Chapter 53: The Eve

After bidding farewell to Peter, Reiner asked all the way to the hotel booked for him by Mercury Balance.

Unlike the slightly run-down Black Crow Hotel where Peter lived, this hotel called Silver Rose was very stylish. The reception hall alone was much larger than the small building of the Black Crow Hotel. The ten-story building was very prominent in the row of low-rise buildings with no more than five floors, and it looked like a hotel that most people couldn't afford to live in.

As soon as he walked into the hotel, Reiner quickly felt that the guests here were not ordinary.

A mage passing by has four gilded strips on the cuffs. On the sofa by the side of the hall, the two mages in the discussion also had four strips. Obviously, this should be the hotel where the middle-level mages stayed.

Someone quickly noticed Reiner, but didn't say much. In the past, there were also low-level mages who paid a lot of money to buy in the hotel and were able to stay in the hotel during the conference. This was considered a fairly expensive way of trying one's luck.

Of course, there was no way to know how effective this approach could be.

After checking in, Reiner boarded the mechanical elevator controlled by the waiter and came to his room on the seventh floor.

It was said to be a hotel room, in fact, it was more like a fully equipped residence. Except for the huge bedroom, there was also a study room. The living room was bright and spacious. When the curtains were opened, he could see Lake Wagner not far away. The largest freshwater lake in the southern part of the continent stretched for thousands of miles, shimmering in the afternoon sun, and a luxurious mansion by the lake could be seen. It was the place where the annual meeting of the mercury balance was held.

"Tomorrow?"

Reiner murmured to himself, so far he didn't know why the mages of Mercury Balance would ask him a little principal to come here, but based on his treatment, it shouldn't be a bad thing.

After unpacking his stuff for a while, Reiner went downstairs to the restaurant on the first floor.

The accommodation included meals, so he naturally chose to have dinner in the hotel.

It was a little earlier, but there were already many people in the restaurant. Almost without exception, they were all middle-level mages. Reiner noticed that their food was relatively simple, and some even only had a few slices of bread and a bowl of soup. It seemed that the long-term research life had made them lose interest in food.

Reiner didn't care about this. He ordered a pan-fried cod with lemon sauce, a sweet shrimp and vegetable soup, a seared beef shoulder, and of course, full buttered bread and red wine to accompany the meal.

After ordering the dishes, Reiner flipped through the menu again, and couldn't help but regret that he couldn't find an option for Cole, but the dishes that were ready soon made him shine the light of excitement.

To cater to these middle-level mages, the quality of the food the silver rose provided was naturally very good. The cod meat was crispy on the surface and soft on the inside. With the refreshing lemon sauce, it provided a rich and layered taste, giving off a refreshing smell of the sea. What was more noteworthy was that these cod fish also had reddish cod roe, which burst into pieces in the mouth, bringing extraordinary taste enjoyment.

The seared beef shoulder had the smell of flame, soft and chewy, and the black pepper sauce penetrated into the gaps of the meat, revealing the wild taste to the fullest. On occasion, the tiny vanilla in the sauce would release a different flavor, making the flavor of the whole dish change instantly. The remaining taste would linger between the lips and teeth, and be unable to disperse for a long time.

After eating meat, Reiner took another sip of the fresh sweet shrimp and seasonal vegetable soup. The prawn meat was tender and blended with seasonal vegetables. This was completely different from the previous two dishes. The light soup flowed into the throat and warmed his stomach that had been working hard for a day.

The food was delicious, which made Reiner have a great mood.

Two mages sat down at the table next to him, discussing something, but soon, their actions caught Reiner's attention.

"This is the drink I asked someone to buy in the south of Aster. It is called Cole. It has a very special taste. I think you must try it."

The brown-haired man who said this was a fourth-ring mage.

"Cole."

Another man with light red and short hair frowned slightly, obviously feeling suspicious about the bottle of black drink.

"Don't show that expression, when did I lie to you."

The person holding the Cola lined up two cups and poured iced Cole into the cup.

"The last time I bought the ore for the experiment, and when the professor assigned the two of us to do a verification experiment, and when we went out to play with Mena, and... "

The man with light red and short hair counted, making the brown-haired man's face a little awkward. He showed an awkward smile and chuckled.

"Trust me this time, it's definitely worth a try."

The brown-haired man pushed the glass of Cola in front of his friend, and then he also picked up the Cola and took a sip.

"Then I will believe you this time."

The man with light red and short hair was still feeling suspicious. Until he saw that the brown-haired man didn't have any unusual reaction after drinking Cola, he took a sip.

He was then stunned immediately. Just like other people who had come into contact with this drink for the first time, until the feeling in his mouth subsided, he recovered and couldn't help taking another sip.

The brown-haired man watched his friend's reaction triumphantly and took a sip of Cola.

"Told you, this drink is very special and can stimulate the spirit. I think if we can introduce it to the Rainbow Tower, we will definitely make a lot of money."

"This is the first time I think you are right."

After drinking the Cola in the cup, the man with light red and short hair looked at the empty cup and said.

The two ordered some more dishes and continued to chat. It seemed that this was the first batch of Cole and there were no mage cards attached. However, seeing the reaction of the two, Reiner also came up with the idea of expanding the Cola business to the entire continent. Relying solely on word of mouth and the joining of Alchemy Workshop, the expansion speed was still a bit slow. If there was a chance, Reiner would like to contact the upper levels of the Rainbow Tower.

Of course, all of this was just an assumption. He needed more resources. In addition to purchasing journals and maintaining the production of Cole, the rest of the initial income was ready to be invested in the repairs of the Luna Nova Magical Academy. At least he must keep this school.

After eating and drinking, Reiner did not go to find Peter or wander around in the city. Instead, he went back to his room. According to the instructions attached to the invitation letter, the meeting officially started at nine o'clock tomorrow morning. But he should arrive before that.

Therefore, Reiner slept very early. The bed of the Silver Rose was soft and comfortable, and the lake at night reflected the moonlight, creating a wonderful and peaceful scene
