Last Egg: Reincarnated as a Dragon in a Game

Chapter 148 Triple Trouble

Chapter 148 Triple Trouble

(AN: Alright, I am done with filler chapters :D Sorry for that I just needed some more time to plan the direction of the story.)

A man in white robes rashly walked through brightly lit corridors with all walls covered in white marble, his steps muffled by a long red carpet going down the whole gallery.

Metallic torches holding large glowing crystals hang from the walls along the corridor. Their white light reflected from the smooth and polished marble tiles.

He stopped before a large door made of pure white wood.

The young priest took a deep breath and pushed them open with both of his arms that were slightly trembling from nervosity. He calmed down, straightening his back as he entered a large hall.

Everything was white, covered in pristine white marble tiles. Huge silver chandeliers, littered with dozens of small glittering crystals glowing in pristine white light, hung from the ceiling on long silver chains.

An old fat man was sprawled in an oversized, throne-like chair made of white marble with white cushioning. His white robes, decorated by a silver thread and stained by grease, flowed all the way down to the marble floor. His white beard was dirty, filled with remnants of wood, while his white hairs were neatly trimmed without a single blemish.

A large table in front of him was filled with a mountain of food. Giant grilled pigs, large bowls filled with exquisite sauces and fish were piling over each other, their smell perpetrating through the whole room.

The young priest immediately fell on his knees, bowing his head to the fat bishop, his bald head reflecting the white light from the chandelier on its polished skin without a singly hair.

"Y-your holiness, bishop…" the young priest took a break, breathing out as he collected his resolve while suppressing his disdain towards the bishop, "I am bringing your news of possible heresy in the barony of Azerlisia. "

"What are you talking about? Just speak. I don't have the whole day for this." the bishop spoke in a muffled voice with his mouth full of meat, grease and sauce running down his white beard.

"Our believers are abandoning us for some startup cult."

"That is heresy!" pieces of food and saliva flew out of the bishop's mouth as he punched with his fist on the table, all of the food on it jumping up with his large round belly jiggling like jelly.

The young priest collected his resolve and continued with his eyes facing the ground, not daring to look at the bishop. "One of our priests was a demon, causing the people to turn on us."

The bishop quickly calmed down as he rationally analyzed the whole situation. He gulped down the content of his mouth after realizing the seriousness of the problem, "Nonsense, something like that is impossible. There is no way that demons would be able to keep using their holy powers granted to us by the great god of light. It must be someone's scheme to undermine our authority!"

There was no way that someone who managed to reach the position of a bishop and keep it while being corrupted was stupid. If they were, then they would never even achieve such a high rank in the church.

"Send our inquisitors to investigate and let them immediately inform me of their findings. They are allowed to use any force required to resolve the situation."

POV Vesuvius:

A rain of fire descended from the sky, a bright yellow fire raining down upon a pack of black wolves. Their shiny metallic spikes glowed in red before the flood of flames devoured them. The bright flaming inferno surged through the mountains, burning everything that came into its path, the stone melting into lava and thick clouds of steam rising up.

'Finally!' seeing the popup Vesuvius flapped his wings, his body whizzing towards the horizon, leaving behind a trail of black smoke.

POV Random Player:

Winds were howling through the snow-covered plains. Heavy snow was falling down, snowflakes pilling over each other, covering everything in white. A large white moon was glowing in the sky, its silver light reflecting from the snow.

A tall and skinny girl wearing close-fitting plate armour with a skirt and a collar of fluffy white fur around her neck stood there facing a giant jiggling blob of blood and visceral with two glowing green eyes.

Behind her was waving a long cape of white fur flowing down from her shoulders. Her teal-coloured hair flew in all directions under the powerful winds blowing against her, her blue eyes glowing slightly.

She swung her shiny sword with multiple blue and white runes glowing on its blade. Ice shards were rotating along its length, moving so fast they looked blurry as if it was a chainsaw.

The blade swished through the air, the force behind the swing rising clouds of snow around her, mighty wind gushing from its edge.

The blade cut through the blob instantly, and white frost spread from the injury.

The girl jumped, kicking at the blob. The moment that her shiny metallic greaves came into contact with the bloody red blob, its whole body shattered, turning into a pile of red ice fragments.

POV ???:

Everything was dark except the bright beam of light glowing on a figure in black. Their face was hidden behind a plain white mask. A silver ring with three black onyxes on their finger was glittering under the light.

They kneeled on the plain grey stone. Everything around them was black and dark, making it impossible to see any details.

"So you are saying that the wyrm's minions with brass masks are wyrmkin?" a distorted voice as if it came through some filter came from the darkness.

"Yes, master, I leaked some of our intel to low-level grunts to probe their security."

"That complicates stuff a little, but that will not stop us. The riches of the elder wyrm that lived for centuries are right in front of us. We will not give up because of small problems."

"Yes, master!"

a glowing blue pentagram in circles ignited on the floor under the kneeling figure. The blue light glowed out of it, intensifying and quickly enveloping the dark shadow standing on it.

A loud crack echoed through the dark room, the figure vanishing in a flash of blue light.

POV Vesuvius:

Vesuvius glided above the weird terrain with thin and tall mountains. The valleys between them were all filled with verdant green grass with cows munching upon it.

Large nests made of twigs and dry grass hunged from the cliffs, high above the ground. Massive grey, stone-looking eggs were resting in them, their size bigger than human children. The weak magical energy radiated out of them, spreading to the surroundings.

The dragon immediately recognized them with his inherited genetic memory, his eyes glowing as he watched them, 'These are wyvern eggs, and lots of them.'

Vesuvius tilted his wings, slowly gliding towards a nearby nest, his golden reptilian eyes looking focused as his inquisitive side awoke within him with new experiment brewing in his cold draconic mind.

The dragon stopped mid-air, hovering above the nest while flapping his large wings, strong winds howling with each of their flaps.

He bit his tongue, and a small trickle of red glowing liquid leaked out of his mouth, raining upon the eggs and staining their surface.

The blood started to bubble, its glow increasing as it soaked into the eggs, vanishing as if nothing happened, at least to the eyes of a human.

However, as a dragon, Vesuvius felt the magical energy radiating out of the eggs skyrocket, looking like a hot spot of magic.

'It was absorbed... and easily on top of that.' Vesuvius felt impatient, wanting to see the result as soon as possible, wondering if they would be any different than changing already-born creatures.

The dragon remained to hover above the eggs, observing them with his golden eyes before he flapped his enormous leathery wings covered in glowing runes, launching high into the star-covered sky.

He widely spread his wings, slowly gliding towards a tall cliff with wide enough space on top of it for him to land on it.

The large black armoured mass landed on the cliff, causing large boulders to fall, rolling into a valley under it.

The dragon comfortably layed on the stone, folding his wings and curling his tail around him, his golden reptilian eyes peering into the nothingness.
