Chapter 424: Judah, Jesus, Mysterious Aeromancer

Slayer’s Heart did not give up on his pursuit. Even though Death Jesus’s barriers were disabled by Violet Orchid’s Purify; even though he had temporarily lost the Demonic Wings under Black Rock’s Gravity Dimension; Slayer’s Heart did not believe the Tier 5 Champion would be killed so easily by the thirty-meter free fall. Moreover, Death Jesus was still conscious and any simple Elementalism would conveniently save his life.

‘He can’t live. Not today!’

Taking the opportunity that those still surviving at the back of War Behemoth were all currently being oppressed by Angel Faction players, Slayer’s Heart leaped out from the War Behemoth like a derailed train to chase after Death Jesus’s falling body. Pazuzu’s Warhammer was swung down without hesitation.

He had waited for this moment far too long.

“Die now! Grahhhh!”

A blood red human arrow slid down the side of the War Behemoth right after Death Jesus that was without his Demonic Wings.

At the moment of life-and-death, Death Jesus went all out too. He roared and yelled for a name that shocked everyone.

” Judah 1 !”

***

Whooosh!

A gigantic black human figure appeared promptly below the falling Death Jesus. The newcomer swiftly blocked Slayer’s Heart deadly strike with its back while scooping Death Jesus steadily using one of his arms. The figure then shot toward the ground like a cannonball after absorbing the impact from Slayer’s Heart’s fatal strike.

But the giant summoned by Death Jesus was not heavily damaged by Slayer’s Heart attack. The monster flipped agilely back on its feet.

As it stood up straight, the true face of the gigantic monster finally entered the sights of the players gathered around the city wall of Moonrise City. Its entire body was covered by tightly sealed armor. The four-meter-high giant stood up with its head held high. It put down the unharmed Death Jesus onto the ground. Then, in one smooth action, the Steel Giant pushed both of his fists up against the trailing Slayer’s Heart.

All of a sudden, Slayer’s Heart turned from the hunter to being hunted.

“Ironpot!”

Clank!

With a sharp ring, another huge body did not lose to the Steel Giant. Eight sharp sickle-like legs appearing right on top of Death Jesus’s monster. Ironpot then flipped its body and dropped rapidly to meet the Steel Giant’s fists with its Darksteel-covered back.

Boom!!!

A dull sound rang in the air as if two humongous fortresses had come together.

Ironpot flipped several rounds in the air upon being hit and landed with eight of its “sickles” plunged deep in the ground.

The Steel Giant also sustained considerable damage. Both of its fists were numbed by Ironpot’s back and he, too, was pushed back by a few steps.

After the brief clash, both Earth-Enchanted Spider and Slayer’s Heart leaped forward at once to launch another round of attack. This was the best time to follow up attacking since Death Jesus still did not have his barriers back on. Slayer’s Heart would not miss such a golden opportunity.

But to the players who stood by on top and below the city wall, the golden opportunity seemed to have long passed.

Staying behind the Steel Giant, Death Jesus drew out a Magic Scroll immediately to set up Darkmist around him.

Without Violet Orchid’s Purify, Slayer’s Heart immediately lost track of Death Jesus.

However, it did not mean Death Jesus was able to escape Earth-Enchanted Spider’s detection. As a Boss monster that had lived its entire life inside a shady and dark environment, the Earth-Enchanted Spider was used to hunt its prey relying on its sensitive perception and never on its eyes.

The moment Slayer’s Heart lost sight of Death Jesus, Earth-Enchanted Spider made a quick move under Slayer’s Heart order.

Bam!

“Ugh...!” A rapid groan was soon heard within the mist. Death Jesus body bent backward and was sent flying out from the Darkmist after he was hit by a solid object. Dark aura was still wrapped around his body when he exited the Darkmist.

Rawghhh!

The Steel Giant roared furiously. It charged forward to try interrupting the Earth-Enchanted Spider that had just forced its master out from the Darkmist using Earth Thorn. But a red radiance flashed past the monster’s eye as it saw Slayer’s Heart rush in front of him and used Pazuzu’s Warhammer on its knee.

The Steel Giant groaned in pain and stopped moving with its joint damaged by the hammer.

Rawghhh!

A roaring sound of a dragon was heard as Slayer’s Heart pounded the Steel Giant’s genitals 2 heavily with Dragon’s Ascension. The inhumane attack yielded a blunt clanking noise, which terrorized the approaching Demon Faction players and causing them to have the urge to cover their crotches.

Ugh!

Death Jesus was slightly stunned as the Steel Giant was contained by Slayer’s Heart. The Earth-Enchanted Spider wasted no time and closed in rapidly. As the spider monster prepared to land the killing blow on Death Jesus with its sickle, a large net suddenly appeared out of thin air.

Whoosh!

Earth-Enchanted Spider was wrapped tight by the net and hung up.

“Hoho! Dead Jesus, how come you are in such a tight spot fighting your old foe?” An unfamiliar voice interrupted the fight and said sarcastically. He lamented not very far away from Slayer’s Heart position, “Tsk tsk, this is rare. Slayer’s Heart actually got the upper hand this time. Hahaha...” Amidst the laughter, a blurry silhouette appeared abruptly in between Slayer’s Heart and Death Jesus.

