Chapter 472: Detoxification
Fortunately, I was abroad at that time. If I had been in China, people would drown me with their criticism.
Back then, Ye Qian and Jing Ning were confident that Jing Tian and Old Master Jing had died. They were certain that I was at the end of my rope, so they spared no effort to bring me down. This was Ye Qian’s favorite method, so when she acted pity before me in the future, I felt only disgust.
Old Master Jing’s sudden appearance stunned everyone. He cleared up my name effortlessly.
We gathered the forces of Dragon’s Gate, Ardent Flame Alliance, and Qu Hao to save Jing Tian. How many people had died in the process? If I showed these wicked people more kindness, how would I face these members who died for Jing Tian?
As for Old Master Jing, he started to clean up the Jing Family once he returned to M City. I didn’t need to ask to find out how Jing Ning was doing.
…
I exited Jing Tian’s room, fully exhausted. Images of the past were vivid in my mind. Every time, the resentment in my heart would get stronger.
I lifted my head and saw Ma Ji at the end of the corridor. I paused for a moment before walking toward her slowly.
Ma Ji was dressed in black. In the pale morning light, she looked like an enchantress from another world. I stood before her wordlessly.
Ma Ji looked at me. “I think I understand love better now.”
I smiled sadly, “Why would you spend time trying to understand something so bitter?”
Ma Ji sighed, “Tong Yan wants to see you.”
Tong Yan?
I raised my eyebrows. It took me a while to remember who she was. I had handed her over to Ma Ji because Ma Ji could use her. I followed Ma Ji to her room.
I was startled when I saw Tong Yan. There was a dark blue tattoo on her forehead. It made her look very strange. Ma Ji exited the room and closed the door.
I sat opposite Tong Yan.
Tong Yan sneered. “Aren’t you afraid that I’ll poison you?”
I shrugged, “I have Ma Ji. It’s clear that you are not as powerful as her. I’m afraid you can’t do anything when she’s around.”
Tong Yan’s expression was extremely unsightly.
I guessed correctly.
“Ma Ji said that you wanted to see me. I’m here.” I asked directly.
Tong Yan’s chest heaved up and down. She was trying to adjust her mood.
I waited for her.
“Have you really cured Jing Tian?” She asked me.
She felt indignant and muttered, “I didn’t expect that forget-me-not could be cured. Then, why can’t his poison be cured?”
I caught the message in her words. “Who? Who else is poisoned by forget-me-not?”
She didn’t speak.
I stared at her. “Where is he now?”
Tong Yan didn’t speak. I had some clues.
“Even after so many years of researching this poison, you can’t cure him?”
Tong Yan pursed her lips tightly. She was helpless.
I smiled. “Do you know why I succeeded, and you failed?”
Tong Yan didn’t move, nor did she look at me.
“The difference is love,” I told her softly.
Tong Yan finally looked at me.
“The woman who poisoned him loved him deeply. She used her own blood and life to cast the curse on him. There’s no cure.” I said.
Disdain flashed in Tong Yan’s eyes.
I continued, “You also used your own blood to poison Jing Tian, so you want to know how come Jing Tian’s poison can be cured but not his?”
Tong Yan averted her gaze.
I heaved a sigh. “I already told you the answer is love. It is a question of how deep the love is..”
