Chapter 869 Their Bond 2
"Is this your quarters?" Everbee asked. Cuban nodded, "yes it is. its not the best, but I manage."
"Not the best!?" Everbee thought to herself, "hell No! this place was even worse that the quarters reserved for the low borns and cleaners."
And yet, Cuban was supposed to be a son of Asmodeus. Everbee could not help but think of how poorly he was being treated. Cuban was working on the fat worm at the corner, but he left his work and handed over a bowl of nectar blood crystals to Everbee. "You used too much of your strength today. Have some! It is good for the body." Cuban offered it to her. However, unlike the times that had come before now, she did not spank the bowl aside. Instead, she took it in hand. After all, she now knew how he had hunted for the content. Also, she did need her strength. Nectar blood Crystal had been smashed to liquid form, slowly, and a bit in doubt, she took the first spoon of it. The taste was more incredible than she had anticipated it would have been. Instantly, she rushed its content into her mouth. As the name indicated, this was nectar. However, as she enjoyed her meal, she watched Cuban go about his work. Before her eyes, she saw him extract the genes of several creatures, splicing their DNA's together, before feeding them to the Chimera ant. She remembered that Kudus had said that Cuban had talents, but not in battle. She was seeing those talents in place. After all, this family was one that used blood magic. however, from what she could see, Cuban did more than that, he actively transferred known characteristics of one organism to another without destroying the base genome of the original organism. Instead, the genes merged to become a part of the Chimera ant. Once Cuban was done, he commanded the fat worm, "Take the form of a stone lizard!" Instantly, as if understanding his words, it transformed. Its body becoming that of stone, and it developed limbs. Although it was not exactly a stone lizard, preserving some of its qualities, as a worm like its head, it had still transformed. "Now become a spiked eagle!" Cuban commanded again. Once more, the creature transformed with metal spikes all over its body. however, its wings were supposed to be two, one on each side and the wings were only produced on one side. Cuban took note of this and jotted in down on the wall with a sharp rock. "It would seem like I over spliced the genes. transform back. I will need to do some repairs." the Chimera obeyed and transformed back.
Meanwhile, Everbee could no longer hold her surprise and stood to her feet. She had never seen something so incredible before. After all, the only thing in record that could steal the fuctional image of one creature to another like this was none other than the Book of Death.
And yet, Cuban could do such at such a young age. She rushed over and grabbed him by the shoulder, "You... you are...You are genius!" Cuban was taken back by this, but he shook his head, "No! I am not. I am not a skilled fighter like you. And I certainly cannot make the Arcane pillar like the others. I am a not a genius." He looked away from her, bowing his head in shame and disgrace. "But... But I saw you. You have the Blooded form. that is a rare bloodline ability even amongst us royals. with it, you will surely climb high."
Cuban looked at her and shook his head, "that is what my mother thought at first too, but things ended up being this way. Even with my bloodline ability being so good, I was still born below a lesser demon. My fate is sealed at the bottom of the hierarchy. The time it takes to climb the rank of power is too long, and accidents happen. We both know that not every demon can make it to becoming a deep demon rank or even higher. besides, the higher one goes, the more difficult it is to climb the ladder of power." Everbee heard his words and frowned. She knew that what he said was true. However, she could not help but remember the fire she had seen in him earlier today. He did not look like one that had given up on life or had accepted his fate. In fact, with the fact that he never gave up on trying to reach her again and again, it was safe to say that he was not the giving up type. Everbee had thought that her life was terrible because she could not form the arcane pillar, but now, she had met one that might have been destined for a much worse fate than hers. She suddenly entered deep thought, and was looking for a way to help him out of his sadness. However, to her surprise, he suddenly took her hand, "Come, i have something to show you."
This sudden touch surprised her, but she did not stop him, allowing him to do as he wished. He took her hand and led her on.
Cuban pulled her to a side of the room, and then he instructed the Chimera ant, "Form of rock ant." Instantly, it changed into an ant with crystalline body.
The Chimera ant walked up to the mouldy crystal wall and then the moment it touched it, that part of the wall melted out. Cuban pulled Everbee along. Together, they went into the crystal wall that shut behind them. The Chimera ant led the way and they followed behind. Soon, they could hear voices below. Everbee looked down and she could see some soldiers laughing and cheering below. she panicked a bit, but Cuban turned to her, "don't worry, they cannot see us. Rock ant's have the ability to collect vibration from rocks all around them and turn them into images. we are not even close to them so do not worry." On saying this, he pointed to another crystal by the side. This one showed the bullies from earlier on treating the injury that Everbee had inflicted on them. Everbee was amazed by this, and she wanted to see more, and so she took more turns inside this created maze. From the looks of it, vibrations were coming in from different angles, and depending on the side, the images changed. It was at this point that a particular image caught her attention. After all, it was one of high ranking demons like Kudus and some others torturing a particular fallen Angel. The moment she saw his face, she knew that he was the one. This was the first time she saw Uriel the fallen, the one that was the reason for her mother's demise....
