Chapter 55: News
Chapter 55: News
Bea had a restless night, she was tormented by nightmares for some reason. She awoke multiple times, but every time Bea just looked to her left, where Sera was sleeping peacefully and she quickly calmed down.
'It must be because our relationship reached another level. It's messing with my mind somehow.'
The date was amazing, especially the end. The moans and screams of Sera still echoed in her ears and just remembering how she looked all spread out, brought a smile to her face.
'Next time she will pay it back!'
After sleeping for a long time both of them finally woke up. When Sera opened her eyes Bea was staring at her.
"Good morning... Love..."
Said Bea with a hint of red on her face, it was still weird to say it out loud. But Sera just smiled at her and kissed her. She whispered onto her mouth.
"Good morning, My Love."
They went silent, just enjoying each others presence. They stayed like that, until a knock came at the door.
"Who is it?" Asked Sera, still a bit sleepy.
"It's Faith, My Lady! You said to come to you, when I explored my new abilities!"
Sera turned toward Bea, then motioned her to get some clothes on, while she summoned her own. After a minute, Bea called.
"You can come in!"
Faith entered the room and she brought food with her.
"I thought you might be hungry after last nights sex, so I took the liberty and brought you some food, My Ladies!"
There wasn't even a hint of embarrassement in her voice. Sera and Bea were both stunned by what she said, then they thought back to last night and they both blushed.
'Well I don't know what we expected, the walls aren't soundproof.'
Bea regained her wits sooner and said.
"Uhm... Thank you for the food, but we should talk about your powers first."
"As you wish, My Lady!" Faith then proceeded to explain everything, that she learned.
Sera and Bea both listened carefully, and in the end they both realized her potential as a scout or spy.
"This is very good! You can even stay in my shadow to move wherever I move, well of course if you want to." Said Sera.
Faith's eyes lit up like burning coals. 'Seems like this is what she wanted as well.' Thought Bea and held in her laughter.
Faith was about to answer when she convulsed once. Then she looked at the both of them and the person behind her eyes was someone else. The girl has returned.
"Hello again." Greeted Sera. While Bea just nodded at her.
"Saint Seraphine, Saint Bea. I'm sorry I didn't come sooner. Nightmare got especially angry when you arrived at the bunker and decided to torture me for a long time. Good job by the way."
"We... we are sorry..." Sera couldn't even finish the sentence.
'How... how can an 8 year old speak about torture so casually?'
"Don't worry about it! But you should hurry up the rescue plan. Something is about to happen here. Nightmare is planning to do something that will lead to the death of most slaves."
Sera and Bea both looked at each other, then they nodded and turned back toward the girl.
"The rescue plan is impossible if we don't learn more about The Hold. We need to know its defenses, the patrols, how many fighters they have and who are the current strongest. Most of our data is months old." Said Bea.
Sera continued. "But we have a plan. The woman you are currently possesing can remember everything you say. Which means you can communicate with her easily. She also just became an Evolved with powers related to stealth and scouting."
The girl tilted her head and asked. "You want to send her in to learn as much as possible? And want me to help her along the way?"
The girl had a thoughtful expression but eventually she nodded. "That could work, but she has to make sure not to fall asleep near The Hold. If she does, then she will be in Nightmare's hands, which is basically a death sentence."
Neither of them showed even a hint of surprise, they knew most of Nightmare's powers already.
"Okay, but we still have to ask Faith, if she is willing to do it." Said Sera with concern.
Both Bea and the girl nodded. Then the girl left and Faith came to her senses.
"So Faith, are you willing to do this infiltration mission?"
"My Lady, of course I want to do it... but if I get into trouble there or on the way to The Hold... I don't know how to fight with weapons other than guns..."
She looked away embarrassed. Bea thought for a bit and asked.
"You can make any weapon from your shadow can't you?" Faith nodded and Bea continued. "Then what weapon would you like to use?"
Faith said without hesitation. "A sword probably."
Again Bea became thoughtful and looked Faith up and down a couple of times.
'Considering her abilities, longsword wouldn't be the best choice. Other weapons could work, like daggers. Maybe she could even throw them, but lets stay focused on the sword. Greatsword? No. Broad or short?
No. Maybe a katana or odachi? No. Rapier? Yes, that's it!'
"Okay, I will train you with the sword but it will be a rapier. With your stealth abilities, a slender blade for quick thrusts will serve better than a slashing weapon."
Faith looked like she would jump out of her skin from excitement.
"Of course, My Lady! When do we start?" She asked trying to hide the smile on her face.
Sera answered with a smile of her own. "You can go and train after we eat."
"Yes, Saint Seraphine! I will wait in the training hall!"
With that she left the two of them. After leaving the smile from Sera's and Bea's face disappeared instantly. Sera spoke first.
"What do you think?" Her anger was well hidden, but still there.
"We can't do this slowly anymore. After the infiltration mission is done we have to make a plan for the rescue, and the destruction of anyone who sided with Nightmare!"
Bea's anger wasn't contained at all. But Sera took her hand, it was cold. Then whispered to her.
"There's going to be no mercy! But this is war, don't get angry, that will only make you lose your rationality. Vengence is best served cold."
Bea's temper decreased and a wicked smile took its place.
"You are correct and know exactly what I want! How considerate! Anyway lets eat the food before it gets any colder."
They both sat down and enjoyed their meal. They talked and laughed throughout it. Maybe because they knew, that happiness will be absent in the next couple of weeks. The war is about to truly begin.
