Chapter 98: Kill Bai Ye Qing If You Want

Silence prevailed. The padding of multiple footsteps could be heard and Mo Yize panicked. She looked shiftily towards the direction of the people and shook her head.

"Let me in. I can't get caught, okay?" she hissed.

"And why should I do that?" Qian Meng asked, amused.

"Because you're fucking my boyfriend and I will tell everybody that. Your stock prices will plummet and the fortune you boast about will be gone within hours."

The threat grated at Qian Meng's nerves. "Get your facts right. I have no clue who your boyfriend is. And I am single and not engaging in any sexual activity."

Mo Yize rolled her eyes. "Don't pretend with me." She pushed Qian Meng aside and entered the room.

The security made their way to her door and Qian Meng stared at their face. The manager who had led her to her car that evening was also there.

"I don't need you to drag anyone out but I would like to inform you that I will move out of this room within the week. I'll settle the outstanding bill for this month."

The manager's eyes widened. "I'm sorry for the gross misdemeanor on the staff's part. We will ensure it never happens again." He bowed deeply.

"I don't want your apology. I know it is not your fault. But letting strangers know my room number is the worst thing you can do in this business. It is dangerous and you took no precautions to ask me if I wanted these people near me. One of them is a stalker and the other a raging bitch that could sooner take a knife to my throat than my worst enemy."

The manager spluttered.

"I've let the raging bitch in. I'll call her keeper in a while and let him take her. You may leave now."

She closed the door in a hurry and walked to Mo Yize, who was eating out of her plate without scruples.

"What happened to being single? You were eating with someone, weren't you?" she taunted.

"I used that spoon and chopsticks," Qian Meng said blandly. "And that someone was strange… just like you." She thought about Mo Qingchen and had to stop herself.

"Yes, everyone is strange and beneath you, I know." Mo Yize took another spoonful of food. "Then why did you get engaged to Bai Ye Qing?"

Yun Qian Meng pursed her lips. "Is that what people are saying? That I am engaged to him?"

She nodded. "They said he proposed to you."

"They should also be saying that I rejected his proposal," she bit out. "Are you sure you were angry about Bai Ye Qing wanting to marry me and not because you were hungry?" Qian Meng looked pointedly at the bowl which was close to being cleaned of food.

Mo Yize shrugged.

"Why did you reject him? He's such a sweet boy and he would do anything to make you fall in love with him."

Qian Meng rolled her eyes. "It's been four years since I saw you but you still don't know what the world is like." It was incredible how na?ve this woman was. She was twenty-eight, but her family had sheltered her from the harsh realities of the world.

In maturity, she was nothing more than a teenager.

"I am older than you," she commented. "And have seen a lot more of the world. Don't act all high and mighty with me. I know all your secrets."

"Do you?" Qian Meng gave her a piercing look. "You're deceived easily." She laughed. She walked over to her locker and retrieved the file on Bai Ye Qing. "You're Saturday," she said pointedly and threw the file on the spot beside Mo Yize's hand.

The other glanced at it sceptically and finally touched the cover. For the next ten minutes, she stared in horror.

"You've made this up," she whispered accusingly. "This is bullshit."

"It is. And you got played." She sat across from Mo Yize and saw the other losing her fight.

"I bought him a seven-million-dollar house!" she choked.

"Yes, you did." Stupid. "Don't buy anything for someone who you're not contractually bound to."

Those words drove her down a memory lane. Mo Qingchen's rushed back to her.

'Stop,' she warned herself. This was not the time to think about him.

"I am going to kill this slut," she swore, the picture of Jia Ai. Qian Meng paused.

"You've lost your mind," she commented. "What did she do wrong?" Qian Meng asked incredulously.

"She is stealing what is mine!" Mo Yize claimed.

"Yize, Bai Ye Qing is not yours. Just because he scammed you out of money, you are not entitled to him. He's a manwhore and a gambling addict. This girl is just like everyone else." Qian Meng didn't need to tell Mo Yize that this girl conspired with Bai Ye Qing to do some pretty horrible things, because that was her suspicion.

"She knows. She knows. I can tell you and she let it go on. A stain on our gender!" Mo Yize seethed.

"Sure. But Bai Ye Qing is the one who cheated on you. You don't even know this Jia Ai. And she doesn't own you anything."

"You want me to let her off?"

"Never said that. The greatest thing about cheaters is that they keep cheating. Bai Ye Qing cheated on you with Jia Ai. I can guarantee that he will cheat on her with some pretty young thing when he is done squeezing her dry for that she is worth." Qian Meng shrugged.

"I don't follow your logic. You want me to sit like a duck and watch them get away with it?"

"You keep putting words in my mouth. Go ahead, kill Bai Ye Qing if you want. You won't see me stopping you." Yun Qian Meng walked over to grab a bottle of water and passed it to Mo Yize. "But please, don't tell the police that I gave you the idea. I would like to be on the right side of the law."
