Chapter 168: Marquis Amonroth
Chapter 168: Marquis Amonroth
.....
In the end, the Moonlit Path Realm is a realm unlike the ones that came before, with each further realm being analogous to chasms that no amount of effort could hope to help one cross…
Azmodeus's thoughts stirred as he realized the cold, hard truth of the matter, and there was nothing that could be done about it.
But there was still plenty of time until he would need to face off the Astral Principality Prince's that likely neared the Planet Forger Realm, so there was definitely room for improvement.
One might wonder why Azmodeus was so adamant about taking on the Ten Astral Principality Princes and eventually killing them. However, the truth of the matter was that he had no real reasons behind his motives; he simply wished to obtain ten juicy loot bags…
"Loot…"
Azmodeus's dazed murmurs of loot could be heard by no one but himself as he stared up at the roof of his cave. He thought about all the loot he would obtain if the Assembly in the Royal Capital went as planned.
Speaking of the Assembly, a number of Primordial Essence Clones and Mirror Mirages were on their way to the Royal Capital of Azura at this very moment.
Dozens of them traversed the large, verdant green mountain peaks and rocky terrain of the area that separated the Emonius Triade and everything north of it.
There were a few cities and towns in between the two locations, but they were few and far between, with very minimal benefits for the Loot Goblin, so he left them alone and repressed the inner Viking within him.
He wanted to pillage and plunder, take all the loot, and kill the ones deemed untasteful before going on his merry way with good hauls. But with his clone's statuses, he had to be careful which settlements he massacred and with which clone's.
Such actions would also lead to the economy being affected, and that was a big no-no for the money-hungry cave camper. So in the end, he had to force himself to only Assimilate those he knew would not affect his plans of world domination.
These individuals included people like bandits, looters, raiders, mercenaries, pirates, smugglers, and anything else that was far past what was considered 'morally gray' in Azura.
This still allotted a number of points in his Physical Existence Rank, so not everything was so bad. However, of the many clones going to the Assembly in the Royal Capital, there was one in particular who was playing the part of a Marquis—Marquis Amonroth.
There would be many things that would change upon this Primordial Essence Clone making it to an especially opulent mansion to the north of the Capital…
-
"This must be where the various nobles plan to meet—the Doxing Mansion."
Azmodeus looked at the massive 100 thousand+ square foot mansion in the distance. He didn't know if he had ever seen anything so shiny and expensive-looking in his entire life.
Just one look at the resplendent gold shillings and dazzling diamond pillars of the building was all it took for one to understand that Duke Doxing was an extremely affluent man. It also seemed like he was one who doted on his daughter…
"All these statues of a beautiful woman… This must surely be for the birthday celebration…"
Azmodeus glanced at the dozen ice statues scattered throughout the mansion grounds, as some form of holy water gushed out from the mouths of all of them. It made for quite the mesmerizing sight when stacked up alongside the wide array of lavishly decorated spiritual ships flying in from all directions.
WHIZZ! WHIZZ!
A couple relatively larger ones zipped in from a far-off land. The ostentation emitting from their exteriors was enough to leave one blinded due to all the jewels embedded on their oblong starboards.
On the front of this pair of ships, there were two different emblems—emblems that indicated the factions that the owners of the ships were affiliated with.
And considering the extravagance of their rides, it was highly probable that they came from Marquis households.
To have two Marquis's join in on the party so early on… It seems like this Duke Doxing is quite the popular one…
Azmodeus hadn't had any interaction with the Duke with any of his Clone's, but he had heard of his benevolence and magnanimous acts over the years. With the main topics of discussion being centered around his eldest daughter, Jia Lei.
She was known not only for her beauty and talent, but also for the fact that her father was overprotective to the degree that he would go to any lengths to kill the one who even so much as slighted her with a curse word.
The number of men that Duke Doxing has killed in order to keep his daughter away from suitors has long since passed the millions…
But regardless of his homicidal actions, everyone in his territory and the surrounding territories still thought of him as the saint who was meant to save the world.
This was not only due to all the fundraisers and civilian benefit acts that he started up over the last few thousand years. But it was also because he made sure to produce only the best of things in his territory—a territory that mainly consisted of expansive wheat and spiritual grass fields.
The amount of money that he had made for not only himself but for his citizens as well had already surpassed anything that any other fief within millions of miles could hope to imitate!
So even if he went on killing sprees because of his eldest daughter and younger daughters, no one really cared…
-
It had been over three hours since Azmodeus arrived at the Doxing Mansion, and all of his clones were already inside the Mansion's interior, leaving him as the only one left outside.
The majority of the high-ranking and low-ranking nobles had long since arrived as well, so he figured it was time for Marquis Amonroth to make his grand entrance!
