Greetings, Mister Principal

Chapter 67: Reward

After sending off Mr. Groot, Reiner returned to the principal's office. He went through the file cabinet to read the student information, trying to check Dana's situation.

Since Luna Nova Magical Academy didn't have many students, Reiner quickly found Dana Christine's admission information.

After reading the folders that had been covered by dust for three years, Reiner discovered that the facts were not at all what he thought.

Originally, Reiner thought that Dana's family should be a poor nobleman with only a title left, but the information stated that her parents were genuine mages.

Adol Christine and Elena Christine were both fourth-ring mages, but they died ten years ago due to the collapse of a half demiplane. Dana's current guardian was her uncle, Chester Christine.

"The collapse of a demiplane?"

Reiner knew that there were many demiplanes in the world called Atlas. These demiplanes had abundant resources, unique ecological environments, and all kinds of strange Biological existence; so far, mages had put 302 demiplanes under their rule.

The collapse of the demiplane was very rare. It was usually caused by irreversible damage to the core of the plane. Even the fourth-ring mage would be helpless when facing the collapse of the demiplane and would be buried in the void.

"Is it because she has inherited the blood of her parents, so her magic reserve is higher than ordinary people?"

Reiner thought. Normally, the failure of casting a magic spell would not cause that level of destructive power. After seeing Dana's background, Reiner realized that perhaps the bloodline mage's theory was not completely fallacious. The children born between the mages indeed had greater magical reserves.

But it was obvious that under the modern magic system, Dana could not successfully construct a spell model, so no amount of magic energy would help.

Reading through Dana's transcript again, Reiner found that the student's written test scores were good, but the courses that required actual magical spells casting tests were all very bad without exception. It seemed that she might be the kind of student who was difficult to cast spells.

Knock, knock...

There was a knock on the door, it turned out to be Claire.

She still wore the old-fashioned mage's robe, but instead of wearing a pointed cap, she tied her hair back to her head, exposing her ears, making her look a bit more youthful.

"I seemed to hear a loud bang from the old Star Observation Tower just now. Did you tear it down?"

Claire knew that Reiner was going to rebuild the Star Observation Tower, so she asked.

"No, something happened... By the way, Claire, do you know Dana Christine?"

Reiner suddenly remembered that Claire was the dean in this school, so he asked.

"Dana, what's wrong? She is a good kid. She usually works part-time and helps Mrs. Freya to do a lot of work."

Claire squinted slightly, as if a cat was alert, worried that Reiner would do strange things to Dana again.

"Do you know what happened to her parents?"

"Parents? Doesn't she have only one uncle?"

Claire tilted her head and bit her fingers, as if thinking.

"Sigh, I shouldn't ask those questions."

Rainer sighed softly, and then handed the note with Dana's parents' names to Claire.

"Can you help me to go to the library to check the information about these two people? The papers they have published and related news reports from ten years ago."

"Huh, are these two Dana's parents?"

Looking at the note, Claire asked.

"Mhm, I met her today, so I was a little curious."

He replied. Reiner didn't plan to solve the students' troubles one by one. He was simply interested in the study of Dana's parents. What were demiplanes and what was the composition of the world? This was something that he couldn't learn on earth.

"Alright then..."

Claire felt helpless, but still accepted the note.

"By the way, Sharon said that the second batch of paintings has been completed, so if you have time, she wants you to confirm them. Mr. Antoine also has made some improvements to the Cola production line. Also, this letter is from Rainbow Tower. I think it should be the result of the paper review."

Reiner's work has gradually become hectic recently, but Claire was a good help in planning his itinerary, making work arrangements, and taking on the work of a secretary.

It would be great if she could put on the corresponding uniform, Reiner couldn't help but think.

He took the envelope, which should be the main reason for Claire's arrival, then checked the mark of the Rainbow Tower on it, and then opened it.

Claire was right. It was indeed the review result of the paper.

Unlike the previous one, this review opinion was not divided into three parts, but only one piece of paper.

As usual, skipping the repetition of the abstract paragraph, Reiner focused on the review result,

'Dear Mr. Reiner Ian Gray, for your thesis "analysis of the properties and compounds of the two new elements "Occles" and "Hydra" obtained by electrolysis of water, and several conjectures about combustion theory", after careful review, the review committee made the following review: the paper is rigorous, the experimental design is reasonable, the logic is clear, the experimental content is groundbreaking and subversive, and the properties of the discovered elements are fully measured. The rejection of the old theories and the proofs put forward by the new theories are justified and convincing, and the way of thinking contained therein deserves to be promoted.'

Following this official comment, there was a comment written by His Excellency Frederick Demetrius,

'Rainer Ian Gray's thesis not only revealed to us the deeper mystery of matter, but also told everyone that strength and rank cannot limit one's exploration of the truth. Even ordinary people can drive the wheel of history.'

Finally, there was a simple sentence of the review result.

The paper is approved, and you will be rewarded three hundred academic points.'

"Three hundred academic points..."

Reiner put aside the review comments and thought.

In addition to the citation points, the paper on the electrolysis of water should be able to bring him more than 3,000 points. From the perspective of academic points alone, this was enough for Luna Nova Magical Academy to meet the standards of the sixth-level college. For now, Reiner could focus on renovating the school and waiting for the school inspection to come.

"Three hundred points!"

Claire's eyes were wide open. Although she expected Reiner's thesis to cause a sensation, the three hundred academic points were still unprecedented. In history, probably only His Excellency Isaris's thesis of the three laws of motion could be comparable to this.

If the scope was limited to the realm of non-high-level mages, then this result was indeed unprecedented.

More importantly, he was just a mage apprentice!

"Huh, there is another piece of paper here."

Reiner looked at the envelope. There was also a sheet of paper which recorded the citation credits for his first paper. To his surprise, the paper published in the Monthly Alchemist Griffin also gained him 500 academic points.

"This is really a windfall."
