SpoilerThe final straw was a belligerent antagonist who didn't mind pushing people to risk fatal injury for short term gain going all My Little Pony on the MC.Keep in mind this is a novel where the MC, as a 10 year old child, was almost stripped naked by vagrants in an alley and sold into sex slavery.Oh and the MC's main love interest was one of perpetrators, who also beat the shit out of him and bullied him. I guess the author is into Stockholme Syndrome and the power of friendship?

I never understand the hate of a characters personality when there is such short time frame to judge. It's been 22 chapters...it's pretty rare for a MC to be an emotionless sociopath, who will kill even for the slight less of offenses unless you plan to read cultivation novels the entire time. There is a thing called character progression and it usually doesnt take place in just 20 chapters

Word of advice for anyone that needs it:Everyone has their own thoughts and preferences, just because they like or dislike doesn't mean you would too. There were many novels where I enjoyed reading them, but dislike by others just because it has a controversial element. Tbh I have skipped many novels because I have read the reviews before the novel itself but you have to judge the comment itself, the reviews that describe the mc are normally the ones you should look for. Those that say "ew, there's Yuri in it" are better off ignored unless they it is 'ntr', then you can skip it immediately
i disagree, the comments can be judged at face value. He either likes it or she hates it, his legibility determines if hes emotionally driven. what we need to ignore is all these high rated cn novels that simply doesnt deserve its ratings and single comment boons like its a masterpiece. Anyone that mentions masterpiece in a review which this is clearly not, can be ignored. throughout my experience of all who shout masterpiece only 1 can roughly be taken seriously. literacy here isnt very high on this site. Chapter 868This novel is hard to rate because it contains too much sex that you have to see it as a smut novel. But not any real variety in the sex scenes themselves.You basically have a mc that is good to his allies and the devil for his enemies, though not too dark. The novel in a simple sense is see beauty, capture beauty and then use beauties to control their families. Issue is there are to many beauties that all that you like have to little screen time.The good part of this novel in my opinion is the story progression. It does not feel boring.If i have to rate it for its goal...read it till a fap scene then use that as fap material and then read further till next fap scene. I would rate it a 7.5/10. Mostly because of the length of the novel itself that keeps you engaged and not the pure quality because as mentioned the sex scenes are kinda generic.

The first chapter and my desire to read it immediately dropped to a minimum. Quick thoughts, words and texts, characters that appear incredibly quickly and the plot that began so suddenly. Usually, authors delay the beginning so that readers at least understand something, and quite often authors delay the beginning too much... But here... Here the author jumps and runs so fast in the text that I had a complete feeling that it was written clearly by someone who had just started writing books or just clearly unprofessional man. Too bad and too fast. I haven't read beyond the first chapter because this book just unreadable to me

Not a bad book if you are looking for Cultivation/Fantasy with a Yuri subplot. As for cultivation, the author doesn't really get hung up on cultivation levels, although they are present here. But the novel is more like an ordinary fantasy, but in a cultivator setting. Battles in the novel more or less interesting and readable. Romance is present here and a lot of time has been given to it and it is presented much better than in other cultivator novels. In general, if you like Yuri and Cultivator novels, then you should like this work. But don't expect much from the cultivator part of the novel.

