Chapter 179: Palkus the Young Goman!
Chapter 179: Palkus the Young Goman!
The Valenstein empire was huge and ever-growing, even the altar that was on its edge was now the center of its capital.
The main citizens of this empire are Draco's subordinates, his pets, undead, and the gomen. However, it quickly became a tourist attraction after Draco's feats were made public, and some even decided to permanently reside there.
The empire then took the traditional path of forming clans and what not, but with a single ancestral emperor who shall not change for as long as the empire remains standing. There was no imperial family or lineage currently, as the emperor, Draco Velenstein, had neither a wife nor a child yet.
The gomen formed many such clans and families, some of which will be called the Founding Seven.
The gomen who were recognized by Draco during the war against Fate were allowed the honor of taking on last names. They were the mightiest amongst the Gomen and to this day, they strived to reach the peak of their form and make Draco proud.
It has been exactly 37 years since they started their journey to reach their ultimate form, and close to 38 years since they had first met their lord and benefactor.
Draco was living on a higher realm, thus, a single day of his equaled a year of theirs, and now, it has been 7 years since Draco ascended, and the same year Leona did.
Within the wide streets of Valenstein City, a group of children gomen were running around, with a single child following behind them.
The ground of the city was modernized with the asphalt-like material Draco suggested the undead to use; however, the buildings still held their medieval style they were first built with.
"I'm gonna catch you." The child on the back warned playfully as he sped up suddenly, aiming for the closest child to him. His short brown hair was dancing with the wind and his green eyes shone deeply.
"Ah, Pal is gonna catch me." The girl, seeing the boy getting closer to her, was first surprised before she playfully cried, her pink dress not helping her run faster.
"Hahahaha, Dalila is such a snail."
"Right right." The children in front laughed at the scene as they ran faster to avoid Dalila coming for them when she inevitably got touched by Pal.
"Palkus!" Suddenly, the boy heard his name being called by a familiar voice, He stopped in his tracks and turned in the direction where the voice came from.
"Sorry guys, mom's calling." He said.
"I'm coming, ma." He shouted while running in the direction of his house.
One turn and he found his mother with her hands on her waist.
"Didn't I tell you not to run off?" she berated.
"I'm sorry, the boys told me to join them; I couldn't say no." Palkus scratched his head as he looked at his mother with puppy eyes.
*Sigh*
"Your dad is back; it's time for your lecture." His mother sighed while shaking her; in the end, she just smiled and told him the good news.
"Dad is back? Yupee!" The little goman jumped in joy and launched himself at his mother.
"Let's go, let's go!" He pulled her excitedly as they both headed towards their house.
The mother just helplessly followed her son, her white dress and white hair flowing freely.
The gomen were special in the way that children could come off slightly different in physical features than their parents. That is because they gain their parent's earliest looks; they resemble them when they were their age. They do, however, gain the special properties the parents have at the age they give birth to the child, yet they only awaken after a series of lectures.
The gomen were also fiercely loyal to their partners, so there was never a chance of the child not being the father's, not like they couldn't know.
After traveling quite a distance, the son and his mother found themselves in front of a large estate, incomparable to the houses in the area where the child was playing.
Seeing the gate of his estate in front of him, the young goman ran at full speed as the gates opened automatically and headed towards the inside, his mother following slowly behind him.
Opening the door, the young man swiftly maneuvered through the estate, passing through the maids and butlers, who were surprised by the energetic little young master and smiled.
"Dad!" Opening the door to the private Arena, the young man shouted. The dad, who was in his armor, turned slowly to look at his son.
"D-dad?" The young man was scared, the aura his father emitted was nothing like the kind and warm one he was used to.
"Palkus, you are here. Get ready, it's time for you to awaken your potential." The father announced as he took out his gloves, the air around him warned his child that he wasn't joking.
"Eh?" The young goman didn't understand what was going on—awakening potential? What's that, Was it edible? why has he never heard of it before? Weren't they supposed to have another fun lecture together?
"How old are you now?" The father asked, his long white hair illuminated by the son. The large private arena had a glass ceiling, while the ground was made of dirt.
When the two usually had their lectures, the father sometimes needed to show his son some moves, and a few times they even fought together. Of course, Palkus was beaten senseless, but nonetheless, it was fun.
"I'm ten years old, dad." The young man, intimidated by his father's cold face, replied.
"Good, let's begin." Getting closer to his son, the father seemed ready to fight to the death.
"Eh? huh? M-Mom!" The child was scared beyond belief as he screamed for his mother while turning back to run away from where he just came.
However...
"Well, well, sweety, I'm sorry but mommy can't let you."
