A disciple of the Xue clan was bravely swinging his sword against a demonic beast, and with a sudden cry of pain, his eyes turned vacant as his body became stiff. Taking advantage of that momentary pause, the demonic beast that was fighting against him bit onto him and tossed him out of the city walls.

The corpse was instantly dismembered the moment it fell onto the beast wave outside, turning into a mess of splattering blood and flesh.

This was the might of the ?Heart-hurting Arrow?.

With the heavens and earth as his bow and arrows, and the power of his interminable heart, his shots would be able to never miss their target, even from a thousand metres away.

Murong Lin didn’t have to load an arrow, just by pulling the bow, he fired a shot with the power that sprouted from his heart, piercing the chest of the Xue clan’s disciple and causing him to die instantly.

Murong Lin wasn’t worried about an autopsy, since those that died within the beast wave wouldn’t even leave a corpse behind.

“Xiu!” Murong Lin shot again.

Yet another disciple of the Xue clan died on the spot, and his body was ripped apart by the beasts instantly.

Even after his death, fear and confusion remained in his eyes.

As if he had felt a great pain in the instant before his death.

“Xiu!” Another shot.

A disciple that had just killed a demonic beast in front of him froze as his eyes glazed over, and it only took a split second before the beasts behind opportunistically pounced on him.

“Ahh! Duo Ming!” Three of the disciples nearby had seen this sight, in anger, they charged forwards and stabbed the demonic beasts to death, but they couldn’t even save his corpse.

“How hateful! How did this happen?” Xue Ling Na had also noticed what was going on, and her expression changed dramatically.

In her eyes, the disciples that were sent from the Xue clan were all capable, and they definitely had the ability to survive even in front of the countless beasts.

But three disciples had died now, and not even a single one of them had their body left intact. More importantly, one of them was the grandson of the clan’s great elder, Xue Duo Ming.

She would be held responsible for his death.

“Did someone ambush us?” Just as this thought surfaced in her mind, Xue Ling Na quickly brushed it off.

Who would dare to kill the disciples of the Xue clan in bold daylight like this?

They would’ve been caught the moment they started to move.

But why did three disciples die consecutively like that?

Xue Ling Na couldn’t figure out why, and she instead chose to vent her anger onto the demonic beasts before her.

After killing three people, Murong Lin kept his ‘Nonchalant Guest’s bow’ happily back in its place.

His gaze fell back onto the battle of the four Manifestation realm experts, and it was already clear who had lost.

The fire behemoth and the double-headed python were retreating, it was obvious that they were no match for the Manifestation realm humans.

With a pained cry, one of the heads of the python was severed as blood and flesh spewed out. It fearfully tried to back away as it commanded the demonic beasts around to protect it.

Finally, with the sacrifice of many other beasts, the two Manifestation realm demonic monsters were able to escape. But this left their remaining forces vulnerable to the two Manifestation realm experts. After a fierce battle, the beast wave started retreating, leaving behind almost ten thousand corpses in its wake.

The humans on the east wall started to cheer at that sight, celebrating as they waved their weapons in the air before quickly heading over to the other walls.

After half an hour, the battle had ended on the other two walls as well.

Leaving behind the five corpses of the Manifestation realm demonic beasts and almost thirty thousand demonic beasts, the beast wave retreated.

And this just was the beginning of the beast wave.

Returning to the city’s centre, Murong Lin watched with a smile as Xue Ling Na hurriedly led the group of Xue clan’s disciples in.

One of the disciples, unable to contain himself, shouted at Murong Lin in anger, “What are you smiling at?”

Shaking his head, Murong Lin stopped smiling, “I thought of something that made me happy.”

“You!” That disciple was furious, and before he could say anything else, he was stopped by Xue Ling Na.

“Come back!” Her cold voice rang out, before turning to Murong Lin, “Hah, I hope you survive.”

Murong Lin wanted to laugh, but he instead responded emotionally, “Ah? I didn’t know you cared so much about me, I……”

But before he could even finish, the group of Xue clan members left.

“Hahahaha!” Laughing crazily, Murong returned with the ‘Flowering Steel Trees’ behind him.

In the following days, the beast wave gathered and attacked a few more times, but it wasn’t as strong as the first wave. Under the command of the Manifestation realm experts, they successfully dealt with the beast wave without many casualties.

And on the fifth day, the beast wave exploded in strength.

