Chapter 662: Chapter 662 - Elemental Rune Cataclysm
?
Frostedge glided across the desert, a thin sheet of ice forming beneath his feet as he skated with effortless grace. And this guy-seriously-this guy was skating like an Olympic athlete, weaving and maneuvering with unbelievable agility.
He closed in quickly on his two targets: the archer skeleton and the mage skeleton. The moment they noticed him, both locked onto him with precision.
The mage skeleton unleashed a volley of magic missiles, while the archer skeleton moved with unnerving speed. Despite being nothing more than a collection of bones held together by a mass of shadow and green energy, the skeleton moved with the grace and agility of a living being!
Frostedge swung his sword repeatedly, conjuring discs of ice in midair with rapid precision. The icy shields blocked each projectile as he advanced, his movements fluid and calculated. This magic sword fighter wasn't just fast-he was blindingly fast. He closed the distance to the mage skeleton in moments, his blade flashing as he executed a powerful slash. A massive ice formation erupted around the mage skeleton, rising like jagged spires to entrap it in a frozen prison.
But the mage skeleton didn't go down without resistance. It radiated a violent burst of energy, cracking the ice that encased it, refusing to be subdued.
Meanwhile, the archer skeleton charged its bow with a glowing green arrow. The pull was so intense that the skeleton itself recoiled from the tension of the string. The arrow fired with a deafening snap, rocketing toward Frostedge.
It was a direct hit-
—until, in an instant, walls of ice sprang up behind Frostedge, forming layers of protective barriers. The projectile struck one of the walls with a loud crack, shattering it but failing to reach its target.
Frostedge didn't even look back to see where the protection had come from. His focus remained locked on the mage skeleton.
With a brilliant glow, his sword began to radiate light and ice energy. He moved with lightning speed, executing a precise, devastating slash. The ice shattered in a blinding explosion, and the mage skeleton's form splintered into pieces, its bones scattering across the battlefield.
But... the pieces of bone surged unnaturally through the air, reforming in mere seconds into a complete skeleton once more.
Damn it!
If a player had been hit with that kind of attack, they would've been dead on the spot. But this was no ordinary enemy.
Everyone watching through the live stream-held their breath.
[Syrestage]: "THOSE SKELETONS MOVE BETTER THAN I DO AFTER LEG DAY!"
[Ryan_Houtz]: "Those ice walls showed up like, 'Don't worry, Frostedge, we got your back...'
"
[hellfire99903]: "I literally stopped breathing when that arrow was fired. Frostedge is out here giving me a heart attack for free!"
[Kody_Decker]: "The way the ice shattered, the mage reformed, and Frostedge just stood there ready to go again-THIS IS CINEMA."
Gravestone Greatsword.
Broken had made his choice. To face these three towering skeletal warriors, each with immense strength and impenetrable defenses, this weapon was his best option.
This fight wouldn't end quickly-Broken was as durable as they came, but so were his opponents.
One skeleton wielded a massive shield and greatsword, another held a gigantic greatsword, and the last carried a colossal battle axe. The word massive perfectly described them, as they loomed over Broken like giants, making him feel like a mere child in their shadow.
Without hesitation, Broken launched himself at the trio, his movement bold and calculated. Hell! He had faith in his Invincible Paragon armor set and the arsenal of defensive skills he had acquired.
He could withstand their blows-but he had no intention of letting their attacks land without a fight.
Broken charged the Sword Skeleton, his Gravestone Greatsword raised high. When their weapons met, the clash was thunderous, sending sparks and echoes across the battlefield.
The greatsword's conditional passive skill, Durability Drainer, activated, steadily sapping the durability of his opponent's weapon with each clash. While Broken wasn't sure if the skeletons' weapons were bound by the same rules as player-crafted items, there would surely be some penalty to their effectiveness over time.
But there was no time to ponder.
The Axe Skeleton lunged next, its massive weapon sweeping through the air with incredible speed and power. Its movements were brutal and relentless, each strike capable of cleaving through most defenses.
