Chapter 405 Thalveros is Too Strong, Moving Away to the Second Path

Chapter 405 Thalveros is Too Strong, Moving Away to the Second Path

The cavern shuddered with every thrash of Thalveros' enormous body, the water reverberating as if caught in an endless earthquake.

Stark was struggling to keep up.

His strikes, meticulous, precise, and devastating against most foes, barely left a mark on the Sentinel's impossibly tough steel-like scales.

Even with his stats doubled from Double Assault, the colossal creature seemed untouchable.

-0!

This was the number that appeared every time.

"What the..."

Another spear ricocheted off the creature's hide, spiraling away uselessly into the abyss.

Stark's breathing grew heavier, frustration mounting.

"This isn't working," he muttered, his six arms tense with effort as he maneuvered away from another devastating swipe of Thalveros' tail.

Each movement sent massive shockwaves through the water, leaving Stark with less and less room to evade.

The Sentinel's laughter echoed, deep and rumbling like a storm.

"You dare call yourself Chosen, yet you are nothing more than an insect flailing in my domain!"

"Shut up," Stark hissed, though the weight of the monster's words pressed against his mind.

Every attack he launched seemed to bounce off, his strength insufficient against a foe this massive.

He was strong, among the strongest of the world, but even he had his limits.

A sudden realization hit him like a chilling current: he was completely outmatched.

"I need to retreat," he thought, gritting his teeth.

Retreat wasn't something Stark liked to consider, but he wasn't foolish enough to keep fighting an impossible battle.

The only other solution was [Heaven's Wrath], but he planned to use it against the apostle to instantly end it.

The battle continued, each exchange more brutal than the last.

Stark narrowly avoided another crushing blow, his Crimson Barrier flashing with warning signals as it absorbed yet another massive impact.

BOOM!

[Crimson Barrier destroyed!]

"Shit..."

Now it was only he and his 290,000 HP left.

But then, amidst the chaos, something unexpected happened.

Thalveros' massive tail slammed into the rocky cavern wall with such force that it fractured the structure.

Cracks spread like veins across the stone, and with one final crash, the wall gave way, revealing a hidden passage illuminated faintly by glowing coral-like formations.

An exit.

Stark's eyes widened. "That's my chance!"

Without hesitation, he darted toward the opening, his movements swift and calculated.

Behind him, Thalveros roared in fury, realizing its prey was attempting to escape.

"You cannot run from me!" the Sentinel bellowed, its voice shaking the chamber as it began to give chase.

The newly revealed passage led into an even darker section of the cavern.

Stark swam through it as fast as he could, his Crimson Spears still glowing faintly to light his way.

The oppressive weight of the water seemed to ease slightly, giving him a small sense of relief.

But as he moved deeper, that relief was quickly replaced by a sinking feeling.

The path twisted sharply, and suddenly, Stark found himself back in the giant cavern with the [Golden Door].

"...Well, I'll come back to that later," he mumbled as he took the left path this time.

This one was different from the last as it went up.

The water here was strangely still, almost eerily so, and the temperature dropped sharply.

"I thought for sure it would go up, weird..."

The path abruptly twisted upward before Stark found himself in an enormous chamber, a hollowed-out expanse, impossibly vast, bathed in an eerie, crimson hue.

In the center of the chamber stood a figure, a towering humanoid creature that radiated an overwhelming aura of menace.

The third guardian.

The creature's body was covered in thick, bone-like armor, its surface etched with glowing blue runes.

It stood at least ten meters tall, its elongated limbs ending in clawed hands that crackled with dark energy.

Its head was crowned with a jagged horn, and its glowing white eyes locked onto Stark the moment he entered the chamber.

[You have encountered "Orithal, the Abyssal Warden!"]

[Level: 750]

[HP: 65,000,000]

[Skills: Abyssal Surge, Void Shackles, Soul Rend, Warden's Command...]

Stark cursed under his breath, his muscles tensing as he prepared for yet another battle.

"Of course. Another oversized freak," he muttered, gripping his spears tightly, "Though this is more manageable."

Orithal's voice boomed, cold and echoing like the depths of the ocean.

"Intruder. You dare trespass further? Your punishment will be eternal suffering."

The Warden raised one of its massive arms, dark energy swirling around its clawed hand.

The water began to churn violently, as if reacting to its power.

Stark could feel the oppressive weight of its aura pressing down on him.

"Yeah, yeah, I've heard it all before," Stark said, his voice laced with defiance.

Despite his confidence, he couldn't deny the exhaustion creeping into his body.

He was already drained from the fight with Thalveros, and now he had to face another monstrosity.

Orithal took a step forward, the water trembling with each movement.

Stark raised his arms, preparing to attack.

But then, the darkness stirred.

Before Orithal could strike, an immense shadow emerged from the abyss below.

The water churned violently as the colossal form of Thalveros surged upward, its glowing yellow eyes burning with fury.

The Sentinel's massive body coiled around the chamber, dwarfing both Stark and the Warden.

"What the—" Stark's eyes widened in disbelief as the second guardian loomed over them both.

He barely had time to react before Thalveros lashed out with one of its massive coils.

Orithal turned sharply, its glowing eyes narrowing as it sensed the threat.

But it was too late.

Thalveros' tail struck with devastating force, wrapping around both Stark and the Warden in a crushing grip.

"HEY, I'M WITH YOU," Orithal shouted.

The pressure was immense, squeezing the air from Stark's lungs and threatening to shatter his bones.

He struggled desperately, his six arms flailing as he tried to free himself.

"Let go!" Stark snarled, summoning a Crimson Ball in one of his hands.

The glowing sphere pulsed with energy as he focused on his escape.

In a split second, Stark threw the crimson ball and activated the ability, teleporting himself out of Thalveros' grasp.

He reappeared several meters away, gasping for breath as he clutched his side.

But Orithal wasn't so lucky.

The Warden thrashed wildly in Thalveros' coils, its massive frame dwarfed by the Sentinel's overwhelming size.

Dark energy crackled around Orithal's body as it tried to free itself, but the Sentinel's grip was unrelenting.

"YOU BITCH!"

"You wouldn't have won anyway," Thalveros laughed, "Now once I get rid of you two, I'll be able to defeat the [Lord of Water Guardians] and become an apostle myself, Chosen is the only thing that's disrupting everthing."

"YOU-"

With a sickening crunch, Thalveros' jaws closed around Orithal's upper body.

The Warden let out a guttural roar, its glowing eyes dimming as its life force was drained away.

The Sentinel shook its prey violently, tearing the Warden apart piece by piece.

Stark watched in stunned silence, his Crimson Spears floating uselessly by his side.

The scene was grotesque, a vivid reminder of just how outmatched he truly was.

"What the fuck..." Stark whispered, his voice barely audible.

Thalveros devoured the remnants of the Warden, its massive form writhing with satisfaction.

The glowing runes on Orithal's armor faded into nothingness, leaving only darkness in their wake.

The Sentinel turned its glowing yellow eyes toward Stark, a wicked grin spreading across its colossal maw.

"Did you truly think you could escape me, little Chosen?"

Stark's heart raced as he realized the full weight of his predicament.

"..."

He tightened his grip on his spears, his mind racing.

There had to be a way out, some kind of strategy to turn the tide.

But as Thalveros began to close the distance by climbing from the abyss, Stark couldn't shake the sinking feeling that he was in over his head.
