Archer skidded to a halt just before the rest of the group, pain coursing through his body. As he struggled to catch his breath, a single thought echoed in his mind, 'Ah, damn it! I bit off more than I could chew.'
As the moment unfolded, the Pseudo-God approached, his wicked grin stretching wider. But before he could react, Ari leaned down, her gaze soft yet intense. She cupped his cheek gently, her voice low but filled with praise. "You did well, husband. Especially for someone at my level."
"I just need to get even stronger than this won't be an issue, beautiful," he replied with a chuckle.
Following that, Ari vanished and appeared in front of the shocked enemy, but the older woman quickly hit him with a Mana Blast. The sudden attack sent him crashing across the ground.
The man slammed into a nearby hill. Archer smiled while standing up as he turned to Vivi and his friends, who were watching the scene with weird eyes. He approached Lioran before commenting, "I told you not to leave Draconia because of this exact situation, you stupid
cat."
"Shut up you," the lion man replied while shaking his head. "We had to rescue people, and we achieved our goal. Could you help us transport them to the kingdom?"
His eyebrow rose in amusement before answering his friend. "Okay, take me to your camp and I'll open a Gate to Draconia."
Lioran got excited and hugged him, which made the surrounding women laugh as it was clear Archer was expecting close contact, especially Vivienne, who enjoyed seeing his awkward expression.
"Get off me Leo, you smell like a wet cat," he said while pushing his friend away from him.
The lion man started laughing as he wrapped his arm around his shoulder before speaking, "It's good to see you brother, we need to spend some time together. It's been years and I'm afraid you've forgotten about your oldest friend."
Following that, Vivienne approached them with a warm smile as she spoke, "Husband, I have to go tend to the colony. Will you come to see me soon? I miss you."
Archer nodded before grabbing the ant queen by the waist and pulling her close as he spoke into her ear, "I will surprise you when I come Vivi, I'm sure you'll love it."
When the older woman heard this, her red eyes shimmered with warmth and affection. She smiled, her voice rich with a teasing tone. "I look forward to it, handsome. Be sure to visit me," she said.
He opened a portal back to the Domain, where Vivi and the Nightmare Ants rushed through it, leaving him alone with the shocked group. Cian and Alaric approached with excited expressions as the two young men greeted.
The orange-haired Cian wrapped his arms around him in a warm hug, though not as tightly as Lioran had. He pulled back slightly, a smile on his face as he spoke. "Thanks for coming to help us, brother. I'm glad that cat had your Dragon Orb."
"You're welcome Cian, that's what friends are for," Archer replied as he turned to the brown- haired young man with an amused expression before asking. "Alaric, you look like you've seen a ghost. You're not scared of me, are you?"
The wood elf shook his head, a skeptical look crossing his face as he asked, "I've seen your new woman, and she looked to be an older woman. You're not planning to steal my mother, are you?"
Archer gave him an annoyed look as if the question were the height of nonsense. "No, you paranoid elf. I've got enough women in my life, and even more, I need to reconnect with them. Your mother is safe. I love Llyniel too much to hurt her like that."
Alaric visibly relaxed, causing him to sigh as he turned to the other two, "Do you guys think I'm going to steal your mother's?"
Lioran shook his head with a confident expression, "Not mine. She loves our father and I know you don't go after married women apart from Fianna, but then there's my grandmother, Malakia. She is a strange woman who hasn't had a husband since my grandfather, but will love you after fighting," he said with a chuckle.
Archer looked at his friend with a curious expression, "I know, Nala keeps convincing me to make a move on her when we meet but at the moment she thinks I'm the Demon King and joined the Alliance."
When the lion prince heard this, he frowned before agreeing with a nod. "I know, it's a shame because you two are strangely similar in a lot of ways."
Following that, Leonora shouted at the group, "Come on, ladies! Stop gossiping like a bunch of girls, and let's get back to the survivors."
Archer and the others laughed, following behind the women as Ari effortlessly tossed the Pseudo-God around like a rag doll. As she continued her display of power, Archer activated Blink, reappearing beside the Elemental woman.
She turned to him, a bright smile on her face as she held the bloodied man in her arms. "Are you okay, husband?" she asked, her tone light despite the chaos. "I'm nearly done with this
bug."
"Can you immobilize him? I want to give this idiot to the necromancer sisters to experiment on," he replied with an evil twinkle in his eyes.
When the human heard this, he shivered, but Ari quickly answered, "Yes. I can implant a spell into his brain to trigger if he tries to attack anyone. That should keep him in line."
Archer chuckled before nodding, "Do it and deliver it to Morena. She will drag him to the prison."
The Elemental woman replied with a smile, "Yes, darling. It was good seeing you, but I want some alone time soon."
"How about tomorrow?" he questioned.
Ari nodded in agreement before vanishing into the Doman while carrying the Pseudo God who stopped fighting against her grip. Once she was gone, he caught up with the others, who were waiting outside a primal forest.
'What is it with these places, its getting annoying now,' he thought.
Lioran commented as he got close, "Stay close Arch, this place is creepy and easy to get lost in."
Following that, Archer and the group entered, only to realize the place was covered in a layer of fog. He could still see and sense everything around them as Nalika commented from the front, "Be careful everyone, we just need to find the cave."'
Archer and the group moved cautiously through the dense, fog-covered primal forest. The air was thick with moisture, and the towering trees loomed like ancient guardians, their gnarled branches twisting into eerie shapes.
The damp earth muffled every step, and the fog swirled around them, obscuring their path and shrouding the forest. Distant growls or rustle of leaves kept everyone on edge, their
senses heightened.
'I wonder what monsters are lurking in this place,' he pondered while glancing around. Alaric and Tarial led the way, his keen eyes scanning the shadows for threats. Behind him, the others followed closely, their weapons ready, as the oppressive atmosphere seemed to press
in on all sides.
Archer continued walking but pulled out a burger and started eating, which made the others give him a surprised expression. This caused him to laugh as Lioran commented, "Still the same, always eating whenever the chance allows."
He chuckled before agreeing with a nod. "Yes, you know I love food. The girls cook some delicious meals that I've missed."
Lioran started laughing, but the women quickly silenced him, which made everyone laugh as they continued walking. An hour later, the group appeared at the base of a mountain that
pierced the sky.
'How did they find this place?' he mused while scanning their surroundings. 'There're no monsters nearby, so it seems safe enough.'
Alaric turned to them before ushering them into the cave as he spoke, "Get inside, a Monster
Wave is coming."
When Archer heard this, he approached the wood elf with a curious expression. "How do you know that Alaric?" he questioned.
"The birds, they informed me that the monsters are coming from the east, and they're heading straight for us," his friend answered as Cian and Lioran entered.
Archer stepped inside, followed by Alaric, who cast a nature spell that covered the entrance with a stone wall, before letting out a sigh of relief. "This should hide us for now. A mana
storm had just hit us."
He looked up and closed his eyes, only to sense the raging mana cutting off his teleportation for a while. 'Fuck, at least I can wait here and help with the injured while getting to know Apollonia,'
The thought with a chuckle.
Following that, the group got deeper until arrived at a massive chamber lit up by torches with hundreds of people resting or injured being tended to. Archer quickly cast Aurora Healing and
Cleanse on everything.
