Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4137 Vying For The Realm Core

Chapter 4137 Vying For The Realm Core

Chapter 4137  Vying For The Realm Core

The three Realm Masters couldn't believe it.

They hated Realm Master Thousand Windblades, but they were aware he was even more powerful than them by a minor margin. However, the terrifying thing about him was his ability to escape. No one could catch them. As long as no one could catch a powerful cultivator, no sane person would dare to offend him in the first place.

Unless they were tired of living or were pushed to a corner, they would even glance at his side for fear of repercussions and having sleepless nights.

Nonetheless, if the realm was really masterless…

"…!"

Their expressions once again changed, and then they realized it, making their expressions twist.

Fuck! Why didn't they bring any Immortal Emperors or Sovereigns!? They were inwardly cursing themselves.

Otherwise, they could've tried to bind the Realm Core and successfully become a Realm Master of another realm, managing to claim another realm for themselves! After all, things were quite confusing right now.

There were no intrusions from the Upper Realms! Even if they were forced to step down later, compensation would be provided. This compensation was enough to commit betrayal for most cultivators who wanted to come up in life.

Greed filled their souls. They wanted it. However, no one moved, so this Realm Core was damaged. It was unknown what kind of repercussions would hit them if they were to fail in binding it.

After all, if someone actually tried to force-bind the Realm Core while it still had its master, then it would hit them with a huge shockwave enough to kill them. It was a reactive action and was considered to be a backlash if one were to fail. There were cases when one successfully managed to steal the binding of a Realm Core, but those were extremely rare cases.

They hadn't heard something like that in the current day and age.

Still, it wasn't like they didn't want to try binding it. The Realm Core was masterless! There wouldn't be another chance for who knows how many millions of years!? Even if the chances to bind it right now were fifty-fifty, it was enough for them. However, it just so happened that they simply couldn't bind it because they were all Empyreans or Autarchs!

Their stomachs churned with regret.

"…!"

At this moment, more people arrived at the scene.

"…!"

At this moment, more people arrived at the scene.

They were none other than the people from the Lightning Kirin Lower Realm and the Azure Tree Lower Realm!

Amidst them, there were two powerful entities. Both Realm Masters were here.

The Lightning Kirin Realm Master exuded an aura of stormy dominance. As he stepped out of the flying ship, he appeared like a walking tempest, his aura endlessly swaying in the skies.

He was clad in a flowing robe of silver adorned with streaks of black lightning kirin patterns. His hair was a brilliant white, shoulder-length, and slightly unkempt, as though perpetually tousled by breezy winds. Some strands even shimmered with a faint bluish glow.

His face was sharp and angular, with high cheekbones and a straight, regal nose. His golden eyes gleamed with the intensity of a thunderstorm, constantly shifting like lightning trapped in a boundless storm cloud. A faint scar ran diagonally across his left eyebrow. His body also occasionally crackled with faint arcs of electricity, making him look quite menacing.

Clearly, he was a fey who held the blood of the Obsidian Lightning Kirin.

He turned to look at the three Realm Masters with a grim expression before he turned to look at the Azure Tree Realm Master.

She wore a robe of verdant green and azure, its flowing fabric etched with delicate patterns of leaves and vines, as though nature itself had stitched her attire. It was unknown if they were just embroidery or a part of her body. Further outside, the edges of her robe shimmered with faint golden threads that glowed like sunlight piercing through a forest canopy.

Her hair cascaded in long, silky waves of deep forest green, streaked with vibrant streaks of azure that glimmered faintly, reminiscent of dew-laden leaves under the moonlit night. Her hair was crowned as though they were intertwined branches, adorned with tiny gemstones that sparkled like the stars.

She looked absolutely stunning.

Her face was veiled, but her expression was serene and timeless, with a gentle yet commanding presence. She had almond-shaped eyes the color of ancient jade, glowing softly with a natural luminescence. Her skin was smooth, with a faint greenish undertone, letting one know that she wasn't human.

