Chapter 275: A Single Weakness to Kill an Immortal

Chapter 275: A Single Weakness to Kill an Immortal

"IMMORTAL BERSERKER!"

The [Guardian Ape] which had been hit by the crimson crosses and the explosion that came from them had been down for less than thirty seconds after its HP reached 0 that it was already back up.

The aura around the ape was much stronger, retaining his previous stats in addition to the usage of the [Godly] skill.

A mix of green and blue was inside of his aura, surrounding him completely as he took a few steps that shook the earth toward the boy.

"…" Stark took a few steps back, yet the clone didn't move.

It wasn't smiling anymore either, instead opting for a look of determination in its eyes and face.

And so…

"IMMORTAL SMASH!"

All of the [Guardian's Ape] attacks were enhanced by the [Godly] skill, making it even more difficult to avoid.

BOOOOOOM!

The ape smashed the ground by joining its two hands together and hitting it with all its strength, a green aura surrounding them.

FWISH!

The ENTIRE valley shook from that, and Stark actually jumped slightly from that, taking three more steps back.

"…" the clone on the other hand…

"Huh?"

[The "Superior Clone" has been hit.]

Its HP went to 0 because of the impact of the smash.

The guardian ape also got smarted: its goal wasn't to just show off, but it sent a wave toward the clone, dealing minimal damage, yet enough to kill it as it faded off, and its aura seeped back into Stark's body.

"FUCK."

Stark had lost his clone, and now he was alone against that thing, who was still approaching him.

But the worst was yet to come for Stark.

Because he hadn't realized just how truly fucked he was while the [Guardian Ape] was using [Immortal Berserker].

Soon enough he would figure it out, though, as he used [Perception] to check out the skill's description.

….

[Skill: Immortal Berserker]

[Description: If the ape is one shot or on the verge of dying, he can instinctively activate this skill to revive himself from the dead and give himself a massive boost in power.

In the "berserker" form, the guardian ape CANNOT be killed, no matter what, it has an infinite amount of health, and its only way to come back to life is to kill the opponent in front of it.

This effect lasts five minutes.]

[Tip: endure for five minutes or find another way to end it for good, there is one.]

"…" Stark's jaw almost dropped to the ground as he read the description on the panel, making sure to observe the massive figure of the guardian ape behind the panel as it approached him, its tiny eyes glowing as its target was in its view.

Stark lifted his eyes toward the ape as he closed the panel.

And…

[Guardian Ape HP: ?/1,100,000]

Its HP were indeed infinite, with no way for Stark to ever hope to hurt it.

[Survive for five minutes, if it kills you it can revive.]

This was the current challenge.

But Stark couldn't ignore one simple thing: the tip right under the skill's description spoke about a way to kill it for good, even in this form.

"IMMORTAL RAPID SLAMMING," yet before he could even do anything…

FWISH!

The ape lunged forward so fast that it was almost invisible to him, but thankfully enough the fact his HP were at 1 meant that domination was currently in its strongest form to keep the host alive.

"INVINCIBLE DODGE!" and so he began to roll away while avoiding some of the strikes, each creating a crater in the crater and shaking the sunken valley.

This was truly a battle between two monsters.

[3:47 remaining]

But Stark knew he couldn't hold on for more than one minute against that thing, and it almost seemed like it was playing with him, smashing the ground again and sending a wave of aura that Stark avoided by jumping.

"He is done."

"Hm…"

"That skill is truly weird, undeserving of such a lowly ape."

The apostles were discussing one another.

The only one that was mostly calm was the [Godless Demon] and the [Crimson Moons Trio], who kept observing, waiting for something to happen.

Until the battle was finished, they wouldn't conclude anything.

And so what followed… was a one-sided beat down.

"IMMORTAL GROUND POUND!" the ape would jump, trying to land its butt on Stark's face, who would jump out of the way in the last second.

"AURA SMASH!" he tried to send some attacks, but once they hit the ape, they would immediately disintegrate; not stopping its assault.

"TREE SWING! POISONOUS POO!" with one hand it would grab one of the nearby trees and swing it at Stark, giving it a massive range, while on the other hand it would… well… throw what the skill spoke off.

"SHIT! SHIT, LITERAL SHIT..!"

Boom! Boom!

Stark was actually surprised by his abilities to be on the defensive, avoiding everything by a hair's length every time. Stay immersed with m-vl-em-py-r

Even the apostles were surprised, and the ape even more: any human by now should have died, yet here he was, still running around, his stamina not exhausting at all as the domination adrenaline and aura was still pumping.

"JUMPING SWEEP!" it then tried to jump in the air and swing its arm sideways as it was falling, but Stark would throw a [Crimson Ball Transmission] ball on the other side and avoiding this wide attack.

[2:54 remaining], and yet, with all of that, less than a minute had passed.

Stark could feel it in his bones that he wouldn't survive any longer than this: he needed a way to win.

But how do you even kill a monster that is immortal?

In theory, this shouldn't be possible, thus the [Immortal] connotation.

But maybe… just maybe…

"GROOOAKK"

~SLAM~

"GROOAKKS!"

~SLAM, SLAM, SLAM~

The ape was relentless now, not even bothering to use skills, instead opting for the easiest option: attack endlessly until the human gets tired or makes a mistake.

'Shit…'

~FWISH~

Stark kept avoiding, and avoiding, and… avoiding.

The more seconds passed, the harder it became for him to avoid, almost as if the guardian ape was adapting to his moves, and the more time passed, the closer these attacks came to him.

[You have approximately… ten seconds before getting hit.]

Even a warning came to inform him of his demise.

And yet, Stark wasn't paying attention to any of that: he had let his instincts take over his body, focusing entirely on the battle inside of his head.

He was fighting a simple question: how to kill that thing before the time ended.

[Tip: find another way to end it for good, there is one.]

If there is a way to kill that thing without waiting for the end of the timer, then he must find it.

"Come…"

~FWISH, FWISH~

He propelled himself off the ground to get out of a sweep's way and used [Invincible Dodge] to avoid three quick [Rapid Slamming].

"On…"

If the 'weakness' to kill it was around, then it meant it wasn't part of Stark's arsenal, else he would have figured it out already, and neither could it be in the environment as they kept moving around while the ape didn't care.

And so that meant… that the weakness was probably on the beast itself.

"GOROOAKKS!" the guardian ape finally roared, which roughly translated to "die" as it swung for a final time.

And this time… Stark couldn't avoid it, he felt it in his soul that it was over.

But even then… even at this moment where he knew he could die… Stark's eyes widened, and a small smile grew on his face as he finished analyzing the ape's body.

Why, you might ask?

Well… because he saw it.

He saw the weakness, the way to win while the ape was immortal.
