Chapter 1445: Lu Ruyan

These words caused the rest of the squads to frown. This lady had come walking in with an imposing manner, and it was clear she had no good intentions. And worst of all, it was all directed towards Lu Qing'er.

Lu Qing'er's beautiful eyes were overflowing with frostiness as she glared at the lady. "Lu Ruyan, what do my actions have to do with you?"

As Li Luo had guessed, it was none other than Lu Ruyan. 

When Lu Ruyan heard her words, she pouted and gave a smile. "You've lost all your manners ever since you returned from that desolate divine continent. Shouldn't you at least greet your older sister?"

She then swept her eyes over the squad from the Astral Sage College. "I just don't understand why you willingly gave up the squad your father arranged for you and chose this shabby one from an outer divine continent. Do you think such a squad can protect you? Or could it be that you've lost all hope and are choosing to indulge in self-destructive behaviour?"

Lu Qing'er's gaze turned even colder, but she couldn't be bothered to retort. 

"Ahem." At this point, Li Luo lightly cleared his throat, breaking the tension. "Hello, elder sister. Could you please not demean the squads from the outer divine continents? We are trying our best here."

Lu Ruyan's charming face morphed into a cold smile and she glared at Li Luo. "Who are you calling ‘elder sister?’" 

Li Luo paused. "Isn't calling you an aunty inappropriate?"

"You!" Lu Ruyan's gaze turned chilly. This brat was pretty handsome, but his words were coarse, giving rise to her annoyance.  

"I know you. You must be Li Luo from the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li. You were the one that ruined my affairs in the Spiritual Resonance Cave." Lu Ruyan smiled coldly when she identified him.

"The reason why Lu Qing'er is in the outer divine continent's squad must be because of you, yes? Let me warn you. This is a Golden Dragon Mountain matter, and you shouldn't poke your nose where it doesn't belong. Not even the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li would want to offend Golden Dragon Mountain."

Li Luo smiled and shook his head. "I can't do that. This is my good friend, and if she's in trouble, I must assist."

Lu Qing'er calmly glanced at him. "Lu Ruyan, there's no need to bicker here. The battle between us will be settled during the Celestial Mirror Martial Exchange."

Lu Ruyan looked at her playfully and chuckled. "Little sister Qing'er, I don't see how you can have the confidence to say such brave words when you’re merely a first-grade Duke. This isn't Golden Dragon Mountain. Or could it be that you're planning to rely on him?"

She then glanced at Li Luo. Spiritual lights flew out of her, transforming into six towering Duke Bergfrieds that stood tall in the sky. Roiling energy undulations emanated from them, enveloping the group from the Astral Sage College. Out of the six, the one in the middle was particularly dazzling as it had ten golden pillars! It was a Ten-Pillar Golden Duke Bergfried! Lu Ruyan wasn't just a sixth-grade Duke, she actually had a single Ten-Pillar Golden Duke Bergfried. This foundation was appropriate for a peak genius of Golden Dragon Mountain. 

"That's Golden Dragon Mountain's Lu Ruyan!"

"Hehe, she's such an alluring beauty. She is also one of the Eighteen Heroes and is a popular candidate for the Celestial Mirror Martial Exchange."

"She might just be a sixth-grade Duke, but with the aid of the Ten-Pillar Golden Duke Bergfried, she's a match for even seventh-grade Dukes! This can be considered top-tier strength."

"It's no wonder she's part of the Eighteen Heroes."

Many eyes were cast in their direction and an uproar ensued. It was clear that Lu Ruyan had a great reputation in the Celestial Mirror Pagoda.

When faced with the boundless pressure released from Lu Ruyan, Cao Sheng and the other two mentors were forced backwards. Meanwhile, Li Luo frowned, and two spiritual lights shot into the sky from his body, transforming into two Ten-Pillar Golden Duke Bergfrieds. They emanated the aura of perfection and completion, devouring all of the worldly natural energy around them.

At the same time, Li Luo took a step forward, resisting the sea of pressure, and stood before Lu Qing'er. Lu Ruyan was ultimately much stronger than Lu Qing'er.

Li Luo's two Ten-Pillar Golden Duke Bergfrieds became the new center of attention.

"Oh! Two Ten-Pillar Golden Duke Bergfrieds?!"

