Chapter 499 The Power of Three Divine Authorities! Is Hades in Danger?
Chapter 499 The Power of Three Divine Authorities! Is Hades in Danger?
Damn it! Damn them all! How dare they? He was the god of the Orichalcum Nation, yet these people were showing concern for an outsider?
The battle hadn't even started! He hadn't lost yet! These despicable fools were openly humiliating him. Were they conspiring together to disgust him deliberately?
Even the high-ranking deity hadn't anticipated that Eterna would extend goodwill toward this Hades. Did that mean Eterna also believed this man might actually possess the power to stand against five gods?
But the high-ranking deity didn't dwell on it for long. Whether it was true or false would soon be revealed in battle. Discover hidden tales at empire
Sterl didn't hesitate either. After briefly acknowledging the surrounding gods, he strode confidently into the Temple Space.
The scenery before him shifted instantly. He now stood in a serene, open plain, where strange and vibrant flowers and herbs grew in abundance, adorning the entire space with an extraordinary beauty and divine charm. In the distance, rolling mountains stretched toward the horizon, and atop them, intricate and towering structures could be faintly seen.
It was clear that this place wasn't just a space for gods to hone their abilities through trials. It also served as a perfect retreat for isolation and reflection.
Sterl's gaze moved skyward. The sky above reflected the happenings within the temple itself. Inside, the gathered gods were all intently watching the events unfold in the Temple Space. The two spaces were entirely connected, and every move, every action, was visible in perfect clarity.
Only then did Sterl shift his attention to Boris, who stood before him. The latter's face was already twisted with rage. The sheer fury he felt made his expression appear grotesque and distorted.
"You finally came in. I was starting to think you might kneel down and beg me for forgiveness instead," Boris snarled, his voice dripping with venom as he stared at the calm, indifferent "Hades" with clenched teeth. His resentment toward Sterl was written plainly across his face.
Sterl's response to Boris's hostility was nothing more than a dismissive glance. "The strong speak with their strength. Trash… can only run their mouths."
The retort hit Boris like a hammer, leaving him utterly speechless. His face flushed an angry red, turning the color of a bruised liver, as he struggled to contain his humiliation and fury.
"You'll regret every single thing you've done today!"
Unable to endure Hades's arrogance any longer, Boris snapped. His initial plan to humiliate and torture his opponent step by step was thrown out the window. Now, all he wanted was to unleash his full power and crush this man into the ground. He would obliterate every last shred of that insufferable pride.
With that resolve burning in his chest, Boris prepared to deliver his most devastating assault, determined to leave Hades utterly suppressed and shattered.
In an instant, the powers of the three divine authorities—Curses, Desert, and Battle—burst into action!
Boris's Divine Power surged within him, activated to its full potential.
"Curse Aura!"
With a low shout, an invisible halo expanded outward, engulfing everything around it.
The power of the aura spread across the skies and the land, leaving no place to escape.
This was an ability Boris had developed himself after mastering the Law of Curses and the Curse Divine Authority.
Using the wide-range capabilities of the Curse Aura, he would first lock onto his target, then concentrate all his curse power to weaken his opponent to the greatest extent.
Immediately, Sterl felt the effects. His energy, attack power, mental focus—everything began to decline at an alarming rate. His various attributes were plummeting across the board.
Not only that, but after mere moments, he noticed that over a dozen debuffs had been applied to him, including slowing, weakening, pain, and life drain, among others.
Of course, this was happening before Sterl had fully revealed his own power.
Seeing Boris grow more confident, Sterl decided not to delay any longer. He drew upon the Divine Power within him and activated his ascend to godhood state!
Suddenly, various Laws and divine authorities merged into his body. The debuffs on him were shattered, with most of them dissipating instantly.
The remaining debuffs were neutralized by the overwhelming number of buffs that surged to life within him.
"Humph. Acting now? It's far too late!"
Boris sneered coldly as he unleashed the full might of his three divine authorities.
The Curse Aura around them flared brightly, and the curse-infused Divine Power quickly gathered, converging onto Sterl.
"You shall suffer the Curse of Fate! You will be imprisoned by the desert! Let me show you the extent of my power!"
The cursed light intensified around Sterl, and a system prompt appeared before him:
[You have been struck by the Curse of Fate Divine Power. Your energy has decreased by 80%, HP has dropped by 50%, and defense has fallen by 50%. Additionally, all attributes will decrease by % every minute.]
Sterl's eyes narrowed as he processed the effects.
Before he could react, the plain beneath his feet suddenly transformed into an endless desert.
The rolling golden sands, seemingly soft and loose, were infused with a Power of Confinement akin to a swamp.
If this were an ordinary desert or marsh, no matter how vast, it would never have been able to hold Sterl's body in place. But this was no ordinary terrain—it was the manifestation of the Desert Divine Authority's power!
Every single grain of sand contained a trace of Divine Power.
In mere moments, the swirling sands completely enveloped Sterl.
The sky and earth disappeared, replaced entirely by the omnipresent yellow sands.