Broken maneuvered deftly, his greatsword meeting the axe head-on as he parried. With each clash, the runes etched into the blade of the Gravestone Greatsword began to glow faintly, steadily charging.
"Damn it!" Broken growled as the force of the axe's blow sent him skidding backward.
Before he could recover, the Sword Skeleton was already closing in from behind. Its glowing blade arced toward him in a deadly swing.
Broken dashed forward, dragging the tip of his greatsword across the ground, creating a trail of dust and sparks as he pivoted toward the Shield Skeleton. With a mighty swing, he aimed directly at its shield.
Clang!
The blow was intercepted, the shield absorbing the brunt of the strike with an almost mocking ease. The Shield Skeleton retaliated instantly, bashing Broken backward with its shield before switching to a sweeping sword strike.
Broken raised his greatsword vertically just in time, executing another parry. The collision was enough to send him hurtling backward again, his boots digging into the ground to stabilize himself.
These summons weren't just tough-they were ridiculously strong. Their attacks were merciless, built for raw Strength and Constitution.
They were tanks in every sense of the word, their build making them highly resistant to physical attacks.
They'd be much easier to deal with if I had skills that ignore defense-or even better, magic damage.
The 12 runes on his Gravestone Greatsword glowed brightly, signaling that they were fully charged. A faint smile crept across his face.
With a burst of speed, Broken activated his Dash, propelling himself away from the three Elite Skeleton Warriors. The distance gave him just enough room to set up for what was coming
next.
The skeletal warriors weren't going to let him escape easily.
The Axe Skeleton charged forward, its colossal axe swinging wildly, carving through the air with an audible whoosh. Its bulky frame moved surprisingly fast, each step shaking the
ground beneath it.
The Greatsword Skeleton followed close behind, its massive blade resting on its shoulder as it sprinted toward Broken with intimidating power.
The Shield Skeleton wasn't far behind, its shield raised in a defensive position as it barreled forward like an unstoppable force, ready to crush anything in its path.
Broken glanced back, the glow of his greatsword intensifying. The timing was perfect.
It was time.
[Sacrificial Edge (Conditional Active Skill) activated.]
[Sacrifices 5% of the greatsword's durability to increase the next attack's damage by 1000%.]
[Elemental Rune Cataclysm (Conditional Active Skill) activated.]
[Releases the power of up to 12 runes in a massive elemental explosion.
Each activated rune deals 500% base physical damage as elemental damage to all nearby
enemies.
Elemental Overload: If 4 or more runes of the same element are activated, deals an additional
500% elemental damage over time.]
Just as the three skeletons closed in, their massive forms bearing down on him, Broken
activated his ultimate skill.
The runes on his Gravestone Greatsword flared brilliantly, one by one, before extinguishing in rapid succession. A dark, violent energy-swirling with hues of black and green-erupted
from the blade, wrapping around it like a storm unleashed.
In the next instant, waves of energy blasted out from the greatsword, each one surging forward with relentless speed and force.
BBBB-BAM! BBB-BAM BAM!
The cascading explosions came in rapid succession, each impact louder and more violent than
the last.
The ground trembled under the sheer power of the attack, the air filled with deafening cracks and booms. The energy waves ripped through the area, consuming everything in their path. From the haze of the chaotic energy, massive forms were thrown clear of the destruction. The Greatsword Skeleton's weapon flew from its grip, spinning wildly through the air before crashing into the ground.
The Axe Skeleton was sent hurtling backward, its colossal weapon flung high, tumbling end over end before embedding itself in the sand far away.
The Shield Skeleton's imposing form staggered, its shield dented and battered.
[Qschmee]: "That attack was so loud, my speakers filed for a restraining order." [Ehren_McClelland]: "Okay, Broken. Massive sword, massive energy, massive explosions...
but did it WORK?!"
[Clayborn_Madison]: "If this doesn't work, I'm deleting my tank build. Just saying."
