Chapter 5: Slimes!
Chapter 5: Slimes!
Knowing the situation of the forest didn't make Draco happy at all, after all, goblins and other humanoid monsters weren't the only danger. There were wolves, spiders, and other monsters like a strange two-headed black hound who roamed around everywhere.
'This forest is too dangerous; I must plan my steps carefully and cautiously.' He thought aloud.
"Hmm... System, do you have a map function?" He said, after all, he didn't know everything the system could offer.
[I do, Host. However, it can only scan a certain area currently.]
"That's alright, show it to me and mark the locations of the slimes and similar weak monsters according to the memories devoured for me, and if possible, it should be a relatively safe location with a hideout and a source of water nearby." He commanded as he contemplated.
The memories proved to be more useful than he thought.
[Very well, Host]
An instant later, a map panel appeared in his field of vision.
It was initially zoomed out and dark, with nothing but occasional beelines; those were the wolf's visited areas. There was also a village, which he guessed was the goblins'.
The map then zoomed and a location with a big tree appeared. The area around it was more empty compared to others, but, it wasn't an uncommon sight on the map.
[This area is where the slimes generally live; it is about a 3-minute run for you, and then 30 seconds away from it is a long river with a straight line that is visible in the entirety of the unlocked map.]
"Oh, that's good; let's get going." Without delay, Draco ran non-stop till he was able to see the area the system talked about.
'Oof, that was close; I nearly encountered two goblin groups in the way.' he wiped his face as he thought while slightly perspiring.
[Quest Issued!]
[Quest: Kill The Slimes!]
[Quest Info: You have started your journey and you are in dire need of sacrifices to elevate your slim chances of survival in this dangerous forest. You are also in need of a temporary shelter. Kill the slimes in this area to progress and rightfully earn their shelter after the massacre.]

[Quest Progress: 0/56]

"Ooh! That's nice." Draco was surprised by the quest rewards. The child in him was excited
"Now I got motivated!" He smiled.
"Look at those blue and bouncy balls of slime with their cute eyes and round mouths. Daddy is going to devour you!" A wide smirk appeared on Draco's face, and the evil nature of his racial trait immediately took over. He even started rubbing his hands together.
"System Analysis." Before he attacked, he hid himself behind a tree, very close to the slimes, and analyzed them.
[Roger!]
[<----------Analysis---------->]
<Race: Normal Slime( F-Rank Creature)>

[<-------------------->]
"Oh... Those are some pitiful stats..." Draco squinted his eyes in pity
[Affirmative host, F-Rank Races start with 1 in each stat while also having some lesser enhancements, and that is multiplied by 5 for every subsequent rank. So for example, E-rank races like goblins start with 5 in every stat.]
"Oh... That's truly unfair!" He said.
Then he looked at the slimes and got ready to pounce.
"Let's Go!" He shouted as he ran at the slimes head-on. He was no longer worried that they'd be a threat to him.
"Haaaa!" He ran to the closest slime, and then he realized.
'How will I kill them?' He had no sword, no weapon at all, even his arms were useless, the slimes were on the gound.
Then he had an idea.
The bouncy little creature took its time to notice that a demonic imp was coming to take its life. By the time it did, a small red foot was right in front of it.
"Haaaa!" Draco shouted as he kicked the slime like a ball.
*Squish*
A funny sound was heard as the blue slime was launched for a good distance until it hit the tree and slowly slid down.
"Goaaaal!" Draco shouted again, overly excited at the thought of enjoying a fantasy life. Such feelings even made him forget the perilous situation he just got out of.
"Did it die?" he wondered. Unfortunately for him, it didn't .
he analyzed it again.
<HP: Injured, Scared.... 14/30>
"What? that's ridiculous! System, didn't you say the recommended level was 5, and shouldn't I be able to one-shot it? At this rate, it will be hard to kill 56 of them." He asked.
[Affirmative Host, The Recommended Level is 5, However, your stats are unbalanced, leading to your current difficulty.]
"Hmm... I see, Well, I will deal with this somehow." And then he dashed to the nearest slime.
"Haaaa." *Squish* "Shooo!" *Squish* "Hoooo!" *Squish*
Slime after slime, he didn't stop as he rapidly shot 6 of them to the tree.
"Phew, That was satisfying!" he said.
However, his joy was short-lasting, as suddenly, something sharp hit him.
[-1 HP... 35/36]
"What's this?" He scratched his back to alleviate the pain while looking behind him.
and there, right below, was a small, slightly pointed rock.
Draco looked up and he was surprised to see all the slimes looking at him with cute, angry eyes and rocks in their stomachs, ready to be launched from their mouths.
"No one told me slimes were this fierce!" Draco was slightly intimidated as he took two steps back.
