Chapter 191:

Chapter 191:

On Sunday, Lynch had been in Bupayne for a week, but he still hadn't spent all the money in his pocket. Spending this money was proving to be much harder than he had imagined.

Around six in the evening, he headed to an estate in the suburbs of Bupayne. Manson accompanied Lynch as an intermediary, along with Vera.

As an outsider, Lynch needed to be more formal when attending a local party to integrate better into the local social circles.

Respect is the foundation of social interaction. By showing respect and formality, Lynch would find doors opening for him quickly.

At such gatherings, having a female companion was also crucial.

Vera initially didn't want to go, as attending such an event with Lynch could easily lead to misunderstandings. However, when Lynch mentioned that if she didn't go, he would have to "hire" some girls, Vera reluctantly agreed.

When the group arrived at the estate, the party had not yet started. It was an outdoor event, and while the staff were still setting up, some guests were already chatting on the side.

Lynch's arrival drew attention. The person at the center of the crowd smiled and walked over briskly, extending his hand, "Herbert, you must be Lynch."

His tone was decisive and certain. Two days earlier, he had "seen" Lynch through newspaper photos and learned about the remarkable achievements this young man had made in the small city.

Herbert admired people like Lynch, not for any romantic reasons but purely because Lynch's adventurous spirit was commendable.

All financial professionals would be told about the term "adventurous spirit" when they entered the industry as every investment and speculation was an adventure. Only those with a true adventurous spirit could create miracles in this field. Lynch was such a miracle-maker, full of adventurous spirit.

This led Herbert to invite Lynch over for a conversation, as this party could, in some ways, potentially change a nation.

Lynch shook Herbert's hand, and Herbert introduced him to the others.

Not everyone present was a local; many were from other places, all with similar ideas to Lynch's. It was easier to buy bonds here.

"Before you arrived, we were discussing something interesting," Herbert, a very amiable and easy-going person, drew Lynch into their conversation, making everyone laugh.

Herbert continued, "We said that just a few days ago, each of us thought we were the only ones who had this idea, but it turns out we have many like-minded friends. It's quite surprising and encouraging."

His voice grew louder, drawing the attention of the fashionable ladies nearby, who quickly shifted their conversation from new films and fashion trends to Lynch.

Most of the women here were in their thirties to forties, an age where they easily took a liking to young men.

Despite his mature demeanor and intentionally old-fashioned attire, the women quickly saw through Lynch's youth. Some even whispered to Vera, asking if she played a teacher role in their lives.

The boldness of the topics the women discussed could overwhelm many men. They spoke about very private matters without any inhibition. Vera's face quickly turned red and felt hot; she regretted coming over.

She felt embarrassed and found it difficult to respond to these unreserved questions, yet she couldn't be too aloof. Otherwise, the women might blame Lynch for bringing a companion unsuitable for their social circle, making them feel offended.

With the sudden outburst of exclamations from the women, the men's gaze was once again drawn toward them.

Herbert glanced at the excited women and shrugged with a smile, "Women, they're like that."

His slightly dismissive and indifferent attitude resonated with the underlying machismo of all the men present, who raised their glasses in agreement.

After a few more arrivals, Herbert got to the purpose of the gathering.

"Whether early or late, our goal is the same."

"We need to make these defaulted bonds redeemable again."

"Initially, I saw this as a high-risk speculation driven by its high return rate. But knowing that so many others share my view significantly increases our chances of success."

Surrounded by people, Herbert exuded confidence. He was a well-known financial professional in Bupayne, famous for his insight and tactics.

His specialty was discovering hidden gems and selling them at high prices. His most talked-about skill was dismantling companies for profit. Over the years, he made considerable money with this method, followed by a group of investors who firmly believed in his ability to continue creating miracles.

This bond acquisition was no different; many had entrusted him with their money, willing to gamble with him, boosting his confidence.

"The power of one is limited, but the power of ten or a hundred is limitless."

Everyone, including Lynch, couldn't help but nod. Herbert's constant success endowed him with a unique charisma, making others believe in his ability to succeed.

"The purpose of this party is to encourage cooperation and align our goals. We can discuss our ideas and find common ground."

He looked around, "Who wants to go first?"

There were over twenty gentlemen present, and the atmosphere was relatively relaxed. At this moment, everyone was looking at each other, hesitant to be the first to step forward.

Herbert wasn't in a hurry. He just watched, ready to speak himself if needed, to show his generosity and selflessness.

After about ten to twenty seconds of silence, just as the atmosphere was turning awkward, Lynch stepped forward.

"If no one else wants to, I'll share my thoughts." His sincere and friendly smile was hard to refuse, and Herbert nodded.

With no objections, Lynch began, "I chose to buy bonds now because of their return rate…"

"Returns of several tens of times can bring staggering wealth. I've once heard a saying that when returns exceed a certain threshold, businessmen may pursue these returns by taking on enormous risks, engaging in frenzied plunder."

"Some even describe our pursuit of profit as 'selling the noose that will hang us,' but I disagree..."

Herbert had a faint smile on his face, concealing his true emotions, while the others laughed. However, Lynch's words quickly caused their laughter to catch in their throats.

"If the returns are high enough, what can stop us?" Lynch held his wine glass, his slicked-back hair and old-fashioned clothes unable to hide his youth. Yet his words and expression gave the impression of facing a seasoned rogue. "To ensure our investments don't falter or stagnate, we should actively push certain things."

"The Conservatives' foolish policies gave us this opportunity. If we can promote reconciliation between the new cabinet government and the international community, our bonds will regain their value."

"Some things are beyond our control, but others are our expertise."

Herbert nodded slightly, noting Lynch's key phrase, "new cabinet."

This was also his thought: manipulating voters would be easier in the next decade than ever before.

As long as workers were given a meal, they'd vote the candidate designated by their employer, overthrowing the old president and cabinet, electing a new president and cabinet that aligned with everyone's interests, repairing international relations, and yielding returns many times over, even multiples thereof.

Wasn't this the ultimate goal pursued tirelessly by every businessman, every capitalist?

However, some found Lynch's ideas…unbelievable or too extreme.

A blonde man in his forties expressed his dissent, "Mr. Lynch, your idea is indeed constructive, but we don't know how much effort it'll take."

"Moreover, the next election is still two years away. But every additional day that these bonds pile up in our hands, we incur more losses."

"My idea is simpler."

"The world war severely damaged almost every country. They urgently need funds to rebuild, which is partly why they defaulted."

"They are unable to fully honor their bonds in cash; however, what if we change our approach?"

His suggestion intrigued everyone, "What if we take our money to their countries for post-war reconstruction investment, in exchange for their redemption promises."

"Not only do we gain profits from the reconstruction, but we also increase the value of these bonds without offending any government. I believe this is the most appropriate approach."Please vote for this novel at /series/blackstone-code/There are advance chapters available nowAccess will be granted 24 hours after the donationTier 1: 7 Advance chapters Link
