Reincarnated As The Villainess's Son

Chapter 294 Nymeria [2]

Chapter 294 Nymeria [2]

Chapter 294  Nymeria [2]

'The fuck is happening now?' I groaned, leaning back on the chair, staring at the office ceiling.

Why is Cecily dating that fucker?

This doesn't make any sense.

'No, that's not the problem.' The real problem is that Cecily is already too far gone.

The moment the trigger event happens, she'll turn into the Villainess—the kind who'll burn the world down for Killian.

'Elijah said they started dating last year.' Apparently, during that school trip to Lumina, they were ambushed by the Demiurge.

Killian saved Cecily, risking his life in the process.

Afterward, she confessed, and they started dating.

'But nothing like that happened in the game.' I frowned, rubbing my temples, exhaustion creeping into every corner of my mind.

There's a memory—something Christina mentioned once—about the elves' deteriorating conditions.

Maybe this event was somehow tied to that.

'This is so tiring.' Well, at least I know Uzume Highbloods have a higher chance of facing total annihilation.

"This is... fascinating," Mariam muttered, snapping me out of my thoughts.

She held the pages I'd written—the ones with answers to Lirien's questions.

"Are those answers correct?" I asked in confirmation, looking at her.

"I won't say correct," she mumbled, placing the pages down. "But they sure are thought-provoking."

"Good," I replied, reaching out. "Now hand them back."

She glanced at me, reluctant. "Can I keep them for—"

"Nope." I snatched them out of her grasp. "Not sharing."

She looked regretful but just nodded, respecting my choice.

"Anyway, will this theory work?" I asked, leaning back in the chair. "Combining mana and Ruah?"

"I can't say for sure." She shook her head. "In theory, it sounds plausible. But practically? Almost impossible."

"What are the problems you see in it?" I asked, nodding.

She raised a finger, and the space beside her rippled as a tree branch materialized from thin air.

"Ruah and mana are fundamentally different," she explained, the branch lightly patting my head. "If you want to merge them, you'll need a medium."

I slapped the branch away. "And what kind of medium are we talking about?"

"I don't know." She replied, retracting the branch. "In fact, no one knows about it—not even the first head of Segyal Highbloods."

I groaned, rubbing my eyes as I didn't get my desired answer.

Segyal's first head did conduct some research on it, but he wasn't successful.

Even in his research, he couldn't find anything that can merge both of them.

'A medium, huh?' I thought, letting out a tired sigh.

This will be a lot more problematic than I thought.

Sitting back, I placed my hand on the desk as I stared at Mariam.

"What?" she asked.

"I met Nymeria," I said bluntly.

Her expression instantly hardened. "She threatened you, didn't she?"

I nodded.

Mariam let out a tired sigh, her expression turned sad as if she had aged a few years.

I gave a short, bitter laugh. "She told me to 'take care of Segyal Highbloods.' Then said she'd take it back."

"....."

She fell silent, staring at her desk.

I did not disturb her as I leaned back.

"You know," she began after a while, her voice wistful, "Nymeria is special. So special that the World Tree itself blessed her at birth."

"...."

I quietly nodded, letting her continue.

There are so many things different from the game that every little piece of information is welcome.

"My husband and Nymeria's grandfather, Hazar, were like brothers," she mumbled with a sad smile.

"With Nymeria's birth, they thought that elves would once again be the strongest after the reign of the first Segyal head."

'But nothing like that happened.' Segyal Highbloods was massacred...

...And Ragnar killed Hazar—his own master.

"How strong is she?" I asked as Mariam kept her silence for a long while.

"She condensed her mana years ago," she replied, coming out of her daze. "I don't know how strong she is now."

I nodded my head in response.

Condensing mana is the condition for reaching the Overlord rank.

And Limiter—my current rank—is the best time for it.

From what I know, Nymeria is high Overlord, if not peak Overlord.

And that's her base rank.

I have no idea how strong she is in Anastasia's Avatar form.

'She is a tricky one,' I thought as I stood up from my seat.

"Where are you going?" Mariam asked as I walked towards the door.

"Do I need to tell you that?" I asked, glancing over my shoulder. "Classes are already over."

She gave me a subtle nod, mumbling, "Fine, but be careful about Gerald Highbloods."

"I know," I replied, glancing back at her. "I need to be careful of every elf."

Including you.

"I will protect you if necessary," she assured me with a gentle smile. "So don't be on edge and enjoy your life—"

I slammed the door of her office as I walked out, ignoring her words.

She really wants me dead in two years, doesn't she? Cursing my bad luck, I swiftly made my way out of the headmaster's building.

The classes have already ended for today, and my first day in the academy wasn't the best.

'Well, at least I wasn't ganged up by a group of randoms.' That's a relief.

But if there's anything that I want to complain about, it's my mana-overdosed body.

I really hate the feeling of my body getting molested by mana every time it's depleted.

[<Language>]

'That's exactly what's happening though.' I groaned at her words.

Every time I lose even a sliver of mana, the surrounding mana rushes in to refill it, overwhelming my body.

Even with the filter handcuffs, it's too much for my body to handle.

'I need a solution, and fast.' It's funny how in just over a year, my problem had turned from mana deprivation to mana overdose.

It's so fucked up that I can't even train properly.

'Why are you stupid, Inna?' I grumbled as I reached the tube elevator.

[<Why are you targeting me?>]

She replied, and I could imagine her pouting.