"That brat actually has two? Where is he from?" 

"Isn't this the outer divine continents’ territory? How could someone like him be there?"  

"It's a good thing he's just a second-grade Transcendent. Otherwise, he would also be worthy of the title of one of the Eighteen Heroes."

The numerous powers were taken aback at this sight. After all, it was extremely rare to see a genius with two such Duke Bergfrieds, even in the Celestial Mirror Pagoda. 

"Second-grade Transcendent? Is this the reason why Lu Qing'er has come to find you?"

Lu Ruyan's alluring eyes squinted. "Perhaps if you were a third-grade Transcendent, I might have felt some fear. However, a second-grade isn't enough right now."

The six Duke Bergfrieds above her began to roar, causing the void to shake as they swallowed up copious amounts of worldly natural energy, forming an indescribable pressure.

With this sort of forceful suppression, the energy undulations coming from Li Luo's Ten-Pillar Golden Duke Bergfried were gradually being contained and forced back.

It was at this point that Guo Jiufeng gloomily spoke up. "Greetings, friend. This is the gathering point of the East Divine Continent's sage colleges. I'd kindly like to ask you to take a step back." 

Li Luo and the rest of them were representatives of the Astral Sage College, and now that all of the East Divine Continent's sage colleges had gathered here, Lu Ruyan's domineering actions were simply a slap to their face. 

After which, he summoned up the six Duke Bergfrieds he had and assisted Li Luo in sharing the burden.

However, just as he took action, a Duke stepped up from behind Lu Ruyan. Several Duke Bergfrieds manifested, and the fellow demonstrated power no weaker than Guo Jiufeng’s.

"Hmph. This matter concerns Golden Dragon Mountain. Do the sage colleges of the East Divine Continent wish to interfere?" The Duke shot an unkind glare towards Guo Jiufeng and the rest. Hearing the name “Golden Dragon Mountain” caused the three vice principals to pause and fear to appear in their eyes. They understood just how grand the opponent was.

For a moment, none of them dared to move.

Meanwhile, Lu Ruyan had never even looked in the direction of these individuals from start to end. In her eyes, the vice principals of mere outer divine continent sage colleges were not even worth her attention. She looked at Li Luo with a sweet smile. "Li Luo, you are a smart person. Lu Qing'er is not worth your support. If you agree to not interfere, you'll gain my friendship. Otherwise..."

Li Luo sighed helplessly, and the thunder tattoo on the back of his hand flashed, transforming into the Dragon Elephant Thunder Blade.

Bang!

But right at that moment, a bright light bloomed throughout the skies and a torrent of sacred flames poured down from the heavens, capable of purifying everything. It blasted straight towards Lu Ruyan! This sudden and vicious attack caused Lu Ruyan's smile to freeze. Even she felt a hint of danger coming from the unexpected attack.

She didn't dare to tarry—the six Duke Bergfrieds above her rumbled to life, pouring out incredible amounts of Divine Mist. At the same time, a frigid air that chilled one to the bone directly clashed with the incoming flames. 

Bang!

Wild energy shockwaves propagated in every direction and the void shook. Many Dukes in the vicinity were forced to retreat to prevent themselves from being caught up in the blast. 

Under the gazes of numerous individuals, the sacred flames showed a terrifying purification power that completely disintegrated Lu Ruyan's icy resonant power.

In the end, Lu Ruyan's saccharine smile was forced to vanish completely. Her fingers were bent together, forming a seal as endless amounts of frigid energy condensed into an icy sword. She swung her sword downwards, causing the void to freeze in its wake, and finally managed to dissolve the radiant sacred flames.

That said, Lu Ruyan's pretty face was no longer as charming before. Then a beautiful figure descended from the skies. Behind her were three Ten-Pillar Golden Duke Bergfrieds that were as bright as the sun. 

Lu Ruyan immediately recognized her and clenched her teeth. "Jiang Qing'e!"

Before everyone's stunned eyes, the gorgeous figure strode through the light, appearing above their greenwood platform. Her gorgeous, golden eyes, which seemed to contain immeasurable mysteries and depth, calmly looked at Lu Ruyan. 

A biting voice rang out.

"Is your friendship such a rare commodity?"