She was a tree, the Azure Tree. She was older than any of them here, yet they couldn't help but be mesmerized. Her beauty was said to be akin to the beauty of the Celestial Fairy Rankings. She was considered to be the most gentle yet powerful Realm Master in the Lower Realms.

It was said Realm Master Thousand Windblades had once targeted her, which was the cause of the fracture of their alliance. However, no one knew the truth since he stopped visiting the Azure Tree Lower Realm publicly after that incident.

Nonetheless, it was said that the Azure Tree Realm Master rarely ventured out.

For her to have come here with her entourage, it could be said that was a great event in itself, but the underlying problem was much bigger than her or any of them here.

The three Realm Masters looked at them gravely, not sharing the information, but the two new Realm Masters instantly figured it out.

"Go!"

A huge battle ensued.

The resulting shockwaves caused more destruction to the city. Countless areas were instantly demolished, and the ones trying to plunder below also lost their lives pitifully.

However, the victor seemed to be someone else.

"Stop!"

The Lightning Kirin Realm Master roared at a junior. He seemed to be clad in the Verdant Vale Sect's attire.

"You're all fools! This core belongs to the people of the Verdant Vale Lower Realm first, and I, as the top disciple of the Verdant Vale Sect, will lay claim to it! Hahaha!"

The top disciple of the Verdant Vale Sect appeared under the Realm Core somehow and quickly grabbed the surface where the white light was flickering the most.

"!!!"

Everyone was alarmed. They didn't dare harm the Realm Core again since its surface had already melted. They could be punished with death by the Heaven's Warriors, so that instant of hesitation cost them the once-in-a-lifetime chance.

Golden light soared above the hole and spread across the skies!

The Realm Masters clenched their teeth as they knew that this was indeed the light of binding. Now, only an auspicious phenomenon was left, which would proclaim to the world that a Realm Master was born.

However, even after waiting a few seconds, there was no such phenomenon. Still, they didn't do it, as this process could take a minute or even an hour. It differed with people.

But suddenly, the golden light faded as it appeared, leaving behind a Verdant Vale Sect's top disciple whose foolish smile froze. He took his hands off and repeatedly tried to sense something, but nothing extraordinary could be felt.

Had he become a Realm Master? He wasn't even sure of it when he suddenly saw the white light from the Realm Core flicker again.

"…!"

His eyes turned bloodshot as he felt like the Realm Core had rejected him, a feat that very few people had encountered as it was mostly finders takers! As long as the initial golden light appeared and they maintained their life, the realm core would accept within a few minutes or even an hour!

*Bang!~*

His head exploded as an arrow with pinpoint accuracy killed him, and the battle continued to ensue.

It didn't stop until a powerful Level Five Autarch Heaven's Warrior from one of the neighboring Minor Realm came by and roared at them. The Realm Masters had no choice but to stop. Or else they would be punished.

The Heaven's Warriors didn't say anything after that, but the Realm Masters came to a consensus.

They then allowed the juniors to have a single all-out battle, and the resulting winner tried to bind the realm, but it failed again!

"What's going on!?"

Lightning Kirin Realm Master roared. Could it be this Realm Core was eternally damaged!? Did it need to heal first!? Could it even be healed after looking melted like that for a long time already?

They didn't know, but the fears began to spread at a rate faster than the speed of a Peak Empyrean! If the Realms couldn't be controlled after it was damaged, how was order supposed to be maintained as it would be a prelude to the drastic decrease of resources?

Their initial greed for the resources of the Verdant Vale Lower Realm quickly turned into dread, realizing that whatever force had harmed the core to this degree and made it useless could just as easily turn on them.

They had the urge to return to their realms and fortify their defenses.

Realm Masters Leora Verlight, Lombart Blackstone, and Arata Sunborn were practically dreading that the Divine Emperor of Death would come for them with that little yet devilish apocalyptic spirit.

They hoped that such a being remained a rumor and a myth!
