18 Chapter 18
18 Chapter 18
Vesuvius was lying on the floor of his cave, intently looking at the silver bracelet lying in front of him. He moved his snout closer to it and sniffed, 'It smells valuable, so let's check it out!'.

The small dragon frowned, 'It's kinda meh. That bonus to defence is good, but that active effect is kinda weak as I already have my much stronger scales... I guess it is better than nothing.'
He moved his front limb, which already had a ring on it, towards the bracelet lying on the floor. Same as with the ring, the bracelet grew in size and flew up, fastening itself on the dragon's limb.
Then Vesuvius turned his head to look at the damaged scales on his chest. They were still visible holes left by shape pieces of ice, with a revealed layer of newly skin under them.
'This will take a while to heal...' then he grinned, 'unless I evolve, recovering all of my body damage. Also, I have still one more spell from level one dragon magic to learn.'
Vesuvius focused on the circuit of the spell, carefully studying for an hour without moving.
Then the magical symbols flared up inside of his mind and arranged into a complex magical diagram in the shape of a triangle. Magical energy started to flow through the circuit, slowly lighting up all of the symbols in bright orange light. Then energy started to flow from the circuit, using blood vessels containing magic conductive dragon blood, spreading a comfortable warmth through his body. Soon the energy reached his claws and leaked out, his claws igniting in bright condensed flames.
He swung his claws at a nearby stone wall. Claws easily dug into the surface, leaving behind patches of molten and red heated stone.
'Hmm, this was easier than other spells before... I guess it makes sense as I already mastered two other basic spells meaning that I already understood the basic principles behind them.'
Suddenly Vesuvisu grinned up, his teeth showing, 'Wait, I a second, I am not just a fire dragon. I have got a brilliant idea. I wonder if it will work.'
The same magical symbols formed up again, arranged into the same triangular diagram. Vesuvius channelled mana into it. However, this time, he willed his mana to wield a wind attribute. Mana flowed through the circuit. This time however circuit flared up in comfortably looking green light. Energy again came out of the diagram and moved through the veins spreading a refreshing feeling akin to the soft winds throughout his whole body all the way to his claws. This time powerful winds surged around his claws, violently rotating and twisting around them.
Vesuvius brought up his claws close to a wall without touching it. Winds immediately cut a gash into the hard stone.
'This is interesting. Does it work the same way for my projectile spell?'
Yes, Vesuvius had the ability to not only breathe flames but also to breath strong cutting winds all the time. So why didn't he ever use them? The answer was simple, 'Why would I breath out stupid wind when I can breathe a stream of fire boosted by the wind.'. That is correct wind dragons were always considered as one of the weakest in terms of their offensive powers, contrary to the fire dragons that had the greatest offensive power out of all basic element dragons.
Green magical circles flared up inside of the dragon's mouth. Soon, a loud howling sound started to come out of them as winds slowly condensed into an invisible sphere. Vesuvius stood up, suppressing slight pain coming from his injured chest and walked out of his cave. He pointed his towards a nearby cliff and released the spell.
"Howl!" invisible attack accompanied by a loud howling of wind shot forward at an insane speed and reached the cliff in under one second.
"Crack!" massive cracks immediately spread over the cliff, with boulders falling down to the ground.
Vesuvius looked at the site of destruction with a satisfied look, 'Well, wind breath might be useless alone, but this windball is definitely great. It's invisible and extremely fast. I can easily use it to snipe enemies at a great distance without easily noticing from where I attacked.'
The feeling of drowsiness hit the dragon out of nowhere as his instincts were screaming at him to go to sleep to hasten his healing.
The small dragon took one last look at the damage before returning back to his cave. He lay down on his pouch filled with coins and opened his status to check his growth.
