Chapter 529 - 529 - Meet Jean
Chapter 529 - 529 - Meet Jean
Not long after, they finally arrived at their destination, which was Jean's house. Soo Yin continued to observe Jean's house which was closed and looked very quiet.
"Are you sure Jean is home?" Dae Hyun said with a frown. Didn't want to let Soo Yin come there but no one was there.
"I'm sure because I contacted Chang Yuan. He said that while she wasn't feeling well, Jean never went anywhere," said Soo Yin. At first she wanted to contact Jean but she would definitely refused if she would be visited.
"Alright, after picking up Yeon Ho we'll meet again." Dae Hyun gripped Soo Yin's fingers tightly. There was a feeling of reluctance to part with her even if only for a moment. Remembered that today they should enjoy the day just by the two of them.
Soo Yin landed a sweet kiss on Dae Hyun's lips as a goodbye. This made the man tighten his grip even more.
"Let's go by ourselves today," said Dae Hyun in a spoiled tone.
"Go, you said you wanted to pick Yeon Ho up. Tonight we will also be together again," said Soo Yin as she pulled her wrist but Dae Hyun didn't intend to let her go.
"I want all day and all night with you. You should know when I'm at work, I miss you a lot."
"Don't overdo it like that. You've already allowed me to see Jean. Should we go home again?" Soo Yin grumbled as she pursed her lips.
"Hmmm, fine. You can go but don't make a pout face like that in front of me."
Soo Yin immediately widened her smile to be allowed to get off immediately. If she didn't follow Dae Hyun's words, she would probably be in the car until the afternoon without being able to meet Jean.
Dae Hyun chuckled then ruffled the top of Soo Yin's head.
Soo Yin immediately opened the car door so Dae Hyun wouldn't hold her anymore. She had a bad feeling about Jean this time. She can only hope that she was fine.
Soo Yin knocked on the door in a low voice. Afraid that Jean, who was resting, would be surprised by her arrival.
"Jean, are you in there?" She said as she peeked through the window but unfortunately there were curtains blocking her vision.
No answer was heard, only the faint voice of Jean who was vomiting in the bathroom.
Anxiety immediately spread throughout Soo Yin's body so she pushed open the door, which was not locked. With quick steps, Soo Yin immediately entered Jean's room. She looked around the empty and messy room as if it had been neglected.
Soo Yin's gaze was instantly fixed on the vitamins and pregnancy information book which were lying on the bed. This strengthened Soo Yin's hunch even more. On the nightstand there was a box of powdered milk which was usually consumed by pregnant women.
Soo Yin immediately held on to the dressing table as her body was about to collapse from staggering. But she tried to think positively maybe it was all just a neighbor's who happened to be left in Jean's room.
"There's no way Jean is pregnant," Soo Yin mumbled with her eyes closed, trying to calm her heart so that negative thoughts would quickly disappear from her mind.
"Who is Jean pregnant with?" Even though she tried but in fact the question just slipped out of her lips.
Check…
Jean had just come out of the bathroom after throwing up all the contents of her stomach. She then froze in the doorway to see Soo Yin who was standing with her back to her. Her heart was beating so fast that she bit her lower lip.
Soo Yin immediately turned around when she realized Jean was already outside the bathroom. She tried to act casual, pretending if she didn't know anything.
"Jean, I missed you." With a big smile, Soo Yin immediately approached Jean and then hugged her tightly.
"Me too," Jean replied softly then returned Soo Yin's hug with her weak hand. She didn't know how to explain everything to Soo Yin about her pregnancy. She guessed that Soo Yin would've known everything.
Soo Yin let go of her embrace.
"Jean, are you still sick? How about we go to the doctor so you'll get better soon?" asked Soo Yin with a sad look. Seeing Jean looking increasingly pale and thin made her not have the heart.
"I'm fine. After a few days, I'm sure I'll be fine." Jean's voice sounded hoarse as if she had been crying.
Soo Yin could even clearly see the dark circles on Jean's eyelids which now looked wrinkled and puffier.
"Jean, I know you lied to me. Don't you think of me as a best friend anymore so you hide everything from me?" Soo Yin said with a gloomy face. There was a feeling of disappointment in her heart because Jean did not want to share important stories of her life.
Jean let out a long sigh then walked to the window. Her eyes looked far away. She didn't know where to start to talk about it.
"Jean, if you tell me, maybe I can help you," said Soo Yin gently who was already standing right behind Jean.
"What do you want to know and what I have to tell you?" said Jean in an even tone.
"Tell me, why are these things in your room?" Soo Yin grabbed the milk box that was on the nightstand and showed it to Jean.
"You should've known the answer." Jean's eyes began to tear up, her memories returned to that very bitter night.
"Jean, tell me who made you like this?" Soo Yin urged with a very tight fist.
"You also know someone who did it," Jean said with her head hung low, trying to hold back her tears.
The only man that Soo Yin could think of who was now close to Jean was Chang Yuan. But Soo Yin brushed it off of her mind.. There was no way Chang Yuan would do anything irresponsible to Jean.
