Chapter 32: Theft

Chapter 32: Theft
At night, the old street was quiet and most of the shops had been closed. There were no pedestrians here at night, and it gave off a lonely feeling even more at this moment. Only the lit street lamps left a faint shadow on the road.
In the corner of the old street, the Antoine Alchemy Workshop was still lit.
Antoine put down the cup in his hand and scanned the working conditions of each alchemy magic circle again, only then cut off its magic power supply and stopped the magic circle.
Of course, he couldn't let the circle continue to work while he was asleep. Otherwise, if something went wrong while he was asleep, his alchemy workshop might be blown up directly. Antoine put everything in order before slowly walking upstairs, going back to the bedroom, and getting ready to sleep.
About an hour later, when the snoring upstairs was gradually getting louder, Antoine's door was quietly pried open, and a figure crept into the alchemy workshop.
"It's so simple."
Sanderson was wearing coarse black clothes. This kind of fabric that had accompanied him for many years in the past made him feel very uncomfortable at this time. He walked very lightly and made almost no sound. After all, theft was his old business.
If it was the Piram Alchemy workshop, when Sanderson opened the door lock, the buzzer of the alarm magic would sound, but the arrangement and maintenance of that special magic circle required a lot of money, and Antoine couldn't afford it.
Sanderson came to the side of the alchemy magic circle and took out a dark green stone from his pocket.
He certainly didn't know how to use magic, but what Piram gave to Sanderson was a genuine magic item.
This kind of magic props called record stones could perfectly replicate the structure of a magic circle. It was a creation left over from ancient magic, and its specific principles have not been analyzed by modern magic.
In the beginning, the record stone was used for archaeology. When mages found the ancient magical relics, they used the record stone to record the runes and magic circles that were difficult to resolve, so they could study them once they went back. It was now a convenient means of copying and was used to carry small and medium-sized magic circles.
Sanderson activated the record stone in accordance with the method that Piram said. After a green light swept across, the magic circle for the Cola's production line was copied completely without any imperfection.
"It's time to leave now."
Sanderson thought, but he suddenly found that the surroundings were silent, and the snoring that had been going on before had stopped.
For a moment, Sanderson was sweating coldly, he hurriedly put away the record stone and walked towards the door.
"You thief!"
There was a roar from behind Sanderson, followed by a hot air current.
Even Sanderson, who was completely incapable of using magic, could catch the trail of the burning flame in mid-air from the corner of his eye.
One ring magic - fireball.
The egg-sized core was surrounded by red flames, which hit Sanderson directly.
Sanderson hurriedly threw himself to the ground. The fireball scratched his head, leaving a burnt mark on his hair, and hit the wooden door. It just happened to open an escape path for Sanderson.
Panicked, Sanderson hurriedly crawled out of the shop. The night was dark, his figure quickly disappeared from the alley without a trace.
Since the copying process of the record stone would not leave any traces, Antoine would only think that it was an ordinary thief who wanted to try his luck in the alchemy workshop. Sanderson admired Piram's wisdom as he gasped with lingering fear. Touching the record stone in his pocket, it took a while for him to calm down, but he felt a damp heat in his lower body.
The experience just now made him incontinent.
......
The next day, in Antoine alchemy workshop, Antoine was talking with Officer Leslie who came to investigate and collect evidence.
"Are you sure nothing is missing?"
Leslie looked at the door that had been blasted open by a fireball, thinking that the mage himself might have done more damage to this room than the little thief.
Fortunately, Leslie investigated the neighbors around him. Last night someone saw that there was indeed an unidentified guy sneaking out of Antoine's alchemy workshop. This was a way to conclude that the theft was real and it was not the delusion of this mage.
"Nothing is lost, I think the thief must be here for my alchemy magic circle."
Antoine pointed to the alchemy magic circle that was running.
"Well, this is going to be difficult, Sheila, what do you think?"
Leslie asked his colleague. Sheila was a one-ring mage. Due to the recent increase in magic crimes, her magic crime department has gradually become busy.
"If it is a crime of using a record stone, then basically no evidence will be left, and if the other party does not openly use the alchemy magic circle on certain occasions, we will not be able to find anything."
Sheila shook her head, her wheat-colored skin was very healthy, she didn't look like a mage focused on research in a laboratory.
"How about Divination magic?"
Leslie asked. There had been examples of successful use of astrological divination magic to find clues in the past, so he was curious.
"It won't work, there are too many magical elements involved in the incident, and divination magic will be greatly disturbed. Unless a high-level mage can be invited to investigate this case, such as the excellencies from the 'Stargazer'."
Sheila sighed, there was nothing she could do.
Unlike what ordinary people thought divination magic could do, although divination magic could perform a relatively accurate prediction for events that were not involved in magic, if there were magic elements, such as the current event, the result would have huge deviations. It may even be completely contrary to the facts.
"Mr. Antoine, do you have any clues, such as competitors?"
According to experience, Leslie picked up a bottle of Cola that had already been made. This drink hasn't become popular in Sorento town where the old street was located, so he still didn't know anything about Piram Cola.
"Piram Alchemy Workshop recently produced a batch of Cola, similar to mine, but with a different taste."
Antoine replied. He did not directly accuse Piram in accordance with Reiner's instructions, but only hinted at Leslie.
"Piram Alchemy Workshop? The possibility of commercial competition is very high."
Sheila seemed to feel a bit troubled. That alchemy workshop itself had many unscrupulous behaviors, but because of the lack of direct evidence, the Officers in several cities couldn't convict them, and as a mage, Sheila also very despised Piram's actions.
"We will go back and investigate it, but Mr. Antoine, I still have to tell you that unless you can find direct evidence that your alchemy magic circle was indeed stolen by the Piram Alchemy Workshop, we cannot convict them."
"I understand."
Antoine nodded, and did not tell the two Officers in front of him about his signature set in the alchemy magic circle
