Chapter 336: Exterminated
Chapter 336: Exterminated
"H-Hwease…Hop…Hitting we…" Conn-Thor begged with a swollen face, his cheeks were so red and puffed that he couldn't speak clearly—a look unfitting for a bandit boss like him.
However, although his current appearance was rather comical, there was a hint of eeriness to it as he looked drastically older than when Shye first met him.
Shye didn't care one bit though, witheringly old or not, the man deserved to be slapped for being a scum who preyed on young girls.
At this point, the sinister old dog just wanted to die as he didn't want to suffer under Shye's hands.
Unfortunately, he couldn't even activate a single skill due to the weird sword skill that sapped all of his mana and stamina.
Thus, Conn-Thor had no choice but to get slapped while tied up like some piece of withered meat.
After a good while of face-slapping, Shye stopped as he noticed that the sinister old dog had already fainted.
"Phew…I guess that's that…" Shye mused, wiping the sweat off his face. "That was easier than I thought it would be…"
For the first time since he obtained the system, Shye failed to estimate the growth brought about by the system upgrades.
Hence, he couldn't help but feel giddy as he imagined how bright his future would be, believing that he probably wouldn't lose in terms of growth against the geniuses from other, more prominent regions.
"Well, for now, let's clean up here…"
Going back to where the majority of the bandits were after tying up Arven and Conn-Thor, Shye gave the unconscious Arsel one last solid slap, partially waking him up before tying him nice and tight.
"H-HIIIH!! LET ME GO! Y-YOU EVIL SCOUNDREL!!"
"Huh? It seems that you're not fully awake yet, shall I give you another slap?"
"..."
"Good…You better stay silent or I'll slap the sh*t out of you again."
To Arsel's horror, Shye suddenly started killing all of the unconscious bandit lackeys with nary a hint of remorse.
In fact, there was a slight smile of satisfaction on his face as he "cleaned" the lair up.
After a while, only four people were alive inside the lair: Shye, Arven, Arsel, and the withering Conn-Thor.
The three bandits were tied up with Shye fully in control.
To ensure that they wouldn't try anything funny, Shye forcefully fed them restraining pills which would reduce their attributes by 80% for a day.
These restraining pills were something he prepared ahead of time to make it easier for Seira and himself to transport the captured leaders back to Balkrow City.
Only, it seems that Conn-Thor didn't even need it as he was already as weak as a newborn kitten.
Dragging the three of them with a cold smile, Shye traveled towards the rendezvous point.
Then, upon reaching the right entrance, he suddenly remembered something and again, dragged the scummy bastards back to Conn-Thor's room.
Shye then looked around, his eyes widening upon spotting something in front of the weird apparatus.
…
In the heart of the village, numerous middle-aged residents dashed towards a particular spot upon learning of the delightful and unexpected news they had longed for but doubted they would ever receive.
They were in the middle of doing their daily chores, utterly depressed about the unknown situation of their missing children, however, what could they do except wait for adventurers to take on and complete the quest posted up by the four surrounding villages in hopes of saving the young girls on time?
Some of them even considered their children already dead as not a single missing child, except for the one saved by the young female adventurer, made it back alive.
Thus, the sudden heavenly news brought hope and smiles back to their hearts and faces.

"ARA!! I thought I'd never see you again!!"
"Jenny! Come! Give Mommy a hug! I thought I'd lost you forever!"
"Weili! I profusely thank the heavens!! It's good that you're back…It's good that you're back…"
Watching the touching parent and child reunions, a warm smile crept its way into Seira's face, prompting her to recall memories of her family.
Unfortunately, things weren't all rainbows and butterflies as some residents, upon realizing that their children weren't among the rescued ones, suddenly knelt on the ground with despair and sorrow, wailing their hearts out as the final embers of hope were ruthlessly snuffed out.
Why?! Why weren't their children among the ones who were saved?!
Naturally, Seira, a compassionate individual, couldn't help but shed a few tears on their behalf as a slight pang of guilt assaulted her heart.
However, she also wasn't as naive as she was before, hence, she understood that they couldn't save everyone.
After all, they were mere rookies and the bandits have already been doing their scummy deeds for quite a while now.
It was inevitable that the majority of the young girls who had been abducted earlier than the others had already perished.
Still, since she was able to save a lot of girls from this specific village, her aching heart felt a little better after receiving the deepest of gratitudes from the parents whose children were among those who were saved.
"M-Miss Adventurer! This isn't much as our village is very poor, however, please take this as a token of our appreciation! " The village chief said, handing over a small bag of silver coins to Seira.
Taking one quick glance inside the bag, Seira estimated that there were at least 3,000 silver coins inside, and for a small and poor village like this one, such an amount was definitely huge.
"Village Chief, I appreciate the gesture, however, please use this to improve the living conditions of everyone in the village instead," Seira replied, returning the bag of silver coins to the village chief. "Well, then I entrust the village chief to return the other children to their respective villages. I shall take my leave as my comrade still needs my help. Farewell."
Heroically walking out of the village, Seira deactivated the recording crystal that would serve as proof that they'd rescued more than twenty young girls.
She then headed straight towards their rendezvous point and waited for her boss to arrive.