This is no romance novel despite it being a female MC. Sure, she had to deal with infatuated teens, but she did so kindly and outright stated her intentions to be just friends.The world building in the novel was amazing, I liked how the empire she was in was put together. The only weak point was a notable lack of respect towards the nobility. It seems lesser nobles and commoners got away with being rude or outright aggressive towards high nobility without any consequence for their actions, which doesn't make sense. Why would that system of government hold together or anyone observe the social protocols in that case.Striking a person for any reason was unlawful. I'm thinking it was similar to modern day British isles. They have nobility, but people could disrespect them and there is little the nobility could do about it. It just doesn't make sense for a culture in the medieval period to allow such freedom. How could they enforce discipline in an Empire in more or less perpetual war on and off with a neighbor for hundreds of years?The MC put up with a lot of trash in this novel without becoming mean about it herself. She got revenge for slights and trouble in more subtle ways. She just didn't overreact to things - she was incredibly wealthy and there was little trouble she couldn't fix with money or her position. The MC didn't resort to permanently destroying the lives of teenagers she put it because of school arguments. In truth, all of them repented of their actions eventually and considered her a friend. Spoiler(except 2 who had a bad ending)The MC did indeed kill people or cause their death or maiming - but on adults only.
Well I read this on Royalroad and I really like this novel. the characters are mostly likable and it has some decent twists. the world building is good and while there is not an insane amount of character development, it's not 0 either
If you like a strong independent mc then you would be disappointed, for a 40 year old women to be this naive is insane, shes too solf hearted the mc know it herself, and she treated the characters like grandchildren that doesn't know better but the in reality shes just delusional, she makes herself believe that something is ok then act as if everybody oberreacted but would a 40 year old women really think that kissing on the lips is ok because someone is a friend and it's just a goodbye kiss and nothing else? If she herself know that her "friends" is young and she a mature womam(mentaly?) Thats more weird tbh
Tori considered Constantine a friend. She also considered him just a teen with a bad case of puppy love. It's just a kiss and not all that meaningful to her.You're 40 and there's a 15 or 16 year old teen saying he loves you and begs for a kiss. She didn't want to kiss him, but did it out of spite because Alessa Hart just influenced him again right in front of her and got him all confused, ruining the effort she had made to bring him around to join her circle of friends.She kissed Constantine because she wanted to one up Alessa and bring Constantine's attention back on her. There was also a little competition there with Alessa, Tori wanted to outdo her at her own game.BTW, the MC is no virgin 40 yr old either. She was an independant woman who did as she pleased, and loved to travel all over the world. Foodie and thrill seeker. Her relations with men or women were never explicitly stated in the novel, but she did start laughing at the boys once when they argued about size. She prefers them a "little better than average".
I read this one on RR. This novel starts out as a somewhat blatant ripoff of "My Next Life as a Villainess; All routes lead to doom" And it was good, quite funny, and poked fun at the "meta" of villainess style novels, while establishing a realistic world.As the novel progresses due to the lack of major adversity facing the titular Tori the novel leads into a sort of lull Slice of Life+ Business/"empire" management style for a long period of time. The Humor and meta references slowly fall by the wayside, and imo the novel is worse for it. In the more recent chapters while I won't say Tori experiences actual long term loss or hardships there is at least opposition or hurdles to her progression regularly.On the whole this novel is easy to recommend to fans of 'villainess" novels, slice of life fans, and even has significant appeal to fans of business/noble management type novels. Just don't expect a lot of character growth or romance despite being set in an "otome" game setting.

I'm finding myself quite liking it
Aside from explanations, hypotheticals, and info dumps that go on WAY, WAY too long, I thought this was decent until chapter 34 and 35 when the author forced a ridiculous and terrible plot development into a story that already had too much going on at once.It wasn't exactly perfect before, either. There were always issues with some random thing popping up to stretch out the story. That's especially true whenever MC pops out another business idea and we lose a chapter or two to discussions, explanations, hypotheticals, and thoughts about the business, plus a bit more for the business actually being set up.The author also said each chapter would have 5000 words. While I believe it, he really shouldn't force it so hard. Too many chapters have word dumps near the end where it's obvious the author is just padding the word count. You won't notice when the already-endless info dumps are stretched out a bit longer, but during other scenes it totally kills the story's flow.Also, the author has zero clue how commas work. It's almost like he's intentionally making the comma usage a bit worse each chapter, escalating until around chapter 30 where half the commas that are there shouldn't be, while half the commas that should be there aren't. It's brutal to read. All that said, I'd still give it a solid 3 out of 5 up until chapter 34, where I drop my rating to a 1.5. It's just so forced, terrible, and completely unnecessary. The story already has a thousand things going on all at once. Why force in a new, much dumber one without resolving any of the others first?
Totally agree with the, above the auther's info dumping is simply repeating what was said earlier in a slightly different way. word count padding. The story actually started to turn shit when MC was called a pig and would require a continent's worth of resources to progress. constantly feeding the reader with sh#t story line plots, will mean bigger bs story lines to explain and develop later.I can not recommend this story at all (dropping at 35. Great story, really goes in depth into the cultivation mechanics, and good MC.Extremely different from most Cultivation stories, but I think the story is better for it. Has a lot of potential, but so far is a bit of a slow burn.

