After Wang Yun returned to the villa, Xiao Fang had also acted quickly. He had procured thirty pounds of materials for the human skin masks that Wang Yun had requested. Though not a substantial amount, it was sufficient for their needs.

“Was the purchase noticed?” Wang Yun asked, concerned.

The program inspectors would undoubtedly be monitoring every store capable of selling such materials.

Xiao Fang shook his head confidently.

“No chance. I had friends purchase them in surrounding cities and then ship them here. We used express delivery, sending only small quantities at a time. The inspectors can’t possibly cover over a hundred delivery locations in Xiyun City. Plus, there are many rookie stations, if they staked out those, they’d have no time for anything else.”

Wang Yun nodded in approval at Xiao Fang’s explanation.

“Well done. Now, gather everyone.”

Following Wang Yun’s instructions, Xiao Fang brought the group together–twenty-six people in total.

Four of them were injured during the operation, their injuries not particularly severe but severe enough to prevent them from continuing.

Wang Yun surveyed the twenty-six people before him, his eyes brimming with a predatory gleam.

“Starting today, you will be stationed in ambush across various locations in Xiyun City. If you spot any inspectors, engage them immediately. Aim to keep a low profile, avoid cameras, and use these masks,” he instructed, handing out the disguises. “Set out as soon as you’re ready. This time, we are the hunters!”

Wang Yun concluded, his lips curling into a malevolent smile.

The group was charged up, each member infused with a surge of adrenaline, ready to spring into action.

Meanwhile, Wang Yun had also managed to rescue five of his former subordinates, who joined the ranks of the ambushers.

Despite their identities being compromised, they adopted a reckless attitude. After all, their mission was to launch surprise attacks on the program inspectors, confronting them head-on.

At the same moment, at the program inspection headquarters things became chaotic.

“What! The United States team has been wiped out? Only Everick is left?”

“It was Wang Yun. How did he manage that? Could it be that he’s rallied all his men?”

“That’s impossible. We’ve been rotating shifts these past few days, and the entire city of Xiyun has been under surveillance. It’s inconceivable that Wang Yun could have contacted all his subordinates in such a short time.”

Upon hearing the news of the United States’ annihilation, everyone in the program inspection headquarters was stunned and horrified.

Wu Mingyu entered with a USB drive in hand, his expression grave.

“What is this?” Wang Yue asked.

Ying Yuezi, with a frown, speculated, “If I’m not mistaken, this must be surveillance footage from when the United States team was taken down.”

Wu Mingyu nodded in confirmation.

“Let’s watch it first and then discuss.”

He inserted the USB into the computer. The footage was somewhat blurry, but it clearly showed four individuals battling the United States team.

Wang Yun’s figure wasn’t captured, because he had taken cover behind a stone pillar. It happened to be in a surveillance blind spot.

The entire footage lasted only three minutes. After the video ended, the room fell into dead silence. Even Ying Yuezi, who was usually stoic, was visibly shocked. She was so overwhelmed that she couldn’t find the words to express herself.

“It only took three minutes, just three minutes to completely annihilate the entire United States team,” Kolyev stuttered in disbelief.

The team from the United States was comprised entirely of elite program inspectors, each renowned for their rapid reflexes and tactical prowess.

Yet, in the video, they looked like headless mice, utterly terrorized by the enemy.

“Wang Yun has begun his counterattack,” Wang Yue said somberly.

Wu Yaoming nodded in agreement.

“We can’t just sit here and wait to be picked off. I have a feeling Wang Yun will only escalate his efforts. He’s going to be even more ruthless, and we need to come together now,” Wu Yaoming said.

Wu Mingyu quickly nodded in agreement. “Exactly, we need to unite and also make sure not to isolate anyone. If anything suspicious is noticed, retreat immediately and request support. We must ensure our survival first while aiming to bring Wang Yun to justice.”

Wu Mingyu’s words made everyone’s heart skip a beat.

They had been the eagles, and Wang Yun was the prey. But after changing the battlefield to a new city, the prey had shockingly reversed the roles.

“You seem to have overlooked something,” Ying Yuezi said gravely.

Everyone turned to her.

“If we were only trying to capture Wang Yun, being cautious around him would be enough. But the four individuals seen in the surveillance footage aren’t Wang Yun’s former subordinates,” she explained.

Everyone was startled by Ying Yuezi’s revelation and reviewed the footage once more.

“Yuezi is right, these aren’t the fugitives we know. Their physique and behavior are different. It’s something those fugitives don’t possess.”

“Could it be that these are just some of Wang Yun’s new recruits?” Kolyev suddenly felt uneasy.

Not only were Wang Yun’s seventy-plus fugitives still at large, but a new group had also appeared.

Firstly, this meant that the difficulty of their search had increased yet again. Secondly, the level of danger had intensified since the faces and builds of these new individuals were unfamiliar to them.

There was no way to be on guard. A seemingly random passerby might be one of Wang Yun’s subordinates, capable of firing at them without warning. That was the level of complication they were dealing with now.

Everyone now wore expressions of concern, feeling increasingly uneasy.

Wang Yun had continually forced them into a reactive position.

“Let’s consult with the team from India and see what the other countries suggest,” someone proposed. “Also, Everick is still alive, perhaps we can glean more information from him.”

With that, everyone exited the office.

Program inspectors from all participating countries were now aware of this development. Their thinking aligned with that of the team from China, as they all contemplated their next steps. The previous arrogance had faded from their faces, they all knew the United States’ capabilities.

The United States team was considered one of the strongest among the program inspectors, yet even they felt powerless and desperate when facing Wang Yun.

The image of Everick kneeling helplessly was etched deeply into everyone’s minds, haunting them like a nightmare. It felt as though they might be the next to kneel.

“Damn it, I’ll risk everything to kill Wang Yun,” one inspector vowed. “If not him, taking down his subordinates is worth it!”

“Have we figured out who those four were? We need to identify and investigate them immediately,” another demanded.

“Where’s Everick? Why isn’t he here?”

Panic and confusion reigned in the program inspection headquarters. Some shouted curses to try to steady their nerves, while others silently strategized their next move.

Of course, amidst the turmoil, some couldn’t help but feel a perverse relief. After all, one less inspection team meant one less competitor.
