Chapter 47: Red Dust Desert and Bandits

Chapter 47: Red Dust Desert and Bandits

The Red Dust dessert, a dry barren area of land covered with sand. Looking as far as the eye could see, there was no water, and the little vegetation present was barely able to stay alive in the hot and waterless environment.

Flying over the desolate Red Dust Desert, Qing Yi remember how much trouble she and the rest of her family members had to go through when passing it.

Back then, they had encountered desert bandits several times and if not for the first elder's protection, they most likely would not have made it.

Qing Yi even remembered one time when a desert scorpion at the Core Formation Realm had ambushed them while hiding beneath the sand! The first elder had barely managed to kill it with a surprise attack, but this had spooked out all of the Qing Family's disciples, Qing Yi included.

The danger lurking beneath the sand kept her up many nights in the desert, but now, she looked down and saw the endless ocean of sand passing by beneath her feet. The danger that she had felt from earlier was gone and she could just observe the quiet desolate beauty of the Red Dust Desert.

"Master, why is this desert called the Red Dust desert in the first place?" Looking down on the desert below, Qing Yi curiously asked.

She had wondered since she first travelled through the desert why it was called the Red Dust Desert, as she never saw any rest dust or anything like it.

"The Red Dust Desert? Hm… If I'm not wrong, the desert was created because two powerful domain lords once fought here in the past. This resulted in the creation of the Red Dust Desert, as for the name. The one who fell in the fight was called Daoist Red Dust…" Thinking about it for a while, Xuan Hao Answered Qing Yi's question.

"Wow… Creating a desert from the aftermath of their fight, Domain lords really are strong…" Looking at the giant desert spreading endlessly into the horizon, Qing Yi recalled that her father had once said that the Red Dust Desert covered an area of several hundred kilometres! The domain lords who could devastate an area of a few hundred kilometres was definitely strong beyond belief.

No wonder people often talked about how they could easily erase an entire kingdom by themselves!

Xuan Hao did not correct her, even though he personally thought that the one who brought about the destruction of Daoist Red Dust was someone above the Domain Lord Realm. Daoist Red Dust was just lucky enough to be remembered as having fought someone here, thus resulting in the creation of the Red Dust Desert.

The most likely thing to happen was that Daoist Red Dust offended someone above the Domain Lord Realm and was killed off, the desert was most likely created from a single attack by that expert.

Other than that, the Red Dust Desert was suspiciously shaped like a giant palm print… Xuan Hao honestly had no idea why people had not questioned the suspicious shape of the Red Dust Desert, even though it looked like someone extremely powerful using the Gods Palm Technique…

"Hah… Why can't people around here see such an obvious thing…?"

"Hm? Did you say something master?" As Xuan Hao was lamenting to himself, he earned a questioning look from Qing Yi.

"Ah, its nothing."

Brushing it off as nothing, Qing Yi only looked at him suspicious for a little while before returning to observing the desert passing by below them.

"Hurry up! The Wild Serpent Bandits will catch up to us soon!"

Somewhere close to the exit of the Red Dust Desert a caravan was anxiously speeding through the desert as fast as the weak demon beasts could drag the carriages.

Qing Ming, who had just thought that he would catch a ride back home with the small trading caravan, was extremely anxious at the moment.

Normally, desert bandits would be quite rare to encounter and even if they encountered any most of them were at the Qi Condensation Realm, Qing Ming was a Foundation Establishment cultivator! How many desert bandits could possibly deal with someone that strong?

The Wild Serpent Bandits that were currently chasing after them, however, was another story all together.

Recently, they gained quite a large amount of fame after the leader of the Serpent Bandits broke through and reached the Core Formation Realm!

How could he possibly deal with someone at the Core Formation Realm!?

"Th-there is someone up ahead!"

Exiting the carriage fearfully, Qing Ming looked ahead and saw him.

Serpent Lord! The leader of the serpent bandits!

The carriages immediately came to a stop as people slowly grabbed their weapons shakingly and steeped out to face the enemy.

"Haha, look at what we have here boys! It looks like these weaklings want to fight us!" The Serpent Lord let out a vicious laugh as the other bandits slowly surrounded the trading caravan while laughing together with their boss.

"If you fellows want to keep your life, leave all the goods and pretty ladies here, hehe, this lord needs some fun tonight!" The Serpent Lord Arrogantly steeped forward and demanded, as a lustful smile slowly spread across his face while looking at the few females present in the trading caravan.

"Never! You will have to step over my dead body before I let you sully my wife and daughter!" A man heroically stepped forward as he looked threateningly at the Serpent Lord.

Qing Ming felt the same way, but did not dare step forward, he knew that if he mentioned his family background, the Serpent Lord would most likely just kill everyone present to leave no evidence behind.

"Haha, I see, boys! Kill the men and leave the women behind for us to have some fun with later! Hehe!" Not even waiting a split second, the Serpent Lord viciously laughed as he ordered his men.

Is there nobody that can safe us…? Qing Ming helplessly looked around as the bandits slowly moved closer and closer.

It was at that moment of despair, that it suddenly happened!

"Ah, what is that!?" As they made their way towards the end of the desert, Qing Yi spotted something beneath them, causing her to tug Xuan Hao's robe slightly and point towards something in the distance.

"Hm?" Turning to look where Qing Yi was pointing, Xuan Hao quickly spotted what she was talking about.

A few hundred meters away a group of what looked like desert bandits were surrounding a small caravan. The caravan was severely outnumbered and was shakingly holding onto their weapons as the desert bandits slowly approached them.

"Th-that is the Qing Ming, the first elder's son!" As they approached the scene, Qing Yi immediately recognized one of the people in the trading caravan and called out in a surprised tone.

Xuan Hao heard her and immediately started descending towards the caravan below, much to the surprise of the group of desert bandits and members of the caravan.