Slayer’s Heart face paled after he learned from the notification that the intruder had his Earth-Enchanted Spider bound for three seconds. He decisively gave up on pursuing Death Jesus and distanced himself from the Steel Giant immediately by crashing toward the direction of the city gate.

“Sorry, but you have to stay... Eh?” Just as the Aeromancer that appeared out of nowhere prepared to trap Slayer’s Heart by force, he frowned as an enormous pressure came against him from above. He raised his head and saw the incoming threat—Black Rock the Terramancer!

Boom!!!

Black Rock directed his attack on the defenseless Death Jesus first. The floor beneath Death Jesus cracked as three rock spears emerged and were about to pierce his body.

But right before that happened, the mysterious Aeromancer from the Demon Faction promptly pointed his finger at Death Jesus.

A giant whirlwind quickly surrounded Death Jesus.

Still, Death Jesus body was pierced.

“Argh!!” Death Jesus body fell to the ground after a horrible shriek, but he was alive.

“He is not dead? F*ck!”

Black Rock scowled and was at the same time surprised by the battle feedback. He was shocked that the damage from a single rock spear was reduced by about three hundred points after it came in contact with the whirlwind. But the fact that Death Jesus stayed alive after taking nine hundred damage indicated that his Legendary equipment had boosted the Elementalist’s health points by quite a margin as well.

Black Rock did not push it after he failed to assassinate Death Jesus. He rationally flapped his Angelic Wings and returned back to the top of the War Behemoth. This allowed him to escape the attack range of both Death Jesus and the mysterious Aeromancer, as well as the numerous Demon Faction players that had swarmed in just on time.

After all, he had accomplished his main objective. Although he did not manage to free Slayer’s Heart’s Pet, at least he had helped Slayer’s Heart to escape the dire situation.

Moreover, under the well-executed retaliation led by Violet Orchid, Demon Faction had lost nine of their Tier 5 Champions at the back of the War Behemoth. The Demon Faction’s focused attack on the northern wall no longer posed an immediate threat to the defenders on top of the city wall. They did not even need to worry about Death Jesus for the time being.

***

“I thought you were just going to stand by and watch.” Death Jesus’s expression looked awful after he was released from the Stun Effect. He spoke brashly to the mysterious Aeromancer even though the latter had just saved his life. After reconstructing his defensive barrier, he stared coldly at those players on top of the city wall and arrogantly extended his pair of Demonic Wings.

If not because of the mysterious Aeromancer, Death Jesus would have most probably charged right back up there to avenge himself. The Aeromancer apparently understood how much Death Jesus cared about his pride, thus he stopped him smilingly. “Are you sure you will be able to get your revenge going back up there, or you are just going there to be blasted back down here once more?”

“Cut the crap. You have already gained the Aerobeast, don’t you think is time to return the favor and help me get my revenge?”

“Forget it. Binding an Elemental Pet alone does not make me invincible. I don’t think I am able to help you this time.”

The Aeromancer clearly understood that despite the Aerobeast’s various Wind magic that could help him achieve a number of unimaginable things, that did not mean he was strong enough to take on the more than ten Tier 5 Champions and a Divinity-fused Tier 5 Elementalist currently up there on the city wall. He was not that naïve. He was especially concerned and restless about the Radiant Priest, who was responsible for the death of most of the Demon Faction comrades after using only a single debuff spell.

‘Priest... It seems that this class is terribly strong after reaching Tier 5.’

“Let me give you a piece of advice, go back and regroup. Send in another group to bring back those fallen Tier 5 Champions. Only after that that you should think about your revenge,” the Aeromancer said to Death Jesus, “With the presence of the Tier 5 Priest, you will only become their punching bag if you go back now.”

“You think Tier 5 players are aplenty that we can just simply deploy them?” When Death Jesus said this with a grim face he had already calmed down. He stopped in mid-air facing the Aeromancer and observed the battle situation at the other end.

At least one part of the city wall at about two hundred meters long had been taken down by the Demon Faction. A few thousand players had set foot there.

‘I miscalculated. The reason we lost so many men is that I misjudged the Tier 5 Priest’s ability. Great, now that we have lost nine Tier 5 players, our siege attack will certainly be hampered. If we can’t contain them, the Angel Faction will definitely push back hard.’

Death Jesus’s mind spun rapidly.

After a while, he decided to drop his personal vendetta for the time being and focus on the more important task first. ‘Whatever it is, the most important thing now is to take down Moonrise City. We can’t afford to fail the alliance made by the five great Demon leagues.’

Someone messaged him when he was thinking that, “Dead Jesus, slacking off again?”

“...” Death Jesus ignored the sender.

That person resumed quickly, “Alright, I will keep it simple. You are the only one with wings that is available now. Come over to coordinates *****, ***** quick. An Angel Faction Elementalist has just been spotted flying to your direction. His equipment is excellent, most probably is the strongest one that came out from the Trading Hall.”

“Another one? It’s him!”

Death Jesus frowned as he thought of a person. He bid the Aeromancer a curt goodbye and went around the city wall to reach the person who had just sent him the message.