The guy shows it, he doesn't even forgive his brother for his mistakes, he is sufficiently ruthless but not a murder hobo, in that regard he is like Fang Yuan only driven by profits.Golden pro of this novel is it's details. Like Author is going all out on Math and Physics, Euclid's geomatry, Tesla valve, how to drill a traingle. This is probably the most detailed novel in this regard and its fairly obvious from the title itself.MC has a bit of an advantage at the beginning which you would begin to question whether it was an advantage or a trap, yeah he is going to get himself in mess.Later on, the story might add other elements, some will like them, others will hate them, but I implore you to continue reading this, because ultimately at heart we are Calculating Cultivation. And Yuan Zhou will show us how you really go about achieving Immortality.Chapter length is 5k, so yeah do let the lower amount deter you, it's already got more than 100 Webnovel chapters.

What’s taking it so long to update
So, I found this on royal road, it had 7075 followers, good reviews and all that....And I thought it would be hella good based on the reviews. Then it came to me...'Let me check the reviews at Ranobes once and then start reading it'. And bam, the reviews hit me with the speed of mach 7.So, to sum it up...Royal Road: BEST SNEK!!! RECOMMEND! I read on royalroad, then quit, then it got stubbed, then I wanted to pick it back up again, then realized it got stubbed, then came here to re-read from the beginning because I f#cking hate stubs.Anyways, yes, good snek. Best snek. smol danger noodl.
It was fine until the mc IQ took a dip, when he saw humans he somehow came to the conclusion that he should show them the ways of the "great core" he later was locked up and when set free he sees species of spiders he hates or something like that I don't specifically remember but. He came to the conclusion that the humans are being controlled by said species and proceed to attack them. My point is the author (mc) dropped the mc's IQ so low that he forgets his ways, and behaves like a pet for humans in the settlement twisting logic in a way that it fits in what he calls "spreading the greatness of the core" even a dog would still behave like a dog if provoked too hard. But not the mc when provoked he simply believes that they need to see the core's "greatness".
A solid 9/10 But i had to stop at about 70-ish ch , I'm tired of mc(author) twisting every single event in such a way that our mc snake becomes , a hero of humanity ... bruh.Humans came to kill him and his creator , they did(almost). He escapes , but later on he meets the same people again , but not only isn't he angry or considering them his mortal enemies he goes ahead and gets tamed by them ... God Damm , even later they go ahead and cuff his mouth , and he's barely annoyed with the situation , at this point i couldn't help but compare him to a stray dog finding an owner, quite a stain to the Great Core , might i say.Albeit funny, it has become annoying to me how mc view the world(humans), it comes off to me as very very forced of mc to volunteer himself as their guardian. They have never helped him , they came and destroyed his home , his life , they imprisoned him for a while and then mc be like " fools , but don't worry i know you have been bewitched by the spiders, i shall save you " , makes no sense man. The logic leaps mc takes is astounding to a degree i haven't seen in a long time , makes me remember of some garbage system type Chinese novels .I wouldn't mind him becoming what he already is by the latest ch , but at least give a way for him to f#cking speak for heavens sake , Everytime I read his twisted logic , it makes me feel insulted.Great read , i don't like it's direction , you probably would , try it out.

Despite the title this is not a dungeon core novel nor World-Devouring Serpent v2 (at least not yet). A small hidden core has a single snake guardian who doesn't do much and then it Spoilereats the core after wrestling with humans who came for the core becoming an "Ascended" then eventually becomes a sort of totem animal for a small human community. Very solid writing and the snake perspective is fun. Most of the story is time with humans but it can't understand their language (yet). Lots of room for growth as a spiritual guardian as well as personal power.

It's not bad, but it's not good either. I don't think this low rating is deserved, I would say a 2.8 to 3 maximum rating. It's quite cliché but not unpleasant, good for passing the time I guess.
