Flashy Adventurer System : Show Off to Get Stronger!

Chapter 298: Seira’s Resolve

Chapter 298: Seira’s Resolve

Hearing the young woman's triumphant roar, the Goblin bosses gnashed their teeth in anger as a slight pang of loneliness assaulted their hearts.

All the goblins—both their subordinates and children, have perished.

Now, only the two of them remained.

If the bosses wished to persist in living outside the adventurer zones, they would need to exert themselves and begin anew, engaging in the task of kidnapping and reproducing on their own.

Well, first, they must slay the male human and capture the female one.

"GHRAAAARRK!!"

After another high-pitched roar of anger, the Goblin Chieftain ignored Shye, opting to attack Seira instead to make sure that no one would be able to help the unfathomably strong human male.

Madly dashing towards Seira with sinister intentions, the chieftain raised its greatsword, ferociously swinging it downwards.

"SEIRA!"

Hearing Shye's worried voice, Seira swiftly turned around, realizing shortly after that she was under attack.

Unfortunately, her skill, [Mana Shift Lv.1] was still on cooldown.

If only she realized its importance earlier, she would've worked damn hard to level the skill up.

Left with no choice, Seira roared back, raising her greatswords horizontally as she braced herself for a strong impact.

*CLANG!*

The chieftain's greatsword clashed against Seira's, producing a grating metallic sound that assaulted one's ears, followed by the sound of someone vomiting blood.

"Puhaahk!"

Scarlet blood forcefully spurted out of Seira's mouth as she struggled to receive the blow—the bones in her body—screaming in pain.

Still, she managed to hold on through sheer grit and willpower, panting hard in exhaustion as she struggled to breathe after just a single attack from the chieftain.

'Boss is really amazing…He's been fighting this dastardly thing this whole time?' Seira thought.

However, even though she was admiring Shye, her eyes never once left the Goblin Chieftain—shining with a courageous glint.

Subsequently, as she struggled to hold the darned chieftain back, Seira glanced at Shye and exclaimed in a loud voice:

"B-Boss! Don't worry about me! Finish that old green goat off then help me! I think I can hold this brute off!"

Hearing Seira's words, Shye was utterly surprised.

The girl who consistently took cover behind him whenever they faced formidable creatures was now volunteering to confront one he never anticipated she could handle.

He wanted to reject her suggestion, however, upon seeing the bravery and…confidence burning in her eyes, he just couldn't find the heart to do so.

Gritting his teeth as he dodged another diving bite attack from the Goblin High Shaman's Spirit Serpent, Shye decided to trust her.

If Seira herself was determined to grow stronger and face difficult challenges even at the risk of her own life, who was he to limit her?

"G-Got it! You must survive until I defeat this old goat you understand?!"

"Of course! Don't worry, boss! This green brute wouldn't be enough to take down someone like me!"

Seira assured, jumping back with great difficulty promptly after.

Shye then observed Seira for a few more seconds, barely avoiding the Spirit Serpent's attacks as he did so.

Her focus was unmatched, allowing her to barely dodge and parry the Goblin Chieftain's attacks.

She knew that it would be unwise to block the brutish creature's attacks as it was too strong for her to receive head-on.

What's commendable is her bravery in deflecting the attacks and attempting new techniques she had never tried before, like sliding under the greatsword to evade it.

If it was the previous Seira, she would be too scared to even try such an insane thing.

But now, she wasn't only attempting it, but also pulling it off with unexpected grace.

Witnessing how decisive and skillful Seira was with her maneuvers, Shye breathed a sigh of relief and was finally able to focus on the opponent in front of him—three healthy Spirit Wolves, one enormous Spirit Serpent, and a dastardly green old goat who kept firing blue projectiles and terrifying lightning from time to time.

'Now then, how can I take this old goat down?'

Gripping his greatswords tighter, Shye stood his ground with a fierce expression, waiting for the spirit wolves, who were charging at him, to pounce.

He then flapped his wings one last time before they expired to dodge the Spirit Serpent's tail swipe attack, simultaneously charging towards the wolves with unexpected speed.

The wolves pounced from different angles, hence, it was impossible for Shye to take them all down in one hit.

Activating his skill, [Stoic Lv.4], he decisively allowed two wolves to bite him, slaughtering the unlucky one in the middle with a single, violent swing of his greatswords.

As the slain spirit wolf dissolved into blue orbs and scattered to the four winds, Shye kicked the one biting his right arm, and stabbed the other in the neck, once again killing it and reducing his opponents from five to three.

"Ahhk!"

Unfortunately, even for him, five opponents were a handful and it was inevitable for the projectiles to finally hit him.

Hit squarely by three mana blasts and a lightning bolt from the activated lightning field that was following him around, Shye violently spat out blood.

If not for his trusty stoic skill, he for sure would have perished right then and there.

To top everything off, his boosts from the fallen skill set had now timed out and he had to wait for five whole minutes before he could reactivate both.

Luckily, his brain now worked fast.

Remembering the fact that there were only a total of four enemies from a whopping 153, Shye swiftly retreated, swapping his entire warrior equipment set for the mage one.

That's right, there was no need for him to make things difficult for himself!

Holding two elemental staffs, Shye targeted both at the remaining spirit wolf, swiftly taking it out with a barrage of basic spells.

Various elements roared as they violently vanquished the summoned creature, causing it to dissolve into blue particles shortly after.

Now, all the nuisances are gone.

It was only him, the darned serpent, and the ugly, green old goat.
