Chapter 157: Violetmoon Devilite’s Baby

Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation

Qin Ruo met Violetmoon Devilite and Grandiose Dragon. There was one a beautiful woman standing next to Grandiose Dragon. Her name was Blue Princess.

Grandiose Dragon stood in between the two girls. The man must have surely enjoyed the feeling of being sandwiched between two beautiful women. Especially around the single players, his definitely inflated. He had a strong intention to have a harem. The fantasy of embracing women left and right.

Naturally, it will only be a thought. Blue Princess was the kind of woman who liked to play hard-to-get. She would get emotional... sometimes. When jealousy kicked in... That and Violet Devilite. She was not too rash, in terms of emotional being, but she would never allow a man to get his way with women. So standing between the two would do just fine for him.

He did not get to enjoy for too long though. A reckless guy came in and bumped into his “trophy”—Violetmoon Devilite. He also shamefully touched her chest...

‘Sh*t!’

Those badahonkerdongs... those big ol’ jiggilly juggers... those bodalicious pongs! He could only dare to think about it in his dream. This bastard! Although both parties did not realize it nor did they care, Grandiose Dragon was very angry. He had this sudden urge to drag that idiot out the store and beat the living hell out of him.

When he was going to speak, Grandiose Dragon was stunned.

Qin Ruo!

This guy again!

Emotions swirled in him. He did not have any idea what to do at that moment. Before he could actually make sense of what he was doing, he had verbally called his name out loud.

As soon as the words left his lips, Grandiose Dragon immediately regretted it.

Qin Ruo was a tough guy who dared to challenge the members of Netherspirit’s Claw. Not forgetting to mention that his fighting skill was top rated. It will be bad if Qin Ruo held any grudge against him.

He forced a smile when Qin Ruo familiarly started a conversation with Violetmoon Devilite about the recent situation as if he was invisible. Grandiose Dragon’s face turned purple with rage and was very embarrassed. He was unsure as to whether he had to try and build a “relationship” with Qin Ruo or to greet Qin Ruo again.

“I heard from your brother that you were headed into the spotlight two days ago. What did you act in? In a movie? Or perhaps a drama series? Are you the main character?”

Violetmoon Devilite’s blushed madly and said, “Don’t tease me. I’m sure he mentioned that there were guys chasing after me in school! Don’t believe whatever he said! I was just helping my teacher that day. There is no contract or that sort of things.”

“Oh. I see... Here I am thinking about whether I should prepare a pen and paper for your autograph!”

“That’s a good one. I never knew you could jest. I had always thought that you were the anti-social kind of guy.”

Violetmoon Devilite’s ability to change the topic was not bad. Qin Ruo smiled and rubbed the tip of his nose.

“I am twenty-three years old now. I’m no longer a boy.”

“Our teacher taught us that men are only real men after the age of thirty. Before that, you are still a maturing boy.”

“Hmm, is your teacher a he or a she?”

“She.”

While Qin Ruo chatted with Violetmoon Devilite, Grandiose Dragon stood behind them. Restless, he had no idea what to do. He did not know how to interject the conversation. After a short while, he moved away when suddenly Blue Princes spoke.

“Oh! Are you here to get the eggs as well?”

Originally Qin Ruo had no plan to talk to Blue Princess, who was seemed kind of arrogant. But since she was a friend of Violetmoon Devilite and both Violetmoon Devilite and Grand Magi were very nice, he felt obligated to treat her politely. He faintly smiled at her. “Yeah, I am busy these two days. I only noticed the Pet Store when I came online. So I came over and to take a look.”

“Just to take a look huh? Yeah. That’s right. Just have a look at them. Those Pet Eggs are expensive.”

“Is it though?” Qin Ruo replied with a snort.

Her tone and manner of replying were rather... demeaning, however, he did not take it to heart. That was because he had not looked at the price yet. When he glanced at the counter, he frowned immediately.

“2,000 gold coin for a Pet Egg. You weren’t kidding about the price.”

“That’s normal,” said Blue Princess with a smug look on her face.

“After all, H&G is a commercial game. Surely, the developers will find ways to earn money from players. 2,000 gold coin for an egg? I think it’s a fair price. It would be bad if the price was affordable and everyone could have one. It’s too boring. I’d prefer those unfortunate poor plebeians to farm in the wild.”

“...”

After listening to Blue Princess’s self-righteous remarks, Qin Ruo was completely speechless. Many players seemed to agree with her. Without commenting any further, Qin Ruo switched his attention to the counter and ignored Blue Princess.

“Big Brother Qin Ruo, what kind of Pet are you going to buy? Let me give you some suggestions.”

It looked like Violetmoon Devilite shared the same thought as Qin Ruo. She then ignored Blue Princess and observed the different Pet Eggs on the counter. She initiated the conversation and tried to defuse the awkward situation that Blue Princess had created.

