Chapter 326: Sinister Plan Working Wonders
Chapter 326: Sinister Plan Working Wonders
"F*ck! We've been looking for that darned lair for days!" Shye couldn't help but curse as he kicked a pebble with full force, sending it flying toward a rock and shattering it.
"B-Boss! Calm down! We'll be able to find the lair soon! H-How about we try waiting for them to abduct a twelve-year-old girl from some village?!"
She wasn't used to seeing this side of Shye, hence, in a panic, she blurted out one of the most evil plans her slightly naive mind would've thought of.
Hearing Seira's suggestion, Shye subconsciously looked at her with an expression of disbelief, causing her to have a sudden realization of how evil her plan was.
What she didn't expect was Shye's reaction to her sinister plan.
"That! Yes…Maybe we can do that…"
This time, it was Seira who looked at Shye with disbelief written all over her face.
'T-This guy even dares to use a little girl as bait?'
Well, she couldn't really reprimand him now, could she? After all, the plan came straight out of her mouth and she was even receiving praise from her boss for it!
…
As the exhausted sun's golden rays started to fade, darkness threatened to consume the world, causing the blue heavenly canvas to turn a chaotic combination of orange, azure, and pink hues.
Beneath, two young adventurers were in the middle of executing the most devious plan they've ever thought of in their lives: waiting for someone to abduct the ten-year-old girl picking berries in the bushes right in front of them.
Shye already used an entire adventurer party as bait before so he was faring a bit better compared to Seira who couldn't believe that such a sinister plan came straight out of her mouth.
Unfortunately, they've already been trying to locate the lair for two whole weeks but to no avail.
They had no more time to waste as the mission had a deadline of 30 days, hence, the two of them had no choice but to bank on Seira's genius yet distressing plan.
After another half-hour of fruitless waiting, the sun finally set, prompting the ten-year-old girl to return to the village and head straight home, knowing that most of the reported abductions occur at night.
Sadly, the kid's decision to return was a wee bit too late as a young man with short black hair, slender yet toned physique, and was around the same age as Shye was already looking at her from atop a tree branch with a creepy smile.
"Ahahh…what a beautiful kid…The boss will probably give me a few extra silver coins tonight if I manage to capture this little angel." the young man muttered, springing into action the next moment.
Jumping down from the tree branch, the young man landed on grass, causing it to rustle and attract the young girl's reaction.
Noticing the eerie smile on the young man's face, the little girl immediately realized that this guy was probably one of those people who abducted young girls like her.
"Help!! Help me!! Someone!! Help!!" With a racing heart, the young girl screamed, running as fast as she could towards the village.
Sadly, there was no way for her to outrun an ex-adventurer turned bandit.
After just two seconds, the young bandit grabbed the little girl by her waist and knocked her out by giving her one moderate chop to the neck.
Witnessing the abduction happening right in front of her, Seira was about to throw the entire plan out the window and charge towards the young bandit, however, a strong hand grabbed her wrists and swiftly pulled her back.
"Shh! Stay strong. Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to the little girl. For now, trust me, and let's follow this guy back to the lair." Shye whispered while breathing heavily.
He almost jumped out.
Fortunately, his rationality won, allowing his brain, instead of his emotions, to take control of his actions.
Allowing the young bandit to create the optimal distance, the young adventurers followed with stifled rage, their hearts racing wildly as they gave everything they had to focus on the task at hand.
After all, one mistake could mean the young girl's life.
Tracking the bandit while maintaining optimal distance was very difficult, and a lot of times, Seira was left behind.
However, Shye left decent tracks for her to follow, hence, she was able to catch up from time to time, only to be left behind again. Stay connected via m-v l|e'-NovelBin.net
She didn't hold it against her boss though, fully knowing that the young girl's safety was of utmost importance.
The young bandit looked around from time to time, ensuring that no one was following him before silently rushing towards the next area.
They traversed dense shrubbery, small forests, and a tiny swamp before eventually reaching an area beneath a mountain, where Shye discovered what appeared to be a beast den nestled between two large rocks.
A few seconds later, Seira arrived next to Shye, slightly panting and sweating, yet her gaze remained fixed on the bandit, poised to act at a moment's notice.
Looking around to ensure that he wasn't followed, the bandit momentarily dropped the unconscious young girl on the ground, pushing the large rock on the left shortly after.
Once done, the young bandit turned his head to pick up the young girl, however, she…was gone.
"Oh no! I've been foll–"
*CHOP!*
"Yes, you've been followed, idiot," Shye whispered as he caught the young bandit's limping body after chopping the bandit's neck with his right hand.
'Phew…phase one successful…'
Shye was about to order Seira to tie the bastard up.
However, before he could even speak, his underling was already on it, tying the young bandit up—extra f*cking tight, with fury written all over her face.
"Scum." She whispered in a satisfied manner after successfully capturing the bandit for interrogation.
Shye motioned for Seira to hold onto the little girl while he took charge of carrying the unconscious bandit.
"Let's go, return the little girl to the village first and meet me at the area we agreed on to interrogate this bastard."
"Roger, Boss!"
