Chapter 317: Slay The Slayer
"Fuck! I died!" Emerging from the ground in a parched land was a lone strand of grass, one that condensed a mouth that cursed in response.
The stalk of grass slowly grew in size, gaining mass over time as it soon grew into the size of a tree. After that, it squirmed, jutting out of the ground as it condensed into the figure of Dwun that gasped as he collapsed on the ground.
The roots slowly exited the ground and returned to his feet as he panted, lacking energy. Even as a Grassmen, he had taken significant damage.
"That freaking porcelain is dangerous!" He muttered, shuddering in response.
Of course, he was referring to the Elf. Earlier, when he was rampaging around Shyvern's hideout by relying upon the almost infinite vitality of the Grassmen, the other System Hosts were slowly getting cornered.
After all, there was a limit to how long they could fight. Even if they had a lot of energy, they weren't killing machines that didn't get tired. But he, on the other hand, had no such restrictions, capable of fighting nonstop.
And, as long as a part of his body was buried underground, it replenished him with enough resources to fight. Moreover, he tried to convert his foes into Grassmen and bring them under his control.
And as long as the fight dragged on, his advantage continued to increase. After all, even though his enemies had the capabilities to overpower him, they lacked the means to kill him.
But, that changed once the Elf arrived at the place, instantly unleashing a spell that targeted all the grass, causing it to wilt as its moisture was sucked out.
Within a matter of seconds, Dwun was killed.
Thankfully for him, he had already planted his seed in someplace far away, hence able to revive now. But upon recalling the Elf's expression of arrogance, he shuddered, "Fuck! He's overpowered!"
Back at the mansion, the Elf gazed at Shyvern and Kalata, the Host to the Face Slapping System, saying, "You've lost the initiative this time. Group up and swarm the enemy this time. I'll handle Compass."
Even though it seemed like the Elf was talking to them, in reality, he was addressing the Systems in them. They had already interacted with the Elf in the previous loops, so they were aware of its strength.
So, the moment they received its orders, a meeting began in the Astral Network.
[Face Slapping (Level 10): I fear we should change our plans. The Slayer has already warned of our weakness. We shouldn't push our luck so much, especially since Young Master and Reality Marble have been kidnapped by our enemy]
[Villain Maker (Level 9): I concur. We should group up first and decide from there.]
[Happy-Go-Lucky (Level 88): Don't rush into a decision yet. The reason we don't wish to group everyone is that if you are at one place, it'll become easier for the Coincidental Luck System to target you]
[Face Slapping (Level 10): Bur sir, there were four of us in one place, but despite that, two of us had been kidnapped. This early into the apocalypse, the advantages of our Hosts haven't accumulated enough. If we had a couple of years to prepare, it would be easier]
[Destiny Luck (Level 92): By then, Rhizen would become even more troublesome. He's our goal. The rest are but a distraction]
[Beast Form System (Level 9): Your Majesty, I think it'll be better for us to group up. As long as the big Lords support us with your luck, we won't have to worry about Coincidental Luck and kill both Rhizen and the enemy]
[Destiny Luck (Level 92): You make a fair enough point. With the support of my luck, your Hosts would soon obtain the means to travel far without trouble. And Happy-Go-Lucky's luck will support you once you group up]
The Destiny Luck System then laid out an elaborate plan that involved using the luck of every luck-based System that was present in the group. Even if the rest of the luck-based Systems recognised its scheme, they couldn't go against it for the time being.
After all, if they revolted, there was a good chance Destiny Luck System and Coincidental Luck System would partner to deal with all the luck-based Systems first before duking it out between each other.
So, they could only swallow their anger and go along with the plan.
[Happy-Go-Lucky (Level 88): Alright, once you group up, I'll support you]
…
'Guess that's the plan for now.' The Beast Form System thought as it generated a Quest to Krager to group up at a certain location. After that, thanks to the support of Destiny Luck, he managed to obtain the power of a certain bird that he had been aiming for all along.
…
A day later, in a certain marshland were countless crocodiles that roamed around, with the weakest of them sporting two horns while the strongest already had four horns. And at the very entre existed a massive reptilian creature, emanating a suffocating aura, having already begun to grow its fifth horn, attaining status as the lord of the region.
Its authority affected not only the crocodiles but also the other creatures in the region.
At present, the crocodile half peaked in the shallow water, opening its mouth to take in the sunlight, appearing docile.
Situated atop its back was a straw umbrella, large enough to resemble a house. And, arranged underneath it were around thirty chairs. Seated among one of them was a teenager, looking bored as he drank some coconut juice.
He donned a piece of scaly armour, looking like it was created using crocodile skin. As he continued to wait, a breathtakingly beautiful lady landed, retracting her swan-like wings as she looked around, uttering through her chirpy voice, "Am I the first to arrive?"
"A beauty!" The teenager laughed as he got up and offered her a seat, taking out some juice that he presented to her.
Right after her arrival, shadows appeared in the sky as countless figures landed atop the crocodile's back one after another. The aura exuded by some caused even the crocodile to be alarmed.
The teenager patted it, calming him down as he received everyone, offering them some coconut juice as he spoke, "Everyone, thank you for arriving. I know you are tired from the long travel, but we already have a task to do. One of us has been trapped by what is known as a Slayer… We have to rescue our comrade and slay the Slayer."
