Chapter 374 The Dragon-To-Win
Chapter 374 The Dragon-To-Win
POV Player Kakashi:
A horde of humanoids run through the forest, all clad in heavy armor, their green capes waving behind them. Their weapons glinted under the silver moonlight passing between the leaves of the tall, ancient oaks.
"For the Agamemnon!" Their shouts and yells echoed through the night, their mind burning with bloodthirsty and greed. The roars and thunders were accompanied by flashes of light in the sky.
Between them, a player in an ornamental and green cloak slowly walked forward, his blonde locks falling on his face, 'Phh, cowards! They are all cowards; without that stupid dragon, they would forever remain losers!'
He raised his hand, and they all stopped at the edge of the woods.
The field of destruction sprawled all the way from the new forest border all the way to the crumbled walls and buried trench. There were no traces left of the forest before them, everything replaced by brutalized fields of plain soil littered by smoldering, black craters.
The thick haze and mist drifted through the plains.
The golden and red lights lit up within the dust clouds, dozens of steps approaching, "We meet again Agamemnon! You might be a king, but I am Zeus, the god of thunder!"
'That arrogant piece of shit!' The blonde boy angrily raised his fist, and all his guildmates raised their weapons. Right in front of them were their long-term rivals.
The blue projectile of mana constantly flew above their heads, and the distant explosions created faint tremors.
The tall giant, his entire body bulging with god-like muscles fully covered in heavy black armor, walked out of the smoke. His reptilian eyes and long horns crowning his head crackled with lightning. The two halberds in his arms with hands forged out of lightning were so large they looked like they could cleave through an entire squad, their blades glowing in a menacing red glow.
More and more players in identical, black runic armor followed, and the clouds of smoke expanded as if they followed them.
Agamemnon looked back at his own men, his heart sinking when he compared their enchanted steel armor with their enemies' monstrously looking black armor.
The roars of confidence vanished, all his men nervously holding their weapons, their eyes fixed upon the runic blades of their enemies.
'Phh, their armor might be a tad bit better now, but they are still the losers we destroyed in every single game!'
Agamemnon's yell raised above the field, accompanied by roars of his army, "All the expensive enchanted armors and their special races are nothing compared to our skill and numbers!"
"Yeah! We will send them running back to their rich daddy dragon!"
"You have finally stopped hiding behind the backs of your NPC backers. Now, prepare to die!"
"Where is your sister, guild master Zeus? Can we take her after we beat you up?"
He calmed down, and a grin returned to his face as his army's morale rose again!
"Die!" The heavily armored and monstrous players in black rushed forwards like a tide of fire and lightning. They moved with such a speed they would outrun a car.
"Raise barriers!" Agamemnon felt like laughing, seeing all his enemies charge like a bunch of madmen.
The blue light flashed in the tree line, and a mana wall rose up, forming an impenetrable barrier like blue glass.
"Fire!" He waved his hand, and dozens of fireballs and bolts of mana launched from the forest line, all descending upon the black and red tide. The chanting of his mages echoed from every direction.
The next moment the enemies vanished under the onslaught of explosions, dust clouds, and light flashes. The explosions shook with the ground and his enemies were gone.
'They are all idiots! They were always my lackeys, how dare they go against me just because they were a bit lucky this time. They are going to di...'
The confused voices of his men made him look around.
"Did you get XP?"
"Huh? Where is my XP, who stole it?!"
His thoughts vanished, and his eyes opened in terror as the armored players appeared unscathed, quickly closing on, their armor glowing red from the heat.
'No... no... how strong can their armor be?!'
The lightning struck, and flames burst within the dust clouds, and before anyone could even react, the giant arcs of electricity and white fireballs smashed into the blue magic barriers.
The woods shook under the explosions, and the barrier rippled and cracked. Small motes of blue mana raised out of it.
'What?! How high are their stats?!' Agamemnon paled, his legs shaking. It was his nightmare, 'No, we have dominated you on every occasion! You can't win just because of one lucky encounter! That is not fair!'
He wanted to shout, but he couldn't as the ranks of players in silver and black collided. The geyser's blood splurted across the frontline as red glowing blades cut through the barriers and armor without resistance.
Agamemnon fell on his knee and clenched his head in desperation, 'No! This is just a dream. I can't lose to them. We never lost to them!'
"This is not even pay-to-win... this is dragon-to-win." He didn't know who said it, but the blonde boy could only nod.
POV Vesuvius:
The dragon's clawed arm swished through the air, hitting the smooth black wall with a loud bang, and a stone fragment flew out.
'That coward is gone! There is no one here.' The dragon stood in the large circular chamber of the tower in his bipedal form. The dark smoke spread out, filling it all the way to its ceiling.
The dark form of the reaper loomed behind him, their purple eyes staring into nothingness.

Vesuvius calmed down as he looked at the empty tower, 'He didn't even leave anything behind! This tower is empty. There is not even a single golden coin.'
Then the reaper's cold voice returned him to reality, "Dragon, we need to go. The circle of death must be corrected and the missing souls rekilled."
