Chapter 544: Chapter 544: Forced Stealth

Flash Thunder Strike!

Without giving Kun Jue a glance, Song Jian turned around and rushed towards the Wild King Bee. A streak of lightning flashed three times in quick succession. The Wild King bee let out a piercing shriek, as it exploded into fragments, as though a delicate porcelain was smashed to pieces.

Song Jian was stunned for a moment. He didn’t expect such a strong reaction from the death of the Wild King Bee. However, now that it was dead, Song Jian casually picked up the few items it had dropped and glanced cautiously around him.

Although Kun Jue seemed to have left, Song Jian believed he wouldn’t give up so easily. He was likely still lurking in the vicinity, perhaps even gritting his teeth and staring at him bitterly.

“Those two Bee King Poison Needles…I wouldn’t dare to let them hit me casually. The venom alone… it would be enough to drive a person mad,” Song Jian thought of Kun Jue tormented by the venom of the Wild King Bee, a faint smile appearing on his face.

After waiting for a while, as Kun Jue didn’t show up, Song Jian carefully exited the stone forest. The monster respawn rate in this area was rapid, and carelessness could result in being swarmed by wild bees.

Once he was out of the stone forest, Song Jian began to examine the spoils in his inventory.

First was the almost guaranteed drop of Wild King Bee honey. This time, he had gotten three portions. These could be used to brew three bottles of Bee King Wine but after looking at the properties of the Wild King Bee honey, Song Jian became hesitant, unsure if he should brew into a Bee King Wine which only restored Spirit Points.

“Wild King Bee Honey: ingestible and used in brewing. Effect 1: Immediate consumption restores 800 Vitality Points and 200 Spirit Points, and continuously restores 500 Vitality Points and 150 Spirit Points over the next 30 seconds. Upon first use, permanently increases physical attribute by 1 point. Subsequent uses will not increase attribute points. Effect 2: Can be used for brewing Bee King Wine.”

The properties of the Wild King Bee Honey were so great, it made Song Jian feel that turning it into Bee King Wine, besides the taste and the restoration of 1,000 Spirit Points, didn’t have any other benefits. For magic users, maybe the wine would be better, but for Song Jian, the honey was more suitable, especially the permanent increase in physical attributes after direct consumption.

After reviewing the properties of the Wild King Bee honey, Song Jian turned his gaze to the next item.

“Soul Capturing Bead: Special Item, Silver Grade, Item Level 28, Usage Effect: Allows players to store Spirit Points/Mana Points/Magic Points and other types of energy. When players have exhausted their energy, they can continue using the stored energy in the bead. The bead’s maximum storage capacity is 0/2000. This item can be used while stored in the inventory. Can only be used by players of Level 25 or above.”

“This is useful, but not for me. I can only put it in the guild warehouse and see if others need it,” Song Jian muttered with some disappointment.

This item could be viewed as a permanent energy potion which did not clash with recovery potions used during the cooldown period. It might save the lives of magic users at critical moments.

However, it had limited value for Song Jian. His Invisible Sword Qi recovery speed was swift, he didn’t need to store it. But magic users might find it particularly useful.

Many magic users might not even have 2,000 mana points, but with this bead, they could go all out with their spells in battle, instantly transforming into an artillery platform with infinite firepower, truly terrifying.

Song Jian was confident that once this item hit the auction house, all magic users would try to get their hands on it. They would spend their fortune, if necessary, to possess the bead.

Apart from these two items, the boss also dropped some materials for forging like the Bee King Poison Needle and Bee King Wing as well as some for making potions like the Bee King Poison Sac and Bee King Honey Gland. All items were of blue quality and had a high value.

After checking his gains, Song Jian stood under a massive rock, his mind whirring as a pair of iron wings appeared behind his back. He fanned them a couple of times, before loudly stating, “If you’re not making a move, I’ll leave…”

Before he completed his sentence, a dark figure dropped from midair with a dagger in hand that let out a harsh shriek as it aimed for Song Jian’s head.

“I knew you wouldn’t let it end!” Song Jian sneered, stamping his foot and flapping his wings twice quickly. His figure moved sideward with the swiftness of electricity.

Ever since Song Jian left the stone forest, he felt as if he was being watched, as though a thorn was pricking at his back. He knew Kun Jue, the assassin of Death’s Scythe, lied in wait in the vicinity. Kun Jue could not accept his defeat and would definitely attack again.

Song Jian displayed his iron wings to send a message to Kun Jue that if he did not strike soon, Song Jian would take to the skies, at which point locating him would be much harder.

Furthermore, he had carefully chosen this spot. Within a few hundred meter radius, there was only this massive rock. By standing with his back against the rock, he protected himself from an ambush from behind. Assassins had many high burst skills that required launching from behind their target. By leaning against this rock, Song Jian could avoid being killed by Kun Jue in an instant strike from behind.

The time and location were almost entirely dictated by Song Jian. The second assassination attempt had lost its element of a surprise attack. Yet, what surprised Song Jian was that Kun Jue had been hiding on top of the rock behind him and had launched an attack straight downward.

Kun Jue descended from the sky, his dagger aiming for Song Jian’s head as he executed the Knockout skill. If the attack landed, Song Jian would be stunned for a solid eight seconds. Even though one could wake up with a shock of damage, Kun Jue could take advantage of this gap to select the perfect position and finish him off.

Song Jian flapped his wings and held his longsword vertically in front of him. With a ‘clang’, the dagger and longsword clashed, releasing a burst of golden light. With a flip in mid-air, Song Jian retreated a couple of steps.

However, Kun Jue felt a severe pain in his forehead, and his body became stiff and unable to move. A stunned symbol appeared in his status bar.

“How can this be…” Kun Jue was furious. His own skill was reflected back on him. Not only was the damage reflected, but also the negative status effect. This was impossible!

A hint of a smile crossed Song Jian’s face. His longsword, crackling with electricity, swung straight at Kun Jue.

Flash Thunder Strike!

Six damage figures floated above Kun Jue’s head in an instant, and his Vitality Points shrank by a third in a flash. This damage startled Kun Jue, and his body released a puff of white smoke and disappeared.

Forced Stealth!

Song Jian frowned. A skill to enter stealth mode in combat was definitely a rare skill. Having so many rare skills, Kun Jue must be one of the elites in the Death’s Scythe.