“I’m not buying any. Shall I help you instead?”

“Alright!”

Violetmoon Devilite was stunned but she quickly recovered. She pointed to a black Pet Egg on the counter and said, “This looks very cool, what about this one?”

Following her frail looking fingers, Qin Ruo looked at the information of the Pet Egg.

Gloomy Gnawbeast:

Dark Element

Master of Dark Elemental Magic

Original Attributes:

12 Physical Defense

7 Magic Defense

200 HP

50 MP

Magic Skill: Corrosion Bubble

Magic Attack Strength 4~7

Such detailed attribute information!

But this Pet was not suitable for Violetmoon Devilite.

“If you are a lone adventurer, I recommend you choose a melee Combat Pet with high HP, or an Auxiliary Pet. If you have a team, I suggest that you and your team have a discussion. Then, only you decide your own pet type.”

“Why?” asked a random player.

It was not Violetmoon Devilite, Grandiose Dragon or Blue Princess, but a male player whom Qin Ruo had never met. Several people around him were with him and they were undecided on which Pet Egg to choose. After listening to what Qin Ruo said, they were interested and looked at him for more advice.

“It is very simple.” Qin Ruo explained.

“If you are playing alone, it is good when you had a high HP and Defense Pet in the later stage. With good positioning, you can easily lure the monster by cooperating with your Pet, even when you deal with a player, it is also not bad. As for the Auxiliary Pet, you can have a slight increase in your combat power and prolong the duration of combat capability. Playing alone should do you well if you know what your play style is.”

“If you have a fixed team, it is better to plan different Pets according to your teammates’ abilities and strengthen their abilities according to the different players’ role in the team. This is more complicated, but this way should improve the overall strength of the team.”

Originally, the players around just looked for the fiercest and strongest monsters. They did not think too much about it. However, after listening to Qin Ruo’s explanation, the crowd nodded in agreement.

“Erm, dude, which type of Pet do you think is suitable for Elementalists like us? High HP, high Defense melee-type Combat monster or the Auxiliary type?”

It was the same person. Qin Ruo turned and curiously stared at the player. He did not reveal which type of Elementalist he was.

“You are...”

“Sorry. I am a Shadoweaver, Level 43, and I play alone most of the time.”

“That makes things easier. In that case, I suggest this.”

He pointed to the Gloomy Gnawbeast Pet Egg that Violetmoon Devilite asked about before.

“Dark element is strong on its own. With your deep understanding of the Dark element, it should be easy for you to control a Dark Element Pet with the premise is that you have to level up your Pet first. With two Dark Element attack classes, your strength should be greatly improved.”

The Shadoweaver was so enchanted by Qin Ruo’s words. He immediately thanked Qin Ruo and bought the Pet Egg without any hesitation and requested to be bound to the item.

After that, Qin Ruo was mildly thrown off when he noticed that they were out of eggs.

“Eh? Out of stock?”

“You don’t know? In the same store, the amount of the same Pet Eggs is limited. This should be the last one... Thank you for your suggestion bro.”

After the man was done, he glanced at Violetmoon Devilite who was next to Qin Ruo, a little ashamed. He then quickly turned around and wormed his way out of the shop.

Now only did Qin Ruo recall that the Gloomy Gnawbeast was Violetmoon Devilite’s target. He did not expect that he was so talkative until he pointed the Pet Egg to others. He awkwardly turned his head.

In fact, Violetmoon Devilite’s intention was to prevent Qin Ruo from being embarrassed and thus pointed at a random Pet Egg. Hence, she was not angry at all. She found Qin Ruo’s remarks very reasonable. His words made her fantasize about being a chivalrous girl, where she had a pet and traveled around the world. She then listened to Qin Ruo and expressed her desire for one of the tank-type melee Pets.

When she shared her thoughts with Qin Ruo, Qin Ruo promised her to help her pick one that suited her needs. Then, he went to the counter and searched for a suitable melee monster for Violetmoon Devilite.

Finally, after observing more than ten melee type Pet Egg’s attributes, Qin Ruo’s eyes fell on an Ice Python’s Pet Egg. One the factors why he chose the monster was because of its high Movement Speed. What made it better was its close and long-ranged attack skills. This should balance out Violetmoon Devilite’s weakness as she lacked melee combat ability. At the same time, Ice Python had considerable high HP and could even be used as a shield in times. The only downside to it was its type. Having a snake Pet for a female player was a little too suggestive.

Not to mention its terribly long grinding session...

Violetmoon Devilite was about to burst out in tears. She pouted at Qin Ruo for she did not expect him to choose such a terrifying monster as her Pet. But after some persuading, she relented and bought the Pet.
