Chapter 276: High-Tier
Chapter 276: High-Tier
Everyone quickly moved as they tried to follow the weird-looking Zombie…
However, they noticed that the path it used to escape was so narrow that it could only fit a single person. If there were traps or if the Zombie decided to attack instead, they would be in danger.
They hesitated for a moment as they were unsure what to expect after following the Zombie in the hole. They don't even know how extensive this small path was or where it would lead them.
It was too dangerous to chase the Zombie.
"Wait… Let's hurry and leave this place!" Jaxon immediately shouted. With his Foresight Talent, no one doubted his words as they immediately acted!
As they did so, the walls of the laboratory trembled, and rocks started dislodging. Raze and the others were barely able to grab something in the laboratory room before they dashed to the exit!
Boom!
Just in the nick of time, the cavern or laboratory collapsed behind them, dust and debris filling the air. Thankfully, this collapse only occurred in the base of the Unknown Zombie. The previous cavern or the salt mine was still in good condition…
"This cavern is stable… We're safe here." Jaxon commented as he looked at his group. Everyone was truly surprised by that collapse.
Luckily, no one was hurt as they all emerged with only some specks of dust on their clothes.
Then, looking behind them, they saw the entrance to the hidden path sealed shut, as if it had never existed.
Jaxon leaned against the wall, catching his breath. "What was that Zombie? It looked… half-infected…"
Half-Infected…
Everyone repeated in their minds, and they couldn't help but agree with Jaxon's words. The Zombie they met seemed not Zombie at all. It was too intelligent. At most, it looked like a human with skin disease.
After all, it was wearing a neat laboratory coat and even surgical gloves… Its glasses were also quite convincing and probably being used by the Zombie.
Raze shook her head as it was the first time she saw something like that.
She couldn't help but recall about the Zombie with the Golden Hatchet.
'Is that another disguised Survivor? No… That's too unlikely since the mine had just opened and it matches with the Unknown Zombie written in the mission.'
With a sigh, she looked at everyone and spoke up.
"I don't know what that is. But it knew something we didn't."
Lyra scanned the cavern. "And why did it flee?"
Kael's eyes narrowed as he thought of an answer.
"Because it's intelligent enough to know it will not win against us."
As he said this, Raze noticed something. She was actually worried that they would fail the mission for not being able to kill that Unknown Zombie.
However, as she checked the Mission Tab in their Clan Information, an update occurred!
"Wait… Check your Clan Missions now." Raze said.
[ Mission 1 ( Crypt Crawler Extermination ) has been completed. ]
[ Your clan has eliminated all the Crypt Crawler Zombies! ] Discover hidden content at m,v l'e-NovelBin.net
[ Your clan received the following rewards: Zombie Cores x30, Wooden Treasure Chest x2, Rare Crafting Materials Crate x1, Clan Experience Points +100, Clan Skill Proficiency +10 ]
[ All the items have been added to the Clan Inventory. ]
"R-right… The mission was only to eliminate all the Crypt Crawlers! That Unknown Zombie was not included in the extermination mission, so it's not really necessary to kill it... It was enough to find the Unknown Zombie. We don't have to chase after it!" Kael exclaimed as he saw the notification.
"Indeed… So it was actually like that." Tessa added, feeling relieved that the mission was completed. It means that within 24 hours, there would be a new Clan Mission that they could clear.
"I think we should get some people to mine the salts here… I hope Eliot and Leo could do something about this place." Raze said as she knew that this salt mine was basically more precious than a gold mine at this moment.
They just needed Leo and Eliot's team to work together with the construction or mining rail and the mine carts…
"Right… This is definitely too much for a shelter. We can start selling salt soon." Kael said, as he actually needed plenty of Zombie Cores right now. It was related to his Healing Hand Talent that could still be awakened or improved.
However, he needed some expensive potions to do that, so he had to save a lot of Zombie Cores.
And so, the members of the Eclipse Revenant left the Salt Mine… They were now planning to complete the second mission and eliminate the Siren Zombies.

Meanwhile, within the Underground Tunnel, Shane finally had the time to check the messages he had…
He scrolled through the messages, his eyes catching on Raze's name.
The Dragon Knight was efficient—no wasted words.
[ Raze: Shane, we encountered a strange zombie. It's wearing a lab coat, surgical gloves, and glasses. It's weird, as it acts like a human. Half-Infected, maybe? Thoughts? Also, Chris and Eve in the Regional Chat are searching for a Zombie wielding a Golden Hatchet… ]
Shane gently nodded after reading this message… Raze also explained how the laboratory collapsed and they barely obtained various materials in the laboratory that were only Zombie parts which they had no idea where to use at the moment.
"Mhmm? Half-Infected? That's a new concept…"
The well-dressed Zombie was indeed an anomaly. The virus had mutated countless times and Cloud knew this very well, but this—this was different.
A scientist? A researcher?
"Half-Infected, huh…" Shane muttered as she replied to Raze, telling her to give the Zombie Parts to Anna and that she would research it.
Anyway, he truly liked the concept of the Half-Infected. If they truly existed, then they were neither fully human nor fully undead.
'How are they fighting the Zombie Virus? Did they have some sort of immunity? This is definitely interesting… It might even help me end this Zombie Apocalypse… It's a pity that the laboratory was destroyed.' Shane thought as he shook his head.
Anyway, Shane had to continue with his exploration right now…
After all, he finally encountered his first High-Tier Zombie in this tunnel, it was the Licker Zombie!
