Chapter 475: Chapter 475: Spitting 3 liters of Blood

“It will be over, once all of you are wiped out.” Romeo reluctantly pulled out a scroll. He then tore it open vehemently, “Don’t think you have the upper hand.”

As the scroll was torn, a stream of blue light surged into the sky, and thunderlight began to gather above Starfire.

Li Yao’s expression shifted, “It’s a large-scale Thunder Wave magic scroll. Melee forces, tighten up the defense and don’t let them breach the lines. Everyone stick together to minimize the damage.”

At Li Yao’s command, Starfire’s formation rapidly contracted, becoming extremely tight.

Upon seeing Starfire’s tightened formation, Romeo’s face turned sour, roared, “Dammit, who divulged the secrets of the scroll? How do they know how the scroll inflicts damage?”

Romeo couldn’t help but to be livid because if two players stand over a yard apart, the scroll could trigger a secondary damaging shockwave. In a formation with this many players, the sheer number of shockwaves would undoubtedly shatter Starfire’s lines.

“Seems like the Devil Alliance has some hidden skills that they haven’t deployed yet. They brought them out at this moment… what a pity.”

Serena watched as the gradually forming sea blue light in the sky and spoke with a solemn expression.

“Clearly, Starfire’s counter-strategy was well suited to neutralise the scroll.” Xiao Ze also appeared relieved.

Many spectators, however, were still in the dark about what was happening, thinking that the Devil Alliance was about to turn the tables.

As it stood, the scroll was still making an impressive display. The sky was slowly being overtaken by azure light, pressing down on Starfire’s lines.

Zzzzap…

Thunderlight like seawater rained down on Starfire’s line. The health of every Starfire member dropped significantly.

A super-large blue shockwave emanated from the Starfire line. Yet, it did not result in any secondary damage.

“Attack now! This is the perfect moment to break their defensive line.” Romeo rage screamed.

To turn defense into offense was their only chance of winning. Even though they hadn’t inflicted any secondary damage, at this moment, every Starfire member’s health was critically low. It was the perfect opportunity to break the line.

The players of the Devil Alliance knew nothing about the scroll’s effect, but seeing the health of all Starfire members drop all at once, they became elated and rushed Starfire’s lines.

Starting from the beginning, The Devil Alliance had faced extreme humiliation. They were slaughtered just like this – even though when there was fog, the mess could not be seen, the situation was now clearly displayed before the audience.

Starfire had an easy time eliminating them. No one could survive Li Yao’s arrow – their defenses melted away like snow under sunshine.

They were not aware of the scroll’s effect. In reality, because of Li Yao’s timely command, the scroll only had half its intended effect. Had it reached its full effect, a portion of Starfire’s crew would undoubtedly be eliminated, each man remaining would be critically injured. Coupled with their charge, the outcome would be predetermined.

However, their joy was short-lived. They had barely completed a round of attacks; a blindingly bright, golden light enveloped all of Starfire.

Their ecstatic expressions rapidly shifted to shock and disbelief. Despite having their vision obstructed by the golden light, they could still see, from the corner of their eyes, the vast amount of green health-restoration numbers popping up on their screens. Their hearts sank at once.

“Damn it, you think only you guys have damaging scrolls? Let’s see how powerful our husband-and-wife combo attack is,” Guardian Angel proudly stated.

“Don’t waste your energy. Today, there’s absolutely no chance for the Devil Alliance to win.” As Li Yao spoke, he kept up his attacks. Nobody could withstand his arrows – each one took out an opponent.

“It’s impossible. How could you possibly know the effect of a rare scroll like Thunder Wave? It’s a reward from a large-scale guild mission. Only three or four of us in our guild knew of the scroll’s effect. How could you know?” Romeo felt like a huge rock was pressing against him. This magic scroll, which could cover hundreds of people, if Starfire hadn’t been so aggressive, forcing the Devil Alliance into this situation, he wouldn’t have used it.

A scroll that inflicted direct damage was extremely rare – It was something to be kept hidden away until needed to secure a victory in guild battles.

Using it in such a meaningless conflict was wantonly extravagant.

Using the scroll already made him lament, now it had been deployed and yet someone had seen through it, understood how its damage mechanism worked. The damage caused by the scroll was far less than it should have been – it had him depressed.

His chest rose and fell quickly. If this were not a game, he likely would have spat blood from his anger.

Li Yao lightly replied, “Looking at how depressed you are, I’ll kindly tell you this, read more when you can.”

“Are you playing with me?” Romeo hadn’t thought that Li Yao would be making fun of him at this point, this was just too infuriating.

Li Yao looked serious, “They say the uglier you are, the more you should read. Look at me, I’m far from handsome. To find a good wife in the future, naturally, I read more. This is where I read about this scroll.”

“In this life-and-death situation, he still can’t show a bit of class,” Feng Yi muttered in the veteran’s channel.

Seeing Romeo’s bloodshot eyes, Li Yao shrugged and said, “I’m serious. If you don’t believe me, you can go find the book ‘Research on Ancient Scrolls’. On page fifty-three, it discusses your scroll. You can either say that you’re too unlucky, or maybe I’m just too lucky.”

Romeo was panting heavily. He was now uncertain, could there really be such a book?

It appeared that Li Yao recalled something, “That’s right, you can only blame my good fortune. You see, I only ever read to page fifty-three of this book.”

Heh, Pu…

The audience burst out laughing. Li Yao can drive people to the brink without taking any responsibility. Now both sides are locked in intense battle, but he’s still messing with the enemy, it was absolutely infuriating.

This Hunting King, sigh… he’s so stubborn…” Serena didn’t know how to describe him.

Xiao Ze bitterly laughed, “He’s always like this. When I first met him, he nearly drove me crazy. Now, even in such a crucial situation, he can still be like this.”

In the frontlines, Daimeng Tonton curiously asked, “Big Brother, did you really read this book? You managed to get to page fifty-three, that’s amazing.”

Li Yao, with a serious face, replied, “Of course it’s true, I’m such a righteous person, surely I wouldn’t bully a pitiful person on the verge of spitting blood.”

“Big brother is indeed kind-hearted,” as Dai Meng Tonton said that, she killed off another enemy with her Lava Eruption.

Lou Jie rolled his eyes, “Don’t teach bad things to the child.”
