Chapter 208: Zombie Wave ( 9 )
Anna's gaze shifted from Shane to Lucky, her loyal dog.
The dog had finally returned while something clutched in its mouth.
Her heart raced as she knelt beside him, her fingers brushing against his fur.
What had he found? What had he brought back from the chaos of battle?
And then she saw it—an object glinting in the sunlight…
It was a blue stone!
"Where did you get this?" Anna asked. However, as she held the blue stone, information about it appeared in her vision.

Anyway, as the battle outside was starting to fade, Shane descended from his vantage point and made his way to Anna and Lucky.
There, he saw a mysterious blue stone that shimmered with an otherworldly glow.
Anna, on the other hand, seemed silent since she probably analyzed the stone…
Then, her eyes widened as she confirmed its nature…
"Shane… This is an Evolution Stone. It is a catalyst that could transform creatures or pets into something greater."
Shane's mind raced.
"Evolution Stones? It's the first time I heard that." Shane commented as he took the stone that Anna handed over.
[ Evolution Stone: Legendary Evolution Stone is a Soul Catalyst of unparalleled power, said to hold the key to unlocking the hidden potential within creatures and pets. Radiating a mesmerizing azure glow, the stone exudes an aura of ancient mystique, hinting at the transformative energies it harbors within.
When a target is infused with the essence of this mystical stone, the targeted beings will undergo a transformative evolution, transcending their current state to reach new heights of strength and prowess. ]
[ Hint: This is a single-use item. ]
"Awesome…"
Evolution Stones were game-changers…
They could unlock hidden potential, alter forms, and grant new abilities. His five loyal pets—Embering the Fire Kea Bird, Blaze the Fire Elemental, Frostbite the Frostwyrm, Sylvan the Basic Spriggan, and Sparky the Thunderbird—flashed through his thoughts.
"No… Since Lucky found it, should I give it to him?" Shane hesitated.
Their loyalty deserved reward, but the decision weighed heavily on him.
Anna, however, shook her head. "I don't want Lucky to turn into something else," she said firmly. "You can use the Evolution Stone on others."
Shane looked at her for a moment as he felt a bit conflicted about this, but in the end, he still nodded, grateful for her words.
He pocketed the stone, its cool surface making him a bit more relaxed.
Instead of rewarding Lucky, he turned to Anna. "What do you want in exchange for this stone?"
Anna didn't think she would be asked by that and hesitated, her gaze thoughtful.
"No… I received the Chemist Skill Scroll from you before," she said. "Two new skills—that's enough."
She was referring to the passive skills given by that scroll. It was the Alchemy Mastery and Elixir Brewmaster.
Shane respected her choice, but he decided to give her something later on.
Anyway, he felt that the bond between them had deepened through this exchange.
With a nod, he turned back to the battlefield. The remaining zombies had to be eliminated, and they had to do it until later. Even Anna decided to get closer to the battlefield with her revolver, but Shane didn't stop her. Anyway, there weren't many Zombies around anymore.
But at this moment, as he fought alongside Anna, he knew that sometimes the greatest rewards were not magical artifacts or newfound abilities—it was the trust and camaraderie forged in the crucible of survival.

Meanwhile, not too far from Shane's estate, another camp was being attacked by the Zombies.
The small shelter camp perched atop the trees trembled as the Zombie Wave descended upon them. The makeshift tree houses, once a refuge, now felt like fragile nests in the face of relentless undead hunger.
Lily and Elsa, the leaders, stood at the forefront, their exceptional talents their only hope.
Lily, with her Wood Element Affinity, summoned roots and branches to fend off the climbing zombies. Vines snaked around their limbs, immobilizing them, while wooden spikes impaled others. Her eyes glowed with fury as she channeled her power, the very trees bending to her will.
The others who had various weapons like revolvers, bows and arrows, and spears would also help her.
Elsa, on the other hand, wielded Water Element Affinity. She conjured torrents of water, cascading down upon the zombies attempting to leap onto the platforms. The water swept them away, their decayed bodies tumbling into the ground below.
Elsa's breaths came in ragged gasps, but she held her ground, her blue eyes ablaze with resolve.
The other survivors fought alongside their leaders. Some had Uncommon Talents—minor abilities that still made a difference. A young man named Alex could manipulate shadows, creating pockets of darkness to confuse the zombies.
It was only an Uncommon Talent, so he could only control a small shadow and couldn't even use it against multiple zombies. Furthermore, he didn't have enough Spirit Points to control it for a long time!
Then, a girl named Mia had the power to mend wounds, her hands glowing with healing energy. However, she had to transfer this wound elsewhere… Because of that, the various birds in the cage near her would be the ones to receive the wounds of her companions… This would instantly kill them but it was better than staying injured!
"Don't give up! There are only 40 more Zombies!" Lily shouted…
She didn't expect that they would be swarmed by about a hundred of Zombies at the start of the Zombie Apocalypse! It means that at the end or at the last wave of zombies, they might encounter 500 or more at the same time! That wasn't good!
"Do not worry! We saved up enough Spirit Enhancement Potions! We will be fine!" Elsa added as she observed the battlefield carefully.
Thankfully, their shelter still had others with Rare Talents that coiuld help them out.
Jake, the engineer, rigged traps—makeshift snares and pitfalls that sent zombies plummeting to the forest floor.
His sister, Maya, controlled electricity, zapping the undead with bolts of lightning for 50 Spirit Points. She could only use this weak lightning 5 times, so she had to be very careful about it. Well, she only had 250 Spirit Points after all.
"We're going to be fine—" Lily wanted to encourage everyone but something unexpected happened.
