Global Awakening: Monster Taming Necromancer

Chapter 89: Plan II

Chapter 89: Plan II

"Then we will burn the whole tree down," Temur added with a dangerous twist to his voice.

Thayer's face twitched. "Aem, I won't be helping you in taking down any trees but I'll give my support regarding Litha. I'll say this, though, you better leave an organization like the Chaos Cult alone. There's a reason even the Tower Guards haven't root them out."

Jael said nothing to that. Thayer has his plans and opinions, and so does he. Instead, he asked. "How can we find Kaidos? He'll bring out his master if we get our hands on him."

Cole spoke then. "We have his identity but that only includes his name and a fake residence here. We have traced how he got registered for this zone and it was done for him by an anonymous person."

'Probably his master' Jael thought. 'That bastard must have been planning this for a long time. It must be me they plan to kidnapped but Litha got caught in'

Thayer cleared his throat. "Yes. We have tried to track him down, but of course, that's impossible for now. Temur told me what's happened in the zone and I can say we'll at least be able to know who the master is."

Jael straightened at that. The master, that Necromancer. If they found him, then they'd locate Litha, that's for sure. "How can we do that? I'm guessing the bastard isn't even Iron rank."

"What will expose him is his unique power. A necromancer that uses blood? That's an interesting ability, there must not be a lot of them in the Tower." Temur grunted.

Jael nodded; a power like that would have attracted attention, and then something struck his mind. "The master...before the portal disappeared he looked like he's trying to set up a place for us to meet. Me in exchange for Litha."

His voice lifted at the end, and his eyes shone. He turned to Temur, expecting him to share his sentiment, but the big guy was frowning heavily at him. "Exchange you with her? Are you out of your mind Jael? That's only led us to the same place because now Litha and I will have to rescue you!"

He was breathing hard at the end, and Jael shrunk; he hadn't thought of that, and even though Temur was growling at him, he couldn't help but smile. Only his dead family cared about him, it was nice to see someone think of him like that.

And that's why he must save her.

The silence that followed was broken by Tim who stammered, Jael and Temur turned to him at the same time. "Ahem....Jael, sorry for all this, and I hope I can help you out, but you know....."

"Yes, I understand. You are in a Guild and can't make that type of decision on your own. Besides, I'm guessing a new Guild, like the Gold, won't want to mess with the Chaos Cult. I understand, Tim." Jael finished with a sigh.

This just reinforced his decision that Guilds are no-go areas.

Cele closed her eyes too and shook her eyes; she seemed to be fighting internally with herself as she sat quietly. Then she let out a loud sigh. "Alright. I can help you out in a way. Captain Ryker, who's in charge of this floor as a Tower Guard, is...some kind of far relative to me...."

"Cele," Thayer interrupted. "I've already talked with him and he's just giving me closed answers. It seems the chaos Cult have deeper roots than we thought."

Cele stood and faced Thayer with a grimace. "I know, but I'll talk to him, and I'm sure he'll be able to come up with something."

Thayer narrowed his eyes as he watched her retreat. If she's able to talk to him then that'll be a big help. The truth is that the Chaos Cult is one of the big criminal organizations on the lower floors of the Tower, and they have powerful people support.

That can only explain the reason no arrests or special announcements were made about what happened on the previous floor. Thayer closed his eyes briefly, he didn't know things would turn out like this. He wanted to get involved directly, but with his calculation, it's an odd that won't favor him.

"I'll provide indirect support when I can. Before tonight, I'll send the money, and if you want, my Guild will buy the monsters core from you. I believe you'll need all the money you can with this endeavor."

Then, he and his team excused themselves.

Jael faked a bright smile. "This is going to be troublesome."

When Litha woke up, she knew something was wrong instantly; she pretended to still be asleep without messing her breathing up. Then she listened to her environment while memories of what happened slowly returned.

She didn't know what happened before she passed out; all she remembered was that some kind of tree roots struck her when she was trying to drag her way to Temur and Jael.

She winced internally as she remembered that she had been stabbed, but right now, she was not feeling any pain. All she was feeling was a sense of danger.

"Mas...wha.....have....and...answer....."

The voice was blurred as if it was coming from a very long place or a thick shield. That led her to believe she wasn't anywhere familiar and the others weren't close.

If they were, she reasoned, then she wouldn't be feeling a sense of danger in the first place.

When she couldn't hear anything else from the incoherent voices except that it was two people speaking, she slowly opened her eyes while her breath was still even.

She sucked in a sudden breath, though, even with all the preparation. She was in a well-lit room, but she still wasn't physically in the room because hovering in the middle of the room was a glass orb, and it was inside there that she was staying.

She couldn't help herself. "What in the hellish Tower is going on?"
