Chapter ?104 Turning The Tide, Part 5/5
POV RadiantHero:
RadiantHero walked under the thick green canopies of trees, his normally shiny amour was covered in brown mud, with his long blue cape dirtied by a layer of dust from a road. He was looking determined, holding his bastard sword, ready to slash any attacker.
The forest around him was quiet except for the sound of rustling leaves under his legs and birds chirping in canopies of trees.
After collecting information in the town, he came to a conclusion, 'Somehow the baron ruling over this territory got into conflict with the elder wyrm living in the mountains close to the town and some chaos wanting players joined that wyrm and are committing crimes all over the barony.'
He hurried his steps, knowing that he had to stop this useless and bloody conflict, 'I will stop this insanity!'
He wasn't a warmonger, and he would be happy if he could resolve the conflict peacefully, but he was determined to end the suffering of common people even if he had to use violence to accomplish it.
POV Vesuvius:
The dragon stood on the smoke-covered battlefield as his whole body and the three long horns on his head crackled in lightning, long and wild tendrils of blue and gold lightning slashing around them.
Blue dots kept moving around him in the smoke, rustling and creaking as they kept running circles around the large dragon as if waiting for any lapse in his attention.
The dragon had all of his sore muscle tense, ready to counterattack at a moment of notice. The lighting around his horns kept getting brighter, with the length of the arcs prolonging each second.
Suddenly the blue dots changed their direction, quickly moving towards the dragon, their eyes rapidly flickering as all of them leapt into the air at once, their glowing blue blades descending towards the dragon.
A massive long arc of blue lightning with a golden centre burst out of the dragon's horns heading towards the incoming mechs, the bright light penetrating through the clouds of thick smoke.
The arc struck against the pitch black metallic chassis, dozens of sparks flying in all directions before it jumped towards another mech and then another. Their eyes were flickering before the blue light in them was extinguished. Their shiny black metallic bodies melted and bent as the electricity surged through them. Bright electrical tendrils spread around, everything crackling with lightning as a loud thunder shook the battlefield.

Not caring about their fallen brothers, the mechs continued their attacks, their metallic joints creaking under their speed as they jumped at the dragon, swinging their scythe-like blades.
The glowing blue blades impacted all over his scales. The surface of the scales rippled as if it was the surface of the water when the sharp glowing edge touched them. The blades bounced off the scales, accompanied by a swarm of blue sparks, without dealing any damage. The bright blue electrical tendrils climbed up their blades and reached towards the black magitech constructs, sparking around their bodies and causing the metallic limbs to shake.
Suddenly something changed. Loud humming noise came from the mechs that held on top of the dragon ignoring smoke rising from their bodies. Their shiny blue eyes started to pulse with fastening frequency. Blue light penetrated the solid black metallic plates on their chests, radiating rays of blue light in all directions.
Noticing their changed behaviour of them ignoring the damage and the bright light coming out of them, Vesuvius panicked, 'Are they going to self-destruct again? Should I destroy them?... No, that could trigger explosion even sooner.'
The magical energy perpetrated through his wings as he bent his large muscular legs, leaping into the air. He flapped his large wings, and the magical energy surging through the veins in them compensated for the large holes in their membranes. The dragon spread his massive wings and launched into the air. Each flap of his enormous wings filled with holes sent dark clouds of smoke in all directions.
The dragon soared towards the sky, the pitch black mechs holding on to his body, electricity flashing around them and mixing with the blue rays radiating out of their bodies. Wind loudly screamed around the large body covered in black scales as the dragon kept accelerating.
Suddenly the dragon tilted his wings, his whole body tilting upwards and sideway at once in a sharp maneuver. The magitech constructs tensed, their synthetic muscles trying to hold, but they couldn't hold up under the large centrifugal force and the electricity surging through their bodies.
Their grip loosened as they fell from the dragon, falling towards the distant green ground like metallic meteors, their eyes desperately flickering.
Their heavy armoured bodies hit the ground at a great speed, raising a cloud of dirt as their bodies dug into the soft soil. Then a blinding blue light flashed out of them, and a large blue sphere of energy exploded out, turning everything in its path into dust.
The blinding blue sphere of energy kept expanding, their blue glow covering everything in blinding blue, bright rays.
Vesuvius flapped his wings with all of his strength, propelling himself as fast as he could, his instincts screaming at him of incoming danger.
A heat wave swept through him, the familiar itch spreading all over his body. It stopped almost instantly, the blue explosions reaching their climax and stopping.
'Again? Luckily these weren't as big as the giant from before.'
Three large craters were on the ground, spreading over the black and brown wasteland without any sign of life.
Watching all of the destruction, Vesuvius started to feel doubt if it was a good idea to continue exploring this dungeon, 'This is a third time that I almost died... Should I return? What if the final boss also explodes? Wouldn't his explosion be even stronger? Or maybe the whole ship that they have a base in has some self-destruction mechanism... A such explosion would be sure dead to me.'