The vast number of beasts covered the skies and the lands as they rushed out from within the demonic beast forest. There were more than a hundred thousand demonic beasts, led by sixteen Manifestation realm demonic beasts, the strongest among them being at the seventh layer of the Manifestation realm. Their assault was no longer split between the three walls, but they instead fearlessly charged towards the southern city walls.

The fifteen manifestation realm human experts went through their Manifestation transformations, using the aura of their mortal forms to threaten the sixteen Manifestation realm experts within the beast wave.

And on the city walls, more than ten thousand garrison troops and allies were facing over a hundred thousand demonic beasts.

Blood and flesh were splattered all over the city walls as ear-splitting roars rang out.

Murong Lin stood and fanned himself comfortably behind the ‘Flowering Steel Trees’, without any intention of fighting. However, not a single person present could rebuke him, simply due to the fact that no one knew his true strength and that his servants were working hard in his stead.

On the other side, Xue Lin Na led less than 20 Xue clan disciples in a fight with the demonic beasts. They had gathered together to prevent any ambushes.

Murong Lin had assassinated a total of 10 Xue clan disciples, including a disciple that had lost his life due to carelessness, the group of Xue clan members that had lost 11 members and were now as powerless as they were infuriated.

They were clearly very careful, yet no matter how cautious they were, they couldn’t avoid Murong Lin’s ?Heart-hurting arrow?, a spiritual skill with an invisible, formless attack. Furthermore, the disciples that had lost their lives didn’t even leave behind their dead bodies, which were ravaged by the demonic beasts in battle, making it impossible for them to investigate the cause of their deaths.

Xue Lin Na’s suspicions of foul play were gradually disappearing, and she thought that perhaps the disciples of her clan were simply too weak. As of right now, she chose to defend the side without using her full strength, trying to observe the surroundings. Her gaze fell onto Murong Lin, who was still leisurely fanning himself, causing disdain to flash past her eyes before she turned away.

At the peak of the battle, five Manifestation realm demonic beasts and one human in the Manifestation realm had fallen.

The demonic beasts continued to charge forwards recklessly despite their injuries and pain, blood and flesh continued to spill accopanied by constant screaming and howling.

Murong Lin couldn’t spectate any further as well, hundreds of demonic beasts were surrounding his area, attacking without a care for their lives. So he had no choice but to take action as well. Under the effects of ?Lifelessness Law?, Murong Lin’s punches were stronger than higher Black level spiritual skills, and the bodies of the Flesh Refining realm demonic beasts disintegrated upon contact with his attacks.

Ping! A dark wicked tiger in the Crystallization realm exploded, its blood and flesh scattering over the ground.

Cha! The head of a sword spirit beast was blown off, dying instantly.

And just like that, the forces of the beast wave were gradually dwindling.

On the other end, a demonic golden-speckled python at the Manifestation realm that the height of the city walls suddenly shrieked as its skull started to crack. Dying at the hands of a human expert at the Manifestation realm, its giant body crashed into the group, squashing a number of demonic beasts to death.

This was the lowest point of the beast wave’s momentum, and at the same time, the human expert at the manifestation realm swung his arm, causing over ten demonic beasts to explode in one go.

“Kill every single demonic beast! May the Yan live forever!” With the battle cry of the garrison general, humans began their assault as the demonic beasts finally became flustered with fear.

There were even people that jumped off the city walls, running directly into the beast wave with battle-crazed eyes.

In that instant, there were only the roars of humans and the wailing of the demonic beasts left on the battlefield.

After cleaning up the demonic beasts around him, Murong Lin shook his head and turned towards the fight of the Manifestation realm experts.

There were only six Manifestation realm beasts left struggling in the fight, while only two Manifestation realm experts were lost on the human side.

The two elders of the Xue clan had returned to their disciples, carefully watching over them.

The eleven deaths of their disciples had agitated them, while these deaths were something that they couldn’t have predicted, they still had to shoulder the responsibility for their lives.

And at this moment, the sound of a bell rang out from the skies.

“Dong!”

The sound reverberated throughout the skies and the land, booming in the ears of the people present as it shook them.

At the same time, a golden halo appeared in the skies, spreading slowly.

The formless halo resembled a cloud as it floated high up in the skies, but it continued to move past these people, travelling over a few hundred miles.

“It’s a remnant!” Someone that knew what was going on shouted, their face filled with joy.