'How can you be so old and still not know much about runes?' [<I am warning you, Qais, if you make fun of my age one more time, then I will never talk with you.>]

'Okay, geez, you are so sensitive about your age.' [<Every girl is!>]

'But you are not a girl—' I bit my tongue midway.

[<...Were you saying something?>]

Her anger-filled voice echoed in my head.

'Nothing.' I replied, walking inside as the door of the elevator opened up.

[<Where are you going?>]

'To meet someone who more knowledge about the runes than you.' *******

There are a total of eight buildings out of thirty-four buildings of the academy that are dedicated to the teaching staff.

Each one of them is huge, containing every facility a professor needs for their research—state-of-the-art facilities, private libraries, and experimental labs.

They have everything.

Despite having a lot of advancements in technology, there are always things that aren't discovered.

And those who want to leave their name in history always try to discover new things.

Knock! Knock!

I knocked twice in front of a professor's office before I took a step back.

In just a few seconds, the door opened up, and a head peeked out.

"Hello, Aunt," I said, waving my hand towards the black-haired woman.

"Himmel?" Aunt Hannah's dark eyes blinked in surprise as she opened the door wider. "What are you doing here?"

"Um, is Professor Yenna—effer here?" I asked with a polite smile.

Hannah looked at me weirdly before she moved aside. "Come in."

I smiled, walking inside.

"Where is Aimar?" she questioned, closing the door behind her.

"With Elijah," I replied as she walked beside me.

"You seem familiar with him and me," she said, narrowing her eyes. "Do I know you?"

Right, she doesn't know I am Azariah.

"I know Aimar from back in Lumina," I replied, keeping the same smile. "We aren't the bestest friends, but he does tell me about his family."

"...I see," she mumbled. "You do seem familiar."

I simply smiled.

She might suspect, but she couldn't confirm anything unless I outright told her.

There isn't any record of me being a person anyway.

My mother had erased everything about my existence.

"Hannah."

A familiar voice echoed within the place, making me look forward.

Yennefer's office was enormous—easily twice the size of a lecture hall.

Runes and intricate diagrams were scrawled across the walls, glowing faintly under dim light.

Long tables were covered in organized chaos: papers stacked high, scattered vials, faint scorch marks, and half-finished projects.

"Coming," Hannah said as she rushed towards Yennefer.

I looked at Yennefer curiously, making a complex rune on a large sheet of paper.

"A marker," Yennefer said, extending her hand.

"Here," Hannah passed the marker to her as she remained engrossed in her work.

She didn't even glance at me, even though I stood close.

Hannah looked at me apologetically, but I just smiled.

I already know Yennefer takes her work seriously.

With her busy, I started to wander around the room.

The place was a heaven for me, who had ancient knowledge about runes from El.

I can try to match my knowledge with the current time.

Time passed, and before I knew it, I'd settled into a corner, flipping through a book.

SLAM!!

The door slammed open, startling me.

"Mummmmmy!"

A girl with her hair tied in twin buns walked inside, rushing towards Yennefer.

Yennefer quickly stopped whatever she was doing as she smiled towards the girl.

"What happened to my baby?" she asked, embracing Zenith in her arms.

"A bad day," Zenith mumbled, resting her head on her mother's chest. "A very bad guy joined my class."

"Oh," Yennefer said, glancing at me.

She had already noticed my presence, but Zenith hadn't.

"Hello, Aunt Hannah," she said without looking, waving absently in her direction.

Hannah just chuckled and shook her head.

"Is he the boy who tried to propose to me today?" Yennefer asked, taking a seat on a chair and making her daughter sit on her lap.

"Yeah, him," Zenith exclaimed, getting comfortable. "I feel like strangling him."

Yennefer chuckled softly. "He isn't that bad, is he?"

"He is," she said without raising her head. "You don't know how infuriating it is to be around him."

Yennefer gently patted her daughter as she whispered, "Well, I don't think he is bad. Maybe he is lost."

"He also tried to start a fight with Killian," Zenith grumbled. "Even though Killian was just trying to help me."

"Oh, I am sorry for being an asshole."

Unable to bear her complaints, I said out loud, standing up.

The girl flinched in her mother's arms before her head snapped towards me.

"What are you doing here?" she asked, furiously pointing at me.

"I can go wherever I want," I replied, shrugging. "It's my academy, not yours."

"But this is my mother's office," she replied sharply. "Get out."

"I won't," I replied. "And how old are you? Sitting on her lap like a child?"

"What do you know—"

"Okay, enough, you guys," Yennefer quickly interrupted. "Stop fighting."

"Get down," I repeated, glaring at her.

Zenith glared back before wrapping her hand around her mother's neck.

[<Are you jealous?>]

Inna asked, taking me by surprise.

'Why would I be jealous of anything?' I replied, shrugging.

[<...I see.>]

Yennefer sighed as she stood up, and Zenith, having no other choice, had to get separated from her.

She turned towards me. "How can I help you, Himmel?"

I sighed and started rolling my sleeves.

Yennefer looked at my hand curiously as I willed the runes in my hands to intake mana.

They did, and my hand glowed in a silverish hue.

Yennefer's eyes widened instantly as she mumbled, "Runes."

"Um, it's kinda complicated to explain," I said with an awkward smile. "...But can you help me?"

Yennefer's face turned serious. "Hannah, Zenith—out. Now."

Her sudden shift in tone made both of them pause, but they complied without question.

Once the door shut behind them, Yennefer's ember eyes returned to me.

"And you," she said, her voice leaving no room for argument, "take off your shirt."
