Doomsday: I Become Invincible By Picking Up

Chapter 91

Chapter 91

C91 – I Bet a Hundred Thousand

Dugu Lengyue shifted her attention to the young man standing beside Murong Yuntian.

This man bore a striking resemblance to Murong Yuntian, with around 70% similarity in their appearances.

“That’s Murong Yuntian’s brother, Murong Yunhai. His position in the Green Cloud Temple is quite prominent. He’s this year’s second most exceptional talent, second only to the top talent, Chen Jingtian.”

Indeed, that man was Murong Yuntian’s elder sibling.

“They truly are brothers. Whether it’s the Green Cloud Temple or the Dragon God Temple, they both hold the second position.”

Loong Chen couldn’t help but chuckle.

Dugu Lengyue was taken aback by Loong Chen’s comment and broke into laughter herself.

“Who are those individuals?”

Loong Chen gestured towards another group of seven people who stood apart, conspicuously lacking a campfire.

These seven individuals concealed themselves in the shadows, and had it not been for Loong Chen’s keen eyesight, they might have gone unnoticed.

All seven were dressed in brown windbreakers, and while their faces appeared somewhat pallid, they possessed a certain charm.

They exuded an air of nonchalant confidence.

Dugu Lengyue also directed her gaze in their direction, her brows furrowing slightly as she shook her head.

“I’m not familiar with those individuals, nor do I know which faction they represent. Apart from major sects sending disciples to the border, some independent cultivators or smaller factions seek resources here. They could belong to the latter category.”

Loong Chen couldn’t help but observe them more closely. Regardless, he needed to remain vigilant regarding their presence.

Just as Loong Chen focused on these seven enigmatic figures, the young man from the Green Cloud Temple group who had been sitting beside Murong Yuntian began approaching Loong Chen.

“You’re Loong Chen, right?”

With a blade of grass dangling from his mouth, Murong Yunhai called out to Loong Chen, a hint of disdain in his tone.

Loong Chen turned his head slowly to face him.

Loong Chen responded calmly, “Is there something you need?”

“I’ve heard that you not only seized my brother’s second place in the Sky Ranking but also publicly disgraced him. As Yun Tian’s brother, I feel compelled to seek justice on his behalf,” Murong Yunhai declared.

He punctuated his words by spitting out a blade of grass he had been chewing on.

The grass transformed into a sharp projectile, aimed at Loong Chen. With minimal effort, Loong Chen deftly dodged it by tilting his head.

Loong Chen urged, “Cut to the chase. There’s no need for these petty tricks.”

He rose to his feet, his expression composed.

It was as if the person standing before him held no significance.

Murong Yunhai maintained his composure and declared, “You’re straightforward. Since you’ve taken my younger brother’s spot and shamed him, I won’t resort to bullying. If you kneel down and apologize to Yun Tian and then withdraw from the Dragon God Temple, I’ll let this matter go.”

Murong Yunhai lifted his chin arrogantly as he spoke.

Loong Chen responded with a derisive snort.

“What’s so amusing?” Murong Yunhai shouted in anger. Did he not grasp the gravity of his situation?

“I’m amused by your stupidity, much like your brother,” Loong Chen retorted, not mincing his words.

Murong Yunhai’s face instantly darkened.

“Brother, don’t waste time on him. Since he’s oblivious to reality, just cripple him!” Murong Yuntian called out from behind.

With a somber expression, Murong Yunhai advanced toward Loong Chen.

“Since you’re asking for death, I’ll oblige,” he muttered.

Everyone present, including those from the Green Cloud Temple, observed the impending conflict as if watching a spectacle, showing no inclination to intervene.

However, at that very moment, a radiant figure emerged before Loong Chen.

“Both Loong Chen and Murong Yuntian hail from the Dragon God Temple, so I won’t concern myself with them. But as a member of the Green Cloud Temple, you’ve provoked the Dragon God Temple, which means you’ll have to face me first.”

Dugu Lengyue’s voice turned icy, causing Murong Yunhai to come to a halt.

A flicker of fear crossed Murong Yunhai’s eyes as he looked at Dugu Lengyue.

Dugu Lengyue had reached the pinnacle of the Sky Rankings in the Dragon God Temple, indicating her strength was extraordinary.

Murong Yunhai, at least, didn’t have the confidence to defeat her.

“If you’re truly a man, don’t hide behind a woman. If you insist on hiding behind her, then you’re a coward!”

Consequently, Murong Yunhai provoked Loong Chen.

“If I’m considered trash, then isn’t your brother trash too?”

Loong Chen chuckled, eliciting a wave of laughter.

“I never expected Loong Chen to not only be powerful but also so humorous.”

Lau Fei’s laughter rang out melodiously, causing the hearts of many onlookers to skip a beat.

Lau Fei’s comment darkened Murong Yuntian’s expression even more than his brother’s.

“Loong Chen, if you’re brave enough, accept my brother’s challenge. Don’t hide behind a woman!”

Murong Yuntian shouted.

“Not just anyone has the privilege to challenge me, unless we make a wager.”

Loong Chen grinned.

“What kind of wager?”

Murong Yunhai asked eagerly. As long as Loong Chen didn’t use Dugu Lengyue as a shield, he had no fear.

“I’ve heard that credit points can be transferred.”

Loong Chen’s smile took on a mischievous edge as he turned to Dugu Lengyue for confirmation.

Dugu Lengyue found herself in a state of shock, and her nod was instinctual.

“Then how about we make it a wager of a hundred thousand credit points? Do you have the guts?”

A collective gasp filled the room. One hundred thousand credit points!

They had just arrived at the border and had only been through one battle, so they didn’t have a substantial amount of credit points.

A hundred thousand credit points were undoubtedly a considerable sum.

“Quit the nonsense! Do you even possess a hundred thousand credit points? Are you making this up to escape?” Murong Yunhai jeered.

“If I dare to propose this figure, I naturally have a hundred thousand credit points. Are you accepting the bet or not? If you’re not up for it, then get lost,” was the firm reply.

Murong Yunhai hesitated.

He didn’t have that much in credit points.

“Fine, I’ll take the bet!” Murong Yunhai finally clenched his teeth and agreed, brimming with confidence in his own abilities.

“Do you actually have that many credit points?” Loong Chen inquired skeptically.

Murong Yunhai gave a cold snort. After a brief exchange with the Green Cloud Temple’s representatives, they handed over their Battle Credit Bracelets to Murong Yunhai.

“Each of these five Battle Credit Bracelets holds twenty thousand credit points. Does that suffice?” he asked Loong Chen.

Loong Chen glanced at them and confirmed that the total did indeed amount to a hundred thousand credit points. He nodded.

“Are you sure you want to accept Murong Yunhai’s challenge? He’s a Level 5 Mid Rank Evolver and possesses the Ice extraordinary talent.”

Dugu Lengyue expressed her concern with a slight frown.

“Don’t worry. I won’t jest with the hard-earned 100,000 credit points,” Loong Chen reassured her with a slight smile.

Afterward, he approached Murong Yunhai.

“Since you’ve generously offered me 100,000 credit points, I’ll do my best to be accommodating,” Murong Yunhai sneered.

Loong Chen, on the other hand, remained composed. He stepped about two meters away from Murong Yunhai and halted.

Then, he slowly extended three fingers.
