to be resurrected by Priests had already automatically been sent to Blacktown as they had been left for too long. (60 minutes)

The other party’s action and the drop in the number of people in the group further intensified the battle that was originally going to subside!

Those that had gone offline were also going online again one after another to join the battle—with a determination that vowed to create problems for the Clan at all costs and without a care for the consequences. Meanwhile, they also began organizing people to hunt for red-tagged players of the Clan...

The scariest part was, the Clan even deployed a red-tagged party that specialized in PK to spawn camp them. Obviously, they would not stop unless they killed all the people until they were unable to revive and their levels dropped.

Upon hearing this, Qin Ruo could not help but curse, “Damn fatty!”. How bold of him to use this kind of method to deceive him, to prevent him from joining.

‘Damn it!’

“Xinqin, where are you now?” Qin Ruo anxiously asked.

After Qin Ruo confirmed that he had enough MP Potions and Magic Scrolls with him, he hurried to the warp portal while asking about Gold Digger Babe’s current location and the situation over there.

Gold Digger Babe was ecstatic to find out that he was coming, so she quickly sent him her coordinates and told him that there were still two other Priests there with her, aside from her elder sister. The two priests were her good friends whom she asked specifically to come over and help to resurrect them.

“Well done!”

Qin Ruo rapidly rushed out of the gate of Blacktown. While glancing at “Order of the Eight Gods” Clan members that constantly appeared along the way, he sent a voice message.

“Stay there and wait for me!”