The desert churned and swirled with relentless force, amplifying its Power of Confinement with each passing second, tightening its grip on Sterl.
Even for gods, under the weakening effects of the Curse of Fate, it was almost impossible to escape the confines of the desert. Even if one used their divine authority and Divine Power to counteract it, they could at best neutralize the weakening effects of the curse. But Boris—he wielded the power of three divine authorities!
"Boris's power has grown stronger again!"
"I remember his Desert Divine Authority didn't have this kind of effect before."
"A dual-layered weakening and imprisonment... Hades might already be trapped."
"With Boris's strength now, isn't he almost on par with Eterna?"
"If it were me facing this kind of attack, I'd probably surrender immediately."
This scene left many of the gods in the temple murmuring in amazement. Clearly, Boris's outburst of power had exceeded their expectations. It was no wonder he chose this moment to step forward—his true intention was likely to use Hades as an excuse to topple Eterna from his position and claim the role of the King's City's primary overseer for himself.
For this day, who knew how long Boris had been hiding his strength and how much preparation he had made?
The gods occasionally glanced at the high-ranking deity, only to find that even they had a hint of surprise on their face. Boris's sequence of attacks was a perfect combination of AOE, control, debuffs, and considerable damage.
And yet, this was merely a cover for Boris's real ultimate move!
The high-ranking deity could feel it—Boris was building up to a devastating strike, with his Battle Divine Authority as the core, layered with the overwhelming power of Curses and Desert.
While the gods watched with rapt attention, Morette, Diana, and others were visibly anxious. Diana, in particular, looked deeply concerned. Her own divine authority, The God of Archery and the Swamp, had significant capabilities for pulling and controlling enemies. Yet now, Boris had developed the controlling abilities of his Desert Law to a level comparable to her Swamp Law.
"Hades, you mustn't let anything happen to yourself," Diana silently prayed, her heart filled with worry.
Likewise, Morette and the other five gods, who owed their lives to Hades, were internally screaming in panic. They didn't want anything to happen to him.
But under the current circumstances, doubt crept into their minds. Could Hades really escape? Was he simply skilled at offense but weak when it came to defense?
"Hahaha! This is the price of underestimating me!"
"You arrogant fool—kneel before me!"
At that moment, Boris's ultimate power was finally fully unleashed. Though it seemed as if a long time had passed, in reality, it had all happened in an instant.
Now, Boris had transformed into a giant composed entirely of desert sands!
The giant raised its right hand, and the surrounding golden sands, as if responding to some invisible summons, began to converge frantically toward the massive arm. In mere moments, the sands coalesced into a long and razor-sharp spear!
At the spear's tip, Curse Divine Power swirled and gathered, its dark energy pulsating ominously. Simultaneously, a heavy, iron-blooded aura surged from Boris's body—he had activated the Law of Battle!
The three divine authorities and the accompanying Law melded together almost perfectly, with their combined power causing both his attack and destructive potential to rise exponentially.
Meanwhile, the swirling sand vortex that had been engulfing Sterl rapidly began to shrink. Within moments, Sterl's figure was revealed, standing in the center. Yet the force of confinement and control surrounding him hadn't weakened in the slightest. On the contrary, it had grown even stronger!
The gods within the temple watched this unfold with wide eyes, stunned by what they saw. Sterl remained in the exact same posture as before, motionless and unresponsive. It was as if his divine body had been completely bound and rendered helpless, unable to resist in any way.
"Such powerful Curse Divine Power... If Boris continues refining his abilities for a few more centuries, he might very well ascend to a high-ranking god!"
"To push Curse Divine Power to such an extreme, stripping an enemy of their energy so thoroughly... I also wield Curse Divine Authority, but the gap between us is enormous."
"What a pity. This Hades hasn't even had the chance to make a move before being utterly crushed by Boris."
"The disparity... it's just too vast. Even though they're both gods, the difference in the level of Divine Power and mastery of Law is undeniable."
Many of the gods couldn't help but sigh in amazement as they watched the scene unfold in the Temple Space.
Boris stood like a desert titan, majestic and invincible, while Hades appeared as nothing more than an ant, trapped and immobilized in the endless sands. It was as if an almighty god was about to deliver a devastating blow to a helpless mortal, leaving no hope for resistance.
This wasn't a battle between equals—it looked more like a high-ranking god utterly dominating a weak divine being.
Even the high-ranking deity shook their head, their disappointment evident. The outcome was clear. This Hades had been utterly underwhelming. For all his earlier bravado and strength, he was nothing more than a show-off with no substance—a silver spear with a wooden shaft.
In contrast, Boris had proven himself impressive. He was clearly worth cultivating further.
Once the battle concluded, it might be a good idea to let Boris take charge of the royal city. Such a gesture of goodwill toward a god who was on the brink of ascending to high-ranking divine authority might yield even greater returns in the future.
"Maybe I'll even throw in a surprise for him later," the high-ranking deity mused inwardly.
"No... this is impossible!"
Morette's eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at the scene unfolding before him.
