Chapter 50: Showing Off!

Nile sneaked inside as quietly as possible, he already decided not to have any sort of contact with the survivors, especially the shameless type survivors that are on the floor underneath him.

He felt amused though, tonight they are eating to their heart's content, what about tomorrow? Ombit and the others will ditch them, who will fetch them some food then? Will they starve to death?

Why are they doing that though, they look like they are depressed and were just venting their depression on foods?

'Well, that is their problem.' Nile thought.

As he arrived at the meeting room again, she saw Sissa meditating again.

Nile woke Sissa up and said, "Eat first, Sister."

Sissa is startled and dissatisfied at first as she is interrupted, but seeing that it was Nile, she relaxes her tense nerve.

Nike retrieves the ready to eat canned goods from the Storage Space. His supply was getting low again, so he might need to spend some time searching again. The Kanor Department Store is a good choice but there is no longer any zombie's there, it will be a waste of time going there just for a bit of food.

Nile then remembered something. He turned to Sissa and said, "Right, Sister, I nearly forgot, if you could just avoid absorbing the Apocalypse Virus more than once a day. I heard that it will cause various side effects, such as having larger arms, legs, bulging muscles, etc."

Of course, he heard it from the System.

Nile continued, "Absorbing once a day is enough, don't rush it."

Sissa nodded her head seriously. A woman with enlarged arms and legs? That's rare, right? Sissa does not want that.

She heeded Nile's advice seriously and decided to absorb just once a day from now on.

Luckily, Nile has the System, it doesn't matter how much Apocalypse Virus he will absorb a day. The System will spread it evenly on his body and will even neutralize the various side effects that may come.

Nile will not have to worry about something so 'trivial' like that.

After they ate, they talked for a bit before Sissa went to Ombit's group to discuss the plan for tomorrow. Nile accompanied her.

It was already late at night when they came back to the meeting room. Ombit, Polonyo and Goryo, has their own rooms, while the four horsemen shared one. The meeting room is the only room left that had no one occupying it.

As Sissa did not mind it, both she and Nile decided to sleep here. Sissa is even already accustomed to sleeping while she sits. That was always her position for the past months. She would only move when it was time to eat or if she felt numb on her legs.

At dawn tomorrow, they will depart here silently.

Sissa sat on one of the chairs and lied on the table, face down.

Nile laid back on the chair at the other side and put his foot over the table.

As their thoughts drifted, Nile slept and this marked his fourth night into the zombie world.

...

Dawn comes, and Nile was awoken by the light knock on the meeting room's door.

Thinking it was Ombit and the others, he approached Sissa and lightly shook her shoulder and said, "Sister, wake up!"

The room is dim but Nile did not have any problem seeing within five meters from him.

Sissa is startled at first, but after she regains her senses, she looks over, considering the figure's shadow and the voice, she immediately knew it was Nile. Nile has this voice that could be determined easily. It was not high and not low either. In short, it was ordinary.

Sissa then remembered the plan from last night. She stood up instantly and said in panic, "What time is it?"

"Relax, it is still dawn, the one knocking at the door should be your group." Nile said. Sissa calmed a bit after hearing that.

Sissa picks up the bolo, Nile could see the cracks and rust forming on the blade's surface. He estimated that if used continuously, it will not last till tomorrow.

Sissa approached the door and pulled the already useless door knob.

Pakito is on the other side of the door, as instructed by Ombit. He only knocked on the door lightly. As it was already approaching a minute and there was still no sign of an answer from the other side of the door, he decided to lean on the door a bit.

It was at that moment that the door opened abruptly. Because of the sudden opening of the door, Pakito's body leaned forward without stopping.

Sissa saw this and she stepped aside. Pakito fell to the ground face first.

He stood up immediately in embarrassment. He then patted his clothes to shrug off the dirt on it.

"They are already waiting at the back." Pakito said as if nothing had happened. If the room was well illuminated, Sissa would definitely see the blood oozing from Pakito's nose.

Pakito turned around and said, "Follow me!"

Sissa followed suit, and Nile was at her back.

After a little walk, they arrived at the room where Ombit is supposed to sleep.

In Nile's vision, at the corner of the room, he saw the others. They are facing the window. There is no longer glass there as the only thing left is the window's frame.

As they came closer, Nile noticed the clothes that were tied together. It was dropped down like a rope. According to their plan, they will jump off here, and go to the Kanor Department Store to get some food supplies.

Ombit nodded to the newcomer and said, "Who will go first?"

Polonyo and Goryo immediately step back, shaking their heads. The four horsemen also took half a step back.

'They doubt the artificial rope that I made?' Ombit thought. These are curtains tied together to form a long rope, enough to reach the ground from the second floor. But it's strength? That was still in question.

He glanced at Sissa and Nile and instantly averted his gaze to somewhere else.

Ombit sigh and step on the window frame. They are on the second floor, falling from here head first. If you do not end up dead, a screw will definitely loosen on your head.

Ombit gulp, he stretches the tied curtains to test its strength.

Ombit held the curtain tightly and started to descend with the rope-curtain as the support.

After he arrived at the ground, Ombit seemed to be proud of his work and could not help but smile widely.

Seeing that, the group above immediately knew that it was safe. They are now arguing on who will be the next to descend.

They heard a swoosh and looked down to the ground only to become dumbfounded the next second.

Wtf?

Cool?

Wohoo!

Nile was already on the ground, standing beside Ombit. Ombit's mouth was wide open in shock.

'C-cool, but... what a show-off.' Ombit exclaimed inside his head. He could not help but feel jealous all of a sudden.

I'm also a Level One° human, but why is there a huge difference between us? Argh!

Just like the zombies, humans within the same Level doesn't mean equal strength. Even more so, as some of the humans might know some techniques that could boost their overall strength.

Ombit knew that if he did the same stunt as Nile, he would surely break his leg. Nile did not even roll to lighten the impact from the fall.

Well, with Nile's current Constitution, jumping this kind of height is not a problem. He felt that he was only jumping half a meter. It felt like he was doing a normal hop.

There is nothing to worry about.
